Thanks so much! Great, ok, Amazing take! Was using SY for a long time, and was looking to try squadcast or zencastr. Keep hearing horror stories about riverside and theri live is still only 720p.
I had to Google it too. "'S' tier may stand for "Special", "Super", or the Japanese word for "Exemplary" (秀, shū), and originates from the widespread use in Japanese culture of an 'S' grade for advertising and academic grading" (Wikipedia).
Riverside just released a huge update. I would like to see a new comparison if it made a difference. I like the new updates riverside just announced... more like a rebuild than an update. But im new to all of this.
Pete, this video was exactly what I was looking for. Making video courses online that I will later host on Kajabi. Will also be watching your Descript tutorials. Thanks so much!
This is really useful, thank you Pete @DoYouEvenBlog. I was just wondering why you didn't consider Podcastle, as, by the look of it (though I'm not an expert), it seems very competitive with Squadcast?
Great video. I am not happy with Riverside.. in descript can you have jpegs or mp4 video files in a media board type place… so they can be pulled up in real time during a podcast solo or with a remote guest. Example- pull up a meme or video and both guests see and can chat over it
Well done. Thank you!! I need to see if Squadcast allows for Audience call in. I need audience members to be able to join the call with their questions.
Hey thank you for this in depth video, The only thing I’m stuck on is Descript not having 4k, Question is if I’m using a 4k camera is it going to be that noticeable only recording in 1080 once blown up on say a 4k television?
I tried to use Descript/Squadcast for remote interviews. I have a big sound drift. Unfortunally it is not linear, so I can´t fix it easy. It is more like pumping over the entire track, desyncing, resyncing, desyncing and so on... it is a total nightmare...
This great video convinced us to try Squadcast, but we ran into a issue that may be particular to our needs. Has anyone had issues using Squadcast to record a video interview with an international guest? We have tried multiple times with 7 minute interviews where the audio of our guest (in Kenya with a reasonably ok internet speed) was not captured. Is Riverside better for video recording with international guests where internet speeds contrast? Or does anyone have other suggestions of how we can fix this issue.
Riverside has the teleprompter feature which is great for training videos. I've checked the others you talk about here but can't fine any reference to a teleprompter. Do you know if that is available?
Also, how do you record your video? Is it always direct into Descript (only 1080) or do you do it on your camera at 4k and then upload? Thanks in advance.
