Fashion Designer Rohit Bal presented his glamorous bridal collection on the catwalk at the closing show for the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week in Mumbai on Wednesday (4 DEC.)
Bal is known for his love of gold motifs in paisley and lotus designs and signature Kasab embroidery from Kashmir.
He used rich fabrics like hand-woven chanderi and velvet embellished with gold and shimmer sequins to create elaborate Indian bridal outfits including flowing and layered long skirts and jackets.
The color palette included black, red, off white, champagne and beige for men.
Bal's shows are also famous for their extravagant and lavish presentation style to showcase the festive and celebratory collections.
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan was the show stopper for the presentation.
"I have always liked his work, and today's show was just stunning. Those who are going to get married, they should wear Gudda's (Rohit Bal's pet name) clothes�then every moment will be made beautiful," he said.
A veteran of the Indian fashion industry, Bal was hailed as a 'Master of Fabrics and Fantasy' by Time Magazine for his aesthetic elegance and handcrafted opulence.
