This is fine, but please don't use the brush to test "dull" sensation in one of my exams. Also, please don't brush the needle! It is made to poke, the dull is tested with the others side of the needle. The brush is for light touch sensation, but there are better ways to do it. Finally, this type of tendon hammer is mechanically deficient - again, OK to use, but not the best out there. Finally, are you going to sterilise the needle afterwards? Please use a neurotip instead (which has both sharp and dull sides and is disposable), Oh, and did I mention? DON'T BRUSH THE NEEDLE!
Lots of clinicians use their fingertips to test dermatomes bilaterally, and I've never once seen a clinician test sharp/dull in actual practice. Most likely you'll have a neurologist checking those things if you actually need to refer them for signs and symptoms.
I guess if checking the distal most part yeilds normality and no impairment den along the length check is not needed as the sensations have normaly traveled from proximal (origin) to distall most part along length as normal but if in case distal most part sensation is impaired den along the length segment wise we move from distal to proximal and chech exactly where bilaterally the sensations become impaired along length
