The way that Dermot is cherishing the States the way that most of us born and raised here treasure visiting Europe absolutely warms my whole entire life. This is the way to live - cherishing, learning, laughing and growing. What a beautiful video and trip to share. Dermot, if you read this - you are deeply admired and held close to many of our hearts. I was thinking exactly this. I'm from NY, but I cherish Ireland in the way he cherishes the U.S... But also, the way he says he misses the Irish air, trees, and dirt at the end of the video... I don't blame him. It's such an incredible place to visit, I can't imagine having grown up there with such beauty all around. I love my hometown, one of my favorite places on earth, but Ireland is truly something special.

I so strongly relate with the piece where he spoke about the fear of not reaching your full potential. It's tough to vocalize that and you're completely right about family not getting it. Thank you for being vulnerable with us, you're truly a top notch person.

Dude, you are without a doubt an amazing person. I've had one of the lowest times of my life this year. Your music helped me through it. I listen to your album over and over repeatedly for months. I connect with your music so much. It sounds stupid but it's almost like it speaks to my soul. I appreciate you and your music so much. I had the privilege of seeing Dermot perform at Red Rocks Amphitheater the other night and it was one of the most incredible concert experiences I’ve had throughout a lifetime of attending live performances of various musicians and genres. COVID-19 pushed the concert date back a year, but it was worth the wait. I definitely recommend!

I don't think you need to worry about reaching your full potential Dermot. You have literally done and achieved more than most people will in their lifetimes. Also you passed right by my home in La Crosse, Wi. It's an hour from Eau Claire.

I love this. Raw, unfiltered speaking his truth and all our truths. The same things that run through all of our heads. Totally get the Irish air thing too. I remember coming home from Australia and the feeling when you step off the Aer Lingus flight in Dublin and take a breath. You’re home, you’re with your people. Love it! ☘️ Home is what makes all of us on this earth. We are our stories, our homes, how and where we grew up. It’s what makes us or breaks us.

I loved this!! As an American, I absolutely agree there are so many gorgeous, inspiring places across this vast continent... I've lived & traveled all over this land, it taught me a lot, as did traveling to other countries, I especially love the Carribean, BUT Dorothy said it right when she said "There's no place like home!!" My bf & I were just talking about this bc, tho we were from different states, we live along the same river valley, & we've been all over, but our love & passion for our region, the rivers, creeks, & mountains, there's truly nowhere that feels quite like home. I'd love to visit Ireland & England, where my ancestors came from, but I also have ancestors that were Native Americans, & Idk if I'd ever feel @ home anywhere on this planet that isn't this very river valley, in the Appalachian Mtns. Thanks for making such inspiring music & for sharing your personal journey!!

You will most certainly reach your full potential. There's still so many people sleeping on you that have yet to discover your beautiful gift and talent. The only other artist who's music touched me like yours is Michael Jackson and I relate to your music so much more than I did his. I don't know who you lost but it's clear that you experienced a very profound loss and it taught you what's important in this life. I experienced a loss that profound when I was 19 years old. My girlfriend and I flew from NYC on Saturday to see you in Chicago at Aragon Ballroom, you killed it man. Your a cappella version of For Isle Fires and Family was one of the most pure thing I've heard in my life! We're both from Europe and traveled all across the states, I love that you went to Zion and explored O'claire for Bon Iver!
