You gotta love a DCB going scorched earth like this on the water. As an avid boater where I was driving my parents boats when I was 12 and owned multiple boats of every vintage and power over the years I can say that the footage of them literally passing wake surf and pontoon boats at a 100 mph spread made me pucker up a bit. There could have been soooo many bad outcomes early on in this video. That said, wicked boat, wicked power and good job by the driver, Gandalf the great!
That was off the charts cool. Dave gave me and my kids a fast ride at Powell (my lovely wife was too scared to go) we got up to 150 and my daughter fainted. Scary fast, but Dave is an ace behind the wheel.
This is insane! I would love to experience that. I am a River Rat and go on Havasu with my Waverunner, but grew up going there with my dad in a little $500 bass boat we stripped and completely built the interior up when I was like 8. Did most of the cutting with a jigsaw at that age. Fun memories. I can go 65 on my ski and that feels fast, I can't imagine going 135+ on the water. Done 133 many many times on land while working, but on the water is something else!
Ken Fung are you kidding? Look at the amount of wheel and throttle input/correction being made. The man knows his stuff. Very impressive and a hugely fast boat.
Damn I just noticed that Ken Fucking idiot tried to make himself look like he knows what he is talking about. Yeah them boats are not easy to drive. Guess Ken has never seen the video of the guy with a load of people in his boat and then they all get slammed around and Simi injured. That old man has to keep a eye on the other boat's and adjust the throttle and drive it. And I'd say much more that I'm leaving out. He is doing one hell of a job. Got to love the people that think o that's easy. I'm no master at them myself but I've grown up in 455 olds fiberglass jet boats that were a chore to handle. In my opinion anything over 60 mph on water it gets tough to keep a straight line and look for wakes and logs and other shit. 112 mph is the fastest I've been on water. And well yeah that's moving. I couldn't imagine how it feels to be cruising like he is.
Hes messing with the trim and tabs the whole time to get that boat to plane right. Just like getting traction to the ground in a car, take a lot of finesse.
I love hearing and seeing the other boat with them Gone Again flying across Tahoe with a big ol roost behind it would be so fun to go for a ride like that
My goodness, what the hell was the wakeboard boat doing out in the middle of the lake for this PokerRun? That how an accident happened at Lake Cumberland about 10 yrs ago, great video guys
Open it up boys. I'm no boat racer but I've been behind the wheel while travelling 80+ mph to my favorite fishing hole in a boat a lot smaller than that one. I'd give my left testicular to be behind the wheel of this beast. The water was rough as hell. I wouldve assumed a boat of that size would cut the chop better than it does. Is blowout an issue on this style rig? I'd say it's heavy enough in the ass to keep the prop buried enough that blowout couldn't happen unless it was an extreme circumstance
When 100 mph feels like your walking you were hauling ass ! The other boat only thought he was fast getting left behind running 140 mph is wicked fast !
I noticed that as well. Looked like a ski boat from what I could tell and the driver probably had to change his shorts after being passed at 120+ mph while plunking along at 25/30. 😆🚤
Stock did it run the twin 1350=2700hp? An extra 400 is absolute bonkers. That thing must accelerate like a freaking banshee screaming straight outta heLL
The fastest I've ever been on the water was 82mph (GPS) on my built RXP with bigger s/c head and bottom end built etc. And that was pretty gnarly...the fastest ever in a boat was probably mid high 70's in a 92 fountain and THAT felt sketchy unless it was on glass...THIS IS just fking AWESOME... I'D be shitting bricks and laughing uncontrollably doing 160mph ON WATER in a boat anyone can buy straight from the factory...I remember when Apache's being able to do 90-100 mph was considered where the bar was set. Then 130mph for a stock, factory built boat was considered a whole new level....NOW you have these outerlimits, mti etc. that do 150+++ NO problem. I REALLY need to get a ride on one of these badboys
I wouldn't be surprised if this thing could hit 180+ on a glassy day, no winds...it's got 3100hp... mti's with 2700 are running 170 all day. GPS speeds
Oh man i don't know who the driver is but i do know that he drives the fuck out of this boat !! Awesome boat that i would call: a BAD BOY !!! Very nice clip !!
Wouldn't take any of the "bumps" out. Lol. A gimbal just levels a platform. It would just make it impossible to control the boat b/c your seat would be constantly moving on a different plane than the helm station controls. You'd have to go with a Shockwave® system, which incorporates the console, helmstation and seating into one suspended and dampened system. Pretty amazing technology. Not sure it would work in this application.
@@danhalas3936 well I feel like a dumbass lol. Guess if I would have thought about it for just a min I could have answered it myself lol. This is were you come in and say you dumbass. Lol. I deserve it lol
This DCB has a 250 gal. tank and I think it has twin 1550 HP engines. I don't know about the consumption but I hope those numbers help to give you an idea. Peace
And bye bye helios. Thanks for the ride. That was just way to fucking awesome! That man is one hell of a driver. He has been doing this for some time now. He was just as cool as a cucumber in the fridge on a mid August. Damn what a run. Was he the first one to that point?
In the beginning I thought: He guys use the boat! But later...... 155...yeah, that is what the machines are made for. Fatastic! But I wonder, why do these have no shock absorbing seats?
LAAAATE!!! That got me so pumped up. I've been on a fishing boat once and to the river one time. I don't know how I came across this video. But, oh my fricken gosh. I loved it! Thats now on my bucket list. Ride in a boat like that, just cruising at 100 mph, in a poker run. I don't even know the rules. I had to comment before I look them up. That looks tough! WOW. I probably going to dream about this video tonight. Great video. Just gained a new subscriber.
Jay W if you liked that. Check out videos titled, Southern 80 or Bridge To Bridge. Hellraiser Southern 80. An open class waterski boat will do twice the speed of this and then some.
if you want to die. there's a cord attached to your arm that kills the motor if you fall out. seat belt concussion if it flips = drown. you have a chance if you are floating behind the craft.
