I have this set and while I haven't had to use it much I do love the feel of them. You know you don't have to take the screw portion off right? You can just loosen and tighten it while still attached. Unless of course you like doing that, what would annoy me could be meditative for another.
I do, but thanks for pointing it out! With my beveled pencils, like in this video, I personally find it easier to slide the holder in when fully unscrewed. With my slimmer pencils, the other method is way easier, yes🤓
Believe it or not, I watch this video, to avoid to buy Makers Cabinet FERRULE.. I mean I have an itch getting it, but the pricetag holds me back... I do a lot of sketching with either Graphite pencils or Red Chalk pencils mostly and in the same time, I like to write with pencils... Never had an issue, ordering an art supply, Makers Cabinet FERRULE is both hard to get and hard to avoid. I'm a freak about control/precision and that tool II'm sure it provides that, improbving the superlightweight pencils control, linework and handwriting is going to look way better.if it only cost half that price!!
I was unfamiliar with that product until your comment had me searching for info on it-it is incredibly expensive! For me, a pencil extender helps my colored pencils have longer life, and art supply I use for extended periods of time-I don’t see something like Makers Cabinet’s Ferrule helping me there as its extender is considerably heavier than the Derwent (much more economical) version and would definitely create hand fatigue. But I’m happy to know if its existence-thank you for that!
Makers Cabinet’s Ferrule is more of an improvment, for sketching and writing, because weight adds control and the thicker grip, also imrpoves the thin grip that graphite pencils usually have. For colored pencils, what you use is far more ideal! so you shouldn't care about it as much as I do! I mean I hope so, because it's expensive. You can literally get a full set of Artist great color pencils, with the money it costs!@@HaveColorWillTravel
Hiya, and yes-the larger of the two extenders (the silver one in the set I’m sharing about) works beautifully with FC Polychromos! It will also work with FC Albrect Durer watercolor pencils BUT it does tear into the finish of the pencil because those lovelies have a beveled edge which scraps the opening of the extender. Like I said in the video, I don’t mind that as it allows me to use my pencils longer, but some folks might.🤓
