I never thought I'd see the day when you, Stefan, would consider a 4wd with no solid axles (referring to the comment about the Y62). Thank you for the content. Cheers.
lol yea at some stage there will be no solid axles left, Independent in itself can be better as solid axle in every way manufacturers just need to start designing some strong, long travel IFS's set up's.
Stefan, the tip with the Sea to Summit water bags is to give them a really good flush out before use to get rid of the plastic taste. We had ours for a few years now for water carrying. 1 x 10 litre, 2 x 6 litre and a 4 litre. We spread them around the car. We fill up all four bags when leaving the country side into the boonies, using the 4 litre for day to day use, topping ups from the larger bags. Top bit if kit. Once you have used the bags and/or travelling and not requiring water, the form factor allows you to roll up the bags. Much better than a 20-40 litre hard plastic containers not in use. Of course it is up to the individual. Cheers Gaz
aggressive tyres are very good in sand I'm running them for the past 14 years and never been stuck so does everyone else in the group. Thread pattern makes little difference in sand.
