Firstly congratulation on the 100k subscribers. It was a very informative video. Only when there is difficulty in finding Desi Seeds you are supposed to use Hybrid seeds. Preference should always be given to Desi seeds. You can also use draught tolerant hybrids if your in a draught prone area or disease tolerant hybrids if your in area where crops are prone to a particular type of disease. It is always better to use Desi seeds as they have better nutritional value and they also have better viability. Usually desi seeds are well accustomed to a particular area as they were cultivated in that area for generations and cope well with sudden change in the climate. Apart from that it is also very important to use Desi seeds for that sole reason that to preserve the diversity and heritage of our country. Thank you

firstly congratulations for 1 million subscribers. if in organic farming desi beej is not available , then we can use hybrid beej. but hybrid beej needs for fertilizers, pesticides and need more water. Though the production are good looking and big in size and shape , they may be less in nutrition and less tasty. Instead desi beej is more suitable in local enviornment. needs less water to grow. needs less pesticides. sustainable for local climate. Though crop and vegetables we get from them , their size is small and may be less attractive to look , they are good in taste and more healthy . so everyone should give prefrence to desi beej. #organicacre

Sir my answer is - conditions like already you told like where irrigation water quality is poor, where more pest and disease are affected to crop, and climate condition are not suitable for crop, and seed quality is poor in many characteristics like (germination%, purity%, not high in production) so in these type of situation are applied on seed than there we use Hybrid seeds because hybrid seed are made for all those purpose that we are overcome all those defect in our seed . And many things you all ready told in this video so these are sufficient to use Hybrid seeds as compare to Desi seed And my opinion in today's topic is we want to save Desi seed and improve self life of our seed and maintain the quality of Desi seed like provide proper temprature, moisture, oxygen and etc. As you say that Desi seeds are very good in taste and healthy in nature to consume. How can I ensure that the products I buy from Organic Acre are from desi seeds only. The produce I buy from some other farmers are grown using desi seeds only and I don't wish to go back to hybrid. Is it possible to get the list of items grown using desi seeds only? One feedback, banana I had purchased from OA sometime in Oct'20 was very different in taste viz-a-viz market ones indicating either riped naturally or without using chemicals, however, when I bought bananas recently in Dec'21 after a gap of more than a year, it tasted like the ones bought from the market. Why so?

My opinions on desi and hybrid seeds selection - सारे कारण pros and cons तो आपने बता दिए मैं कुछ मेरे सुझाव डालना चाहूंगा - १. देखिये पहले तो जो किसान एक ही तरह की crop लेता हो जिसे माल बल्क में बेचना है तो वो किसान जरूर से hybrid बीज ही खरीदे, क्योंकि उसे ज्यादा production निकालना है और वो हाइब्रिड बीज से अच्छा खासा production निकाल सकते है। २. जो किसान सारी crops लेकर retail में बेचते है जैसे कि सब्जियों को बेचते है (हरदिन use होने वाली सारी सब्जिया) वो किसान जरूर try करे कि देसी बीज इस्तेमाल करे क्योंकि उसे customer को अच्छी taste वाले और ज्यादा पोषक सब्जियां खिलानी है ऐसा करने से customer हरबार वही आके सब्जिया खरीदेगा। ३. Hybrid और देसी बीज से ज्यादा हमे हमारे soil पे ध्यान देना चाहिए, hybrid बीज से हैम भले ही organic खेती करें पर वो genuine हो बीजप्रक्रिया करते वक्त कोई भी chemical use नही करना है। ४. देसी बीज को priority इसीलिए भी देनी चाहिए क्योंकि वो हमारे local area की होती हैं, वो सब्जिया हमारे यहां के मौसम में बरसों से उगाई जा रही है(जैसे एक ठंड प्रदेश में रहने वाला व्यक्ति गर्म प्रदेश में ज्यादा दिन नही रह सकता) उसी तरह सब्जियों के haybrid बीज कितने भी अच्छे क्यों ना हो लेकिन उस area में उगाई जाने वाली देसी बीज के मुकाबले कमजोर ही होती हैं। ५. और देसी बीज खरीदते वक्त ये भी ध्यान में रखना चाहिए कि हम हमारे area से ज्यादा दूर की लोकल बीज से ज्यादा हमे हमारे आसपास की जगह की बीज पर ध्यान देना हैं क्योंकि हर जगह मिट्टी और मौसम अलग अलग होते है और देसी प्रजातीया उसी हिसाब से कुछ बदलाव भी करती हैं.(जैसे कि आम के पेड़ विदेश में कितनी भी अच्छे से देखभाल करेंगे फिर भी हमारे यहाँ (रत्नागिरी) के आम के मुकाबले taste में फरक दिखाएंगे जरूर। धन्यवाद। #organicacre

Indigenous seed are best but here are some of the circumstances where we can use hybrid seed 1.First and important reason is when indigenous seeds are not available , generally indigenous seeds of some local plants such as spinach , cooriender are present but not of okra etc . 2.If the targeted customers wants good shape , size , colour then hybrid seeds are necessary. 3.If a particular belt of land is having some problems eg more diseases , then if indigenous seeds of that belt is not there then diseases can attack more , so here hybrid seed are used. 4. They can be used where there is no problem of water , fertilizer and we want more and more production there we can use hybrid seeds. Congratulations for 1lakh sir. After watching this vedio I came to this conclusion that how big companies had influence the people for using hybrid seeds for their own benefit .
