Respectfully, I feel this song needs to include the often forgotten brothers in the nation to the west, and the smaller nation to the east. Prior to 47 and the chalaaki of the British, they too were a part of this great nation. May that again be. One day. And absolutely agree on your points about nationality. In the noise of globalization, human culture and identity is often overlooked, including the immense good that can be achieved in "one nation under God".

But heard it countless times since yesterday and each time they sing “Mere Vatan uth jaag ja” (which I believe is taken from Isaiah 61) meaning arise shine for your light has come, I can actually feel it in my spirit. Now this is what I call an "Indian Freedom Anthem" where there is freedom from distinction between Jaat-Paat (Cast,creed,etc), religion, bondages, slavery to dominants, etc...and there is only one God who became an INTIMATE father to all the people irrespective of their religion or faith...that intimate Father is our Jesus Christ.
