@@pcutta610 Saying that " the Browns and Stefanski deserve everything theyre getting with this guy, good or bad" is NOT the same thing as "wishing horribld things on others." It's saying that decisions and actions have consequences, good and bad.
I think you’re joking… but I think you’re absolutely right. He’s got guaranteed money, might as well. It’ll be the closest thing to a regular season game for probably a year. Best option would be to put him up against guys playing every snap like it’s their personal Super Bowl.
I’m trying to understand this here- So just last year the Browns were a helmet to helmet penalty call away from the AFC Championship game. Then of course had a season of flops and injuries which can happen to any team. Yet instead of trying to regroup and refocus by continuing to improve the team around Baker Mayfield the same guy who helped them end their playoff drought, they essentially say ‘screw you Baker’ and go out to grab a QB who will have this controversy hanging over his head for the rest of his career and will surly give any team he’s on a bad name. How does that work?
Umm he's better than Baker Mayfield. As far as controversy this ain't the first time in sports that talent supercedes controversy. Oh n... He's better than Baker Mayfield.
Watson has much more natural ability than Mayfield, but he's on a new team and hasn't played competitive football in over a season. There will be growing pains. That said, Mayfield has looked slightly above average at his best and doesn't have a great arm, coupled with shoulder problems. He never looked like a QB who could will a team in a tough fight against an elite team. He almost always came up short in the most significant moments. A change of scenery will do him good, and now he has the newfound motivation to stick it to Cleveland.
the irony if he wins all the legal stuff, wins all the nfl suspension stuff, and then just plays like a downgrade from mayfield and kills the browns salary cap for 5 years.
@@pierrekwizera7180 and i believe he had a 4-12 record. never underestimate the value of having 22 minutes every game playing against a prevent defense and never running the ball.
@@aj613. That's what they said about Cosby. Just takes a while 'til the truth comes out. Watson basically admitted guilt in an interview before the Jags game, apologizing to all the women he hurt. He also paid everyone off. Still doesn't completely prove guilt, you're right but I think the writing is pretty much on the wall with this guy. Hope he gets every bit of karma he deserves, crashes and burns out fast. Not much of an upgrade over Mayfield anyway. 26-24 record, 1-1 playoffs. Maybe a little faster and more athletic but definitely not worth the Browns selling out and losing years of draft progress for.....
It’s not so much cursed, rather it’s and incompetent franchise for the last 20 years with poor decisions becoming common place. Signing Deshaun Watson and giving him that huge contract knowing he is a sexual predator is so disgusting. It puts the Browns fans in a very awkward position.
Too much soy. Anyone with the negative comments just wants to ride the hate train and be a part of the “team”. It’s the “I told you so” team as soon as anything confirms their bias. Funny thing is it’s the same fans that run out every Qb since the reboot
And yet people rated Watson a top QB so highly when he hasn’t played in 2 years or so. This is why I say he shouldn’t be before Herbert Burrow Lamar nor Murray of these active QB until he plays again to see if he can still produced.
Honestly that second throw wasnt bad thats the wr but that first one was unexcusable he looked very nervous but I think he will be a great player still not a browns fan
I'm not shocked. They let BIG BEN get away with rape twice at night club. We never heard nothing since it happened. A BLACK DUDE get into trouble you'll say all kind of stuff. Let's be far to all
After seeing the 1/5 stat and seeing 2 egregious plays from Anthony Schwartz (who coincidentally is the reason baker mayfield got hurt) much less worried lmao
In this day and age it wouldn’t be hard to hack into an athletes phone, and sell their information to a lawyer. The lawyer then builds cases built purely off speculation, and the athlete is forced to settle to continue his job in the nfl.
Okay since you wanna play that BS, Yes it’s because of the skin complexity on Watson, but his 24 accusations were false, but the judges who ruled the suspension saw a pattern with the first four so that’s on him, but everything else was false and you guys instead of actually using logic wanna play the “ignorant” card but wanna be the same who defended Johnny Depp
The Browns were really close to getting out of the curse theyve been under since their actual team left for Baltimore.... Then they Browns it in the most epic way possible.
@@lamonesjr5563 yep. But casual non-Browns fans only read the headlines that say he was hurt and that’s why he did poorly last year. Nope. He can’t read a defense. He can’t see open receivers. He holds on to the ball too long. He tries to throw into tight windows that aren’t really there. He has one move-roll to the right. His audibles are always a bust. And bad decision after bad decision.
@@cemarz baker is terrible at evading sacks and is never clutch in two minute situations plus he throws a bunch of INTs the dude is barely average not elite in sort of manner
It's clearly rust and getting comfortable with a new team and offense. Watson’s never been the most technically sound QB, but his knack is his tenacity and competitive drive. He always finds a way to win and is brilliant at extending plays; he's one of the toughest quarterbacks to sack, even after contact. This is just going to take a long time to get right, maybe even another season.
Wonder what the owner would think of a guy treating his daughter like Watson did , I say he would prob say she deserved it and give the guy 230 million dollar contract
@@dillonlyons6154 Placed better? Does he have to stick it in is face mask so he can't help but catch it? He had it right out in front of him about waist high. I remember Baker making passes like that where the receiver had to turn back behind him to even get a hand on it and they were saying it was a good pass.
