Thank you for sharing! I recently discovered your channel as I am trying to start my own architecture channel. Your videos are very inspiring and it’s very encouraging to see good architecture series on RU-vid (it’s rare)!✨✨✨
Thanks for the great video, just started a new job that requires learning how to use archicad and ci tools. This has been useful in updating my software knowledge.
Hi David! When using composite walls with a cladding element, do you then delete this from the composite if adding a ci covering? Otherwise wouldn't it double up? Also, do you know if it is possible to actually get the brackets or battens for the wall covering to fix to? Have you had any success doing irregular stone cladding?
Multiple questions in this one. Yes I delete the layer on the outside. No you cannot show the battens in 3D if that’s what you’re asking. I use the generic covering and then add a texture rather than making a shape specifically, just easier.
awesome tips! any advice on splitting cladding and having different claddings above and below openings (like brick below window heads, weatherboard above)?
The issue im currently having with CI tools covering is the roof edge type, im trying to change it from fascia to gutter but its not working . Since the wall is on boundary, the roof will drop between the gutter and fascia and the 450mm eaves gutter. in that drop its not allowing me to install a gutter as per normal practice. while in 4d roof covering i was able to do all that easily. im finding that 4d library is more user friendly even though its not as fancy. would you be able to demonstrate
Hi David i have a split roof, i was wondering how i trim the wall cladding so that it has a triangular peak, i cant find anything, i can see youve done it in the youtube thumbnail with the black building on the right? Thank you, love the content
Hi David, do you know how to put different materials on one wall, like on the bottom of the wall to be a different material and up to different material. Thank!!!
To the best of my knowledge this is currently not possible without an addon. CI TOOLS has one but I haven't tried it. Best way is to split the wall or create an additional wall infront. Not ideal.
Hi David. Have you used wall coverings for internal purposes? E.g. tiling a bathroom? The issue I have is the one of my walls is often across multiple rooms e.g. exterior wall or internal bracing wall. It means that the cladding is then applied to those other rooms. I can adjust the cladding after but wondering if there is a better solution?
There is a better solution but I haven't tested it out yet. ci tools makes a wall composite that can be adjusted vertically. Eg if you have only a skirting tile you can make it happen. Otherwise it's adjust the cladding / cut the walls to suit the rooms which is also painful.
@@DavidTomic Thanks for the response. Is the ci tools wall composite a separate tool or part of the coverings? Yeah, not ideal. Hopefully it's something CI consider going forward as AC is becoming quite popular with commercial & residential interior designers.
Hi David! How can I make a table of roof elements and their length or area (roof covering, downpipe, gutter, flashings etc.) It's difficult to count it every time manualy. Greetings from Latvia!
You can create a schedule, yes. Little bit complicated but it can definitely be done. I haven't made a video on scheduling items and areas but I'm sure there are some out there
