the among us is obviously the best art signature you can use.

I've undergone Multiple signature changes throughout the years but I think I've finally found one I can stick to for a long time haha

I would slightly blur or pixelize your signature to test how readable it is. If you can’t read it when pixelized. If your image is screenshotted or saved small…. People will not be able to read it. I’ve seen many pieces of art where I can’t read the signature since stuff is too close together or just it does not read well at a low quality. Like at least to be able to read what the first letter is.

As someone who, when I was younger, spent like hours upon hours thinking of a signature, it was really funny to watch this, attempt my signature (THAT I HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY SIGNED BEFORE) and do it perfectly exactly how I remember doing it....will probably attempt it again with these tips though

Originally I struggled finding a signature, but I decided that my signature was my characters head, very simple and quick to draw, and quite silly as well!

Coincidentally, this video was uploaded on the day my teacher made us create our own signatures. While I was creating a signature to write a document on, I have also had created a signature to write on my art. I have thought of my social media account initials in a cloud shape to repersent my popular artwork.

Man I've been thinking about this on and off for ages. I appreciate someone taking the time to approach signatures!

Where was this when I needed to pick a signature for my passport? For real this stuff is so hard to figure out! Everyone has a weird cursive sign thingy and I'm like "how the hell do you figure this out people" so I stuck to just writing my surname. Similar approach to my art signature. it's just ALOS with a year and stylized. And no the date does not devalue my artwork, I had never encountered any problems with it. This feels like such a pain to figure out.

This helped my brain think finally, I'd always wanted an initials kinda sig or to use a simple fox head, and I never signed my art the way I shoulda before, but now, this prompted me to take the clear vibe I wanted and put it to paper, just skipping to the testing phase you'd mentioned to get a feel for how to sign it and One clicked *really* well suddenly. Sure, it's a little hard to read if you don't know what you're looking at, but. It's mine, and I'm happy, and it takes a second to sign rather than half a minute, and like you said, I can always add a cleaner thing under it to find me with ^^

Had an old signature for my username of “Redwolf” where I combined the R and W together and it looked really nice! Unfortunately I had changed my name since then, but it’s still a pretty awesome signature

i think the symbol option might need a video of its own since you dont really get a base to work from like you do if you do it from a name.

Readability is a big thing for me. If I like your art, I want to know who you are so I can find you, follow you, and throw money at you. I know someone whose signature is a chicken. They literally put a chicken in all their art pieces. Couldn't tell you for the life of me who they are though. Someone else does it with mice. Again, I've seen their works 100 times, but couldn't tell you who it is.

I made my signature in 5th grade math class. First pass, first thing I came up with. It was my name is cursive with my last initial curving up at the end line to circle everything. Over the years it was mostly become my first initial, a scribble that sort of resembles the shape of the rest of the letters, and the same last initial thing… I’m afraid to change it because I think it’s just funny that mine is so generic it’s funny lol

Thank you for making these vids. I'm primarily a writer but I like drawing periodically as well and hope to eventually turn my stories into visual novels or comics, so it's always good to learn new things to improve the visual side of my work, including signatures. I have a bad habit of not signing *or* watermarking my stuff, mostly because I don't think of it and don't think what I produce usually merits it, but I know I need to change that. I have an old sig I use occasionally that I need to practice more. I did it one time in a way I was really happy with and I need to practice to do it more reliably, heh. xD

My signature has been something that's been done since I was 10. It used to be clear to read, but It has been over a decade and it has slowly evolved into an unrecognizable doctor scribble... so to not lose people interested in my art I have to obligatorily write the watermark lol

I try to make my signature a hourglass because I don’t want people thinking the other way for example my user is Phiche Pxylode. I don’t want to be “PP” because it sounds wrong and weird. So I do a hourglass to combine the Ps but I’m trying to redesign it so people don’t see it as “DP.” This video seems helpful and I can’t wait to try it out

Oh hey, I used to this for my old username.

