The pale skin depictions are of the Hyksos who came from West Asia. The Egyptians depicted themselves darker than the Hyksos. Burnt because of the sun, not because of a natural hue. I am mostly Italian (close to 80%) but by the end of summer I can get very dark. I have NO African lineage according to 23andMe. My brother-in-law is of eastern European lineage but he also can get quite dark. There are FIVE types of melanin, btw. Besides our unchangeable genome we all have an epigenome that can change over time and environment and cause different hair color, skin hue, etc. depending on stress factors, diet and environment. My own hair color has changed at least three times and I also can't get as dark from the sun as when I was younger (I have a different diet now). Look all of this up for yourself.