@@ScottCleve33 baker wasn't paid the biggest garunteed contract in history though. Also, Cleveland recievers have always sucked no matter who they were. I think coaching has little merit in Cleveland. Stefanski seems solid but I would question the specialist coaches, both wr and qb coaches.
As a Niners fan I hope he gets suspended for the entire season and the Browns panic and trade for Jimmy G, LOL. Jimmy is by no means a great QB but maybe the Browns would give up some nice draft picks
@@PhatMon920 Zach Wilson going down tonight also points to jimmy G heading there potentially… The head coach or the offensive coach is the same one that jimmy used to have. Hopefully trey lance steps up this season for y’all
The real shocker is that RU-vid left this comment section open...........I'm gonna bookmark this and come back every so often just for grins to see what people come up with 😂😂
I think that Deshaun Watson is going to be a scratch "for this year". He looked absolutely rusty, here. That wouldn't mean much if he didn't have that 6 OR 8 game suspension. However, unless a miracle happens, he's going to be serving that suspension. So, even if he gets to play a few of the first games of this season and it helps him get back into form. He'll get back out of form during his suspension. However, the Browns "should" be dangerous next season as long as they keep most of their players.....and get some luck in the draft and in free agency....Heck, they may even be dangerous this year if Joshua Dobbs is an okay QB. If they can outcheat the Cheatriots and win that game, it will be a win season for me. :)
As a texan fan 🤦 I will say his accuracy was questionable at times and I do think playing with Hopkins covered that up a little bit. He's still great and multi talented though but he still hasn't shown he's an elite passer imo. Hopkins would have probably caught both of these passes 😢
People act like Watson had it bad on the Texans. He had legit weapons. He had Hopkins when he was the best WR in the league complimented by Fuller who was an elite deep threat. Even in that 4-12 season, Watson had elite weapons to throw to. Cooks/ Fuller were a Top 3-5 WR duo. Cooks is a proven 6x Pro Bowl elite deep threat Top 20 WR. Fuller was literally on PEDs and before suspension was arguably one of most dominant WRs that season!
@@slimvickins5059 so when he beat Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in a playoff game where he played great before he left I suppose he won against this trash team too huh?
@@canwetalk1790 Watson was getting shut down 19-3 well into the 3rd quarter of that game. Then JJ Watt and the Texans defense came alive and put immense pressure on Allen. Watson played decent but was doing NOTHING before his defense rallied and he rode that spark. Plus it was in Houston and the Texans were the better team. Texans were favored and should have won anyways so it’s not like it was some amazing performance.
@@canwetalk1790 That was his lone win. What about his horrible playoff losses? 2019 Home playoff loss vs Colts was a pathetic game from Watson. Texans were the much better team but lost because they didn’t have a good enough QB. Texans had a Top 3 defense that season too with Watt, Clowney and Mercilus forming the scariest defensive front in the league. Hopkins was the best WR in the league. Texans were Division Champs and then lost at home to a less talented Colts team. 2020 playoff loss to Chiefs. One of worst choke jobs in NFL history! Texans were talented enough to go into Kansas City and get up 24-0! But Texans didn’t have a good enough QB to maintain that huge lead! Watson didn’t do anything for a majority of the game. Mahomes showed what an actual elite QB looks like. Watson has physical talent but he’s a terrible leader, with horrible pocket presence and command of LOS. With Watson it’s all about making some crazy play with his athletic ability or bust. He’s not going to run an offense and lead a team. He’s fools gold. One of worst choke jobs in NFL history. Texans should have hosted the AFC Championship game that season and then would have beat the far less talented Titans to advance to Super Bowl. Those Texans teams were some of most talented teams in the league but never won crap because they didn’t have a good enough QB. Joe Burrow just led his team to the Super Bowl with a worse O-Line than Watson could ever imagine but he had the entire media protecting him over bowing his own O-Line situations. Watson was drafted by an insanely loaded Texans team who were Division Champs the year they traded up to draft Watson. Burrow was drafted by the worst team in the league. That’s the difference between an elite QB and a media darling overrated QB.
Ok people seriously...calm down. If you are a browns fan u should be happy with what u saw!.on each play he made the correct READ! Which is the hardest thing for nfl QBs to do! yes he is a little off with his accuracy but that will come with time and shaking off the rust and nerves....he will be fine..next yr
Remember when Baker Mayfield came in his first game down 14 and unlocked the beer coolers in Cleveland after he won? His first series of passes were completed... Hugh Jackson was the coach too lol
Not for the first 6 games. He can even start going to and participating in team practices after the 3rd regular season game. That’s if the original ruling stands.
@@ScottCleve33 he was terrible after the injury dam just stop already if you watched the tirst 2 games of last season you wouldnt be on hear sounding so dumb NOW SAY WITH ME FIRE BERRY NOW
This dude put himself in a bad spot, he will always fight these allegations where we get a favorable verdict on his actions🤣🤣…. I remember in high school the tutors took the players test, happy to see it’s still ok to play a sport regardless of what they do in private…poor dude
