Masks, often reflecting human or animal forms, are renowned for their symmetrical design, meaning each side mirrors the other perfectly. Crafted from diverse materials like clay, fabric, metals, and woven elements, masks are further adorned with intricate details using ivory, bone, stones, feathers, and straw.
As young artists, we will create our own symmetrical masks. Drawing inspiration from traditional designs, we explore the use of geometrical shapes such as circles, squares, rectangles, ovals, and triangles, along with various patterns and lines to achieve the element of symmetry.
