@johnbedford7844 Also, rods falling from the drrick, finger loss, getting hit in the face by transfer device. Have another Bud Lite hoss. Hee Haw! Equipment loss, personnel injury, and down time. The root cause analysis of incident reporting. What a hand?
Yes sir. Damn fool way to work. Some of those idiots showed their missing fingers as a badge of pride. You and I don't have a clue what they were thinking. @user-zq3iz3zn5m
@doggbiter Lol, ok. Once it's tight, I'll pick up on it and the derrick hand immediately moves to grab another triple as soon as I start down. By the time the wrench had puts his wrench on it I'm pretty much at the rod table. As soon as I set down and start back up (which after watching your vid takes nowhere near as long as you) the derrick hand sets it down and it gets wrenched in. Next time we're tripping rods I'll try to get a vid and show you what I'm talking about.
Your...."I'll try to get a vid and show......" REALITY CHECK: Yea, you do that. It been 5 years since you have posted your comments. We're still waiting.
your derrickhand doesnt even stable the transfer for the boys spinning haha, the way i was taught was to never throw the rod into the elevator until the connections just about to be snapped. lol you boys ever get the transfer line stuck in the blocks from the rod sticking to the elevator when buddy spins? lol
@doggbiter When the operator picks up the blocks the wrench hand should already be ready for the next double/triple. My guys are ready for the next one as fast as the derrick hand can pick it up.
@bigwoodz420 Uhh, no. We've been latching on for years and no problem whatsoever as long as like you say, the derrick hand centers it. Did it myself up there for a long time. Never slowed down the floorhands at all.
no no, i not saying itd slow them down, i was more so thinking that the transfer line get caught in the rod hook cause it spins he odd time and thhe lines resting right against them
Maybe your setup is a little different. Our line doesn't rest against the rod hook. So, no, has never happened. Been on many different rigs and it hasn't happened yet.
@godngunclinger The only pickle on the location should be in someone's dinner bucket. Hitting Derrick, it was found to put fracturs in the transfer device, leading later to severe incident reporting later for rod transfer failure. Floor hand always look up Danialson. Formerly Pool Well Servicing, Later Nabors, installed an air horn that was operated at the rod board. The most irritating method of announcing the release of the elevator and rod transfer ever.
@jacebush713 Rod running in the manner you describe can create stress risers at the bottom of the rod upset 😡 which leads to rod parts, pulling recalls, and at a 2 to 1 speed index rate ... not as important as not tearing up the rig, which creates down time at the contractors expense. Then downtime and equipment replacement at the producers expense.
These guys are slow compared to the guys at Oil Well service co. in Long Beach. You should see the block coming down when they are on a job, its like a guillotine it's moving so fast practically. I guess these guys are not too bad though.
