Kershaw makes processing wild game easier with the Deschutes - Caper and Skinner fixed blades. The full-flat grind D2 blades are ideal for slicing. Their ergonomic handles are contoured for comfort while processing game. Polypropylene adds durability, while an olive rubber overlay gives hunters maximum grip. Choke up on the finger choil and use the thumb ramp for greater control. Both fixed blades include a sheath that retains the blade during travel, while making it easy to remove the knife. These specialty Kershaws prove worthy tools during your next hunt.

if you would make a orange handle version it would be much better. bought this knife took it on a hog hunt and when field dressing. on one occasion thought i had lost it. it was in a small bush i tied some orange paracord to the pommel. for me. orange handle would make this knife perfect

You give it a rubberized grip for wet environments and then use D2 steel (rust magnet)? Makes no sense....

D2 has excellent edge retention and toughness at a price point that allows these blades to remain affordable. I live in the swamps of Louisiana and rarely have a problem with D2. Just don’t leave them out in the elements and clean after use. No biggie.

I agree. D2 was a stupid choice. Something like 14c28n or 154cm would have been a much smarter decision. Stainlessness and toughness are far more important in the field than edge retention.