(I believe my signature falls under combo) My signature has gone through two minor changes and both during middle school! My signature is of my initials AW but little me though it was cool if the A was instead a star. So I drew out one of those sucky line stars (idk what they're called but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about). And so the A was a star and the line in the center stroked through like the middle line in the A and then I just wrote W next to it. I don't remember if it was the same day or a few days after but I decided to add to it and have the line of the A strikethrough the W and than I added two small greater than signs to the end of it to make it look like a quickly drawn arrow. This was in the reference to my zodiac sign, the Sagittarius. And I literally have been using that ever since, literally since 2016! It makes me feel happy I found it, it quick to draw and recognizable. I use to so much that when I'm initial on contracts I end up accidentally using it (without the arrow part tho). So far no one had criticized me on signing documents with it so I kept doing it there as well. I think it also helps with fraud since if you were to look you can recognize that the tiny quirks in it are unique to my handwriting. I used it as my watermark for a bit when I used to also date them as well but I have a different stamp for watermarks. But I never thought about adding a "readable" version to my signature. That actually doesn't sound too much like a bad idea but at the same time, I am worried about people like doxxing me or something if my full name is there. So I'll stick to my Internet name for that part! Sent this video to one of my friends at MCT since he been trying to work on getting a watermark. He showed me a few of his and I pointed out which ones looks super cool as well as recognizable but in the end it is his decision on which works best for him.

Before I came out as trans, I would always sign things with a quick DH. It felt awkward trying to make it work as LH, so I think I'll take your tips and design a new one :)

I prefer my Brand name or username.Just simple or easy to searchable. I'm good!

I would just use my initials but they're B.L. and that already has associations (boys love)

1:34 symbol tends to be my favorite.

I just draw my first real name in cursive, with a few fancy lines goin through it, and a heart or Star. 😭

Only way I've found to make my 'full name'-signature fast due to the length of my name is to just du a bunch of unreadable squiggles after B, G and P and make two dashes where the T and the dots over Ö would be.

Now I do wonder what I'd use as signature considering I'm a 3D artist. We typically don't draw stuff, we model, texture and render things after setting up lighting and shaders and whatnot. So I don't exactly see how a hand-drawn signature fits there? I might try it though.

I’ve been considering shortening my signature to the first four letters of my first and last name: Kait Kauf, but I wonder if that’s weird?? On the one hand, I like how it looks when I end on the t and f. Very swooshy. And I like how it’s a little faster to sign than my full name. But what if that confuses people? What if they think it’s my actual name? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else shorten their name in their signature before (aside from initials).

my signature is my initials made into a symbol. I think its settled down on its "final" form. all thats left is let time exagerate that form

I say for initials you also have to be lucky with the name you were assigned when born cause it can be either cool or just boring/stupid

This video is really good, and helpful. But one thing: on 1:31 under “Intial” you have an example of initials as “SS”. Don’t use SS as initials. Not even as an example. Unless you have a very specific target audience.

Hi, I'd use signature by hand, to symbolize whom draw the art, is me. A person still don't have official waterprint, but only used flag for this purpose.

I used to sign my art, but got too lazy so I did a watermark 😂

Meanwhile I took no design as a design. But it kinda "evolved" from blended into the outline to tilted and slightly curved and tucked into a corner, to just being a hand written line of text that I put wherever there's space. My idea is really, this is my art and I'm just leaving the mark in my own preferred way. Either I got famous in the future and people wouldn't mind that my sign has no design, of I didn't got famous and having a unique looking sign wouldn't help either. (Though I also have a "sign" that's just a cat with flower on the head. I don't use it to sign my art though, it's more of an "I was here" thing.)

Is it ok to put an app symbol like RU-vid in the art signature? Because I don't have any other social app besides RU-vid, so someone could impersonate me and post my drawings on other apps like Pinterest without me knowing because I don't use it, so I prefer to put a RU-vid symbol
