I still regularly feature watches sub 1k, but I get it. My last 10 vids featured watches that cost 28k. 3k, 2k, 10k, $400, 14k, 1k, $600, 40k, and 2k. Upcoming vids will be Oris, Omega, Atowak, Manilone, Doxa, and Grand Seiko

They did great work integrating the strap to case. It fits around your wrist and the width makes it more legible. Cost aside I would totally rock one.

pretty sure orange increases in contrast under water... if memory serves, that's the reason that Doxa and Jacque Custeau went with orange dials for the Doxa pro dive watches...

You are right, orange works better in low visibility conditions, you can spot an orange diver way faster and many meters before you can spot a white/black/green diver, thats why orange is a modern color for fins and finishes on equipment. So orange for low visibility conditions and luminova for low light conditions. I´m not a tech diver, maybe there is yet another reason to use orange for tech divers, since this is a tech diver watch.

It’s a really nice watch, but you would have to be a super fan of the brand to spend that kind of money on a BP. It will be 18k used by the end of the year.

I tried this watch on yesterday. I looks great and was thinking I might want to buy it until I put it on. My wrist is 19 cm, but just didn’t look good on the wrist. The case it comes with is amazing though.

I’ve been trying pretty hard to get the fifty fathoms’ design lately. It still hasn’t grown an inch. Maybe it’s the combination of the design of the lugs and how it connects to the case, or maybe it’s the size and thickness. Whatever it is, I’m still not in love with it.

Great review with crisp photography. This watch is way too expensive for a diver, but maybe it is part of a trend of highly capable, yet unattainable tool watches that showcase innovative functions and materials. If one compares it to the Fifty Fathoms X Fathoms and the recent Singer Divetrack, the Gombessa is almost reasonably priced! All three are very cool instruments for ultra-rich divers.

I'm a fan of the regular FF, so I am liking this piece right off the bat. I'm not sure I would not get tired of the orange markings. It seems to wear its size well, so no concerns there. I'm not sure the price and the value prop quit align, but I'm sure they sell more than a few! Maybe I will find in the pre-owned market some day.
