What are your tips and tricks for 3-D Printing? 🤔

1 more tip, you may not have this problem in the UK, but here it is: printer placement. I live in the desert South west USA, when the Air conditioner unit would cycle on, the ceiling fan would blow cool air in the build plate, so regardless of the roundness of edges, the part would lift.

Yes this is definitely an issue here too. Not so much with ACs but I used to print in my uni dorm back when I was studying and leaving the window open would have the same effect. The printers we use at work have a curtained off area.

Great video with some excellent tips. I'm a big fan of designing parts that don't need supports too👍 I find personally for my machine I use a 0.3mm tolerance so very similar. I'll also check out your clasp as I have tried a few and often end up with fasteners as they don't work so well. Thanks for some of the other tips too, I'll be trying the increased material per layer for more strength if I ever have to print in the 'wrong' orientation.

Thanks Ricky. I started using the clasp on products which were eventually going to be tooled for injection moulding at work, I'm told by the manufacturers it's suitable for this too. Increased flow works but can make the layers look less clean.

Thanks for pointing this out to me! I had forgotten to publish the page. It should now be available to download on the plans page. STL, STEPs, and SOLIDWORKS files.

@@jcracoustics also did you get the passive radiator placements from the Bose sound link mini?
@jcracoustics
@jcracoustics 2 года назад
@@bborb Yeh I certainly took a lot of pointers from their design. Having passive radiators on opposing sides is quite common as well because it reduces vibration with the opposing forces. Devialet Phantom is another good example.

@@jcracoustics also, is it water resistant? and does it have dsp?
@jcracoustics
@jcracoustics 2 года назад
@@bborb it’s water resistant to an extent in that if you get drips on it it’s fine but I wouldn’t push it more than that. I use it in the bathroom all the time and had no problems.
