Sir i have designed an pyramidal horn antenna in ANSYS HFSS for frequency range of 12.4-18.2Ghz, i have assigned it wave port and boundaries (perfect E to all faces of horn exept the face of wave port and radiation to radiation box) and gave it driven solution setup and frequency sweep. But sir when i try to validate it, it gives me an error "A wave port must have 'solve inside' objects on one side only. An internal wave port requires a PEC object to be attached to and cover the opposite side before the solution can proceed." Please help me sir I'm trying to solve it for more than 10 days

You should paste the face of wave port on the face of the radiation box. it should not be a gap between the wave port and the radiation box wall.

is there any website for defining the parameters of conical horn antenna, not equations ????

Unfortunately, I don't know website for this, but you can use "Antenna Magus" software. Enter your parameters, it outputs the dimensions of your antenna.

How did you find horn aperture dimensions , it is not possible to find them given equations please help.

Sorry, I do not understand what you mean. I explained the required equations in order to calculate horn aperture dimensions and other parameters clearly in the video.

@@EMSpectrumLab L(s) is not just a lenght for balanis book L(s)=-10*log(epsilonap) and epsilonap is aperture efficiency but ı could not find anything about it, so for that reason ı asked this question, help me please do you know about it anything

By the way ı found that "The aperture efficiency ranges from 0.4 to 0.8 in practical horn antennas. For optimum pyramidal horns, eA = 0.511., while for optimum conical horns eA = 0.522. So an approximate figure of 0.5 is often used."

@@fikret8422 Yes, for these calculation you can use the optimum value of aperture efficiency.

How have d value because not be in the information
@EMSpectrumLab
@EMSpectrumLab 2 года назад
"d" value is related to the standard diameter of your used circular waveguide. For example, for WC109 waveguide it is equal to 2.779 cm. The standard circular waveguides have different diameters for different frequency bands. You can search and find the various circular waveguide types.
