It wasn't quite coming together in my head until you put up the post it notes, then BOOM! I could use this method in my 5 min intro in the morning while we talk about the day, date and weather for the younger two. Then we can talk about how the day will look. Seems better than just seeing it on a spreadsheet. Love it x
SO helpful thank you so much!! I've tried so many "schedules" but this seems like something that would actually stick. I overcomplicate! Do you ever use alarms to help kids move to the next block? My son (he's just turned 7) always gets super engrossed in stuff that he has a hard time pulling away to do actual school work. I don't require much of him and we keep it really simple (math, reading and couple other subjects that we rotate through) but I do want to get in a better more consistent routine. He's stubborn like me! We've tried checklists and all sorts of things but maybe this will work. I don't want him to despise doing school but sometimes we just need to get it done and not let our short lessons drag out all day. It will at least help keep me on task as well! Thanks so much for sharing this!
I do have to pull my children away from their interests for a lot of reasons. This would probably be a great video idea! How to encourage those personal interests (wants), and still carry on with those needs? I'll think on that!
