Isn't it just the best feeling, when you get a notification and see the name Christine McConnell 🖤you just know for the next 25 minutes there's going to be magic, unimaginable talent, the cutest animals and all the good things🖤thank you Christine
You are proof that when you have true talent, you don't have to put out a video everyday to keep your fans...It's all about quality over quantity! A beautiful thing.
Me: Christine is so crazy talented! Why can't I be like her?! Christine: If I'm patient enough and willing to put in an obscene amount of time Me: . . . . . ah. That's why.
@@KittyAmour lol I feel that way too! She probably took lots of breaks in between. But she’s definitely talented! My cousin is like her but makes more things for her kids and grandkids in a cute whimsical version but she has reupholstered chairs and couches, sews curtains like professional manufacturer. Paint’s murals of pretty or cute characters. All kinds of talent. I’m learning to find my own talents and besides dancing and music in my life, I love to watercolor paint, hand sew small projects.. I need to dust off my sewing machine! Lol I bet you have some talent you are great at! 😁
We all need a high end Christine McConnell decor line. Exquisitely talented , the world would be a more fun and beautiful place if filled with her designs and creations!
That’s extreme! Lol… The world is already a fun and beautiful place since it was created, just that people had made it even better and took great care of the world since year 1. Lol… There’s beautiful nature out there beautiful places to see around the world, fun things to do. You should go see what’s out there!
I audibly went “oh no” when she started piecing the wallpaper together and then immediately sighed in relief when she cut in to talk about how she’d be changing it
That symbol was taken from Hitler and changed it to be something bad the rest of the world because of how Hitler was. But the swastika use to mean good luck or good fortune. Before Hitler came about, even the U.S. used the swastika for certain merchandise and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts had that on badges to add on to their uniforms because it was a positive message then. Then Hitler took it upon himself to destroy a good and pure meaning, Good luck or good fortune, for his own symbol and the people in the U.S. and other countries, stopped using the swastika. So the people of today who still support white supremacy and wear that symbol, they actually don’t even know it was once meant for good.
@@JMarieCAlove thank you for mentioning this✌🏼 This ancient symbol has been in Hindu culture for centuries, so sad it has such a negative connotation now
This is the most stunning border I have seen. It is an utterly harmonious blending of Victorian, gothic, and marine themes. It delves even into that grey area between Victorian and Art Nouveau. I DEFINITELY will be purchasing these if you ever market them. It is the exact sort of frieze that I have been looking years for as a tie-it together theme for my master bedroom. Your home and the care you take in decorating it is such a joy to witness. Thank you for sharing.
We,latvians, still use this symbol as it comes from our ancient culture! It's a thunder cross or fire cross here. When the rotation for the symbol is to the left,it saves against fire,so is engraved at the foundation of houses. But rotation to the right, encourages fire,so is used near fireplace. Also symbol protects against health issues and helps with luck. Symbol for the energy of Sun 🌅
This woman is a master-mind. The fact of using the elements discovered in the walls, from different times in history, takes this work of art to a whole new level. She can do anything. I'm pretty sure she can also sing and dance. And play instruments. And cook like a chef. If she can cure cancer I will not be surprised.
That mermaid border is STUNNING, the detailing and aging affects are simply sublime. It looks like it belongs on some sort of giant art nouveau/gothic submarine, in the ballroom compartment.
How sad that what was originally an ancient symbol of peace and good luck, used across the world, has become so associated with something so awful that it can no longer be used.
I follow Buddhism so it is definitely sad people see the symbol and think of evil. Even though the direction differs the association is the same. I have statues of Buddha's with the peace on their chest, no one says anything but I'm sure they think negativity but realize it's not the same.
@@redlaserfox3988 I'm assuming so yes, the pattern in the original paper where it makes the "box" shape, also looks like a swastika unfortunately, with how the lines cross at the four way and then go each direction
The symbol similar to what is in this video is still used frequently in Buddhism. It is the rotated/diamond version that was hijacked and used nefariously in history/ and is still used by less-intelligent folks who think they’re drawing a wht-power symbol and have no idea about the square symbol’s use in Buddhism. I hate to see it misused, but I do get a chuckle out of the idea of radical buddhists graffitiing locations. Radical street-art buddhists would certainly be more welcome than the ignorant folk who still try to use the symbol.
You need to have a design company and make everything from wallpaper to decorations for every holiday you are amazingly talented and your mermaid is gorgeous ❤️
Going into labour with my second child and looking for a good source of oxytocin: CHRISTINE MCCONNELL UPLOADS!!!!!! Thank you, thank you thank you, this will be an excellent start to the task/endeavour/challenge ahead
I was thinking the same thing, while I enjoy Grant's 'creepy' music I really enjoyed the more relaxing and beautiful vibe that's present in this video. Creepy is fun but relaxing and beautiful is even better. :-)
The captive has evolved into quite a musician......I do hope he never escapes. Lovely wallpaper it's drowning in beautiful details. Edit: love the pets.
You are so magically talented! I did chuckle though when you mentioned having to re-jig the Greek pattern to stop it from looking like what we all immediately saw! Thank you for putting this on your channel for non-patrons to enjoy as it is truly art of the highest quality and you are so charming (as is your furry companion!)
It's really beautiful. The face of the mermaid and her gaze is very mesmerizing to me. It has that kind of gothic, victorian but also steampunk feeling.
Of the many things I admire about this series is the fact that it shows how tenacious you are, Christine, how even in the face of a very challenging project you never give up, you keep at it never losing hope and you come out the other side with wonderful results. These videos are of such a high cinematic quality, I cannot believe how lucky we are to be able to watch them on You Tube. Also I cannot believe that only a few interviews of you exist on the web, you are so inspiring and I love listening to you while creating! Can't wait to see how this room will turn out when you finally receive this wallpaper. 😊❤👍
She’s more talented than Martha. Sorry, I don’t see the Martha appeal. Her work is reiterations of what already existed. She’s just really good at putting her overproduced merch in your face everywhere you go.
Okay, this wallpaper design and the border design just spells one name: Christine. Wow, wow, wow. Her personality and finesse just shine right through. Bravo, Chistine, I can't wait to see it installed in the room and the final reveal. I can't wait. The mermaid is so beautiful.
‘an obscene amount of time’ is really what is behind any beautiful creation. There are a lot of talented people who produce very little-they aren’t willing to put in the hours of work. And there are some who think they have no talent, not realizing even natural ability must be cultivated and improved upon. Beautiful frieze. 😊
Christine is just a jack of all trades and a master of all of them...unbelievably talented! Just thinking of her previous projects, there's nothing she can't do💖💖
I recently re-watched your Netflix series, and man did they mess up by not securing you for a second season. Not sure if you opted out or they just didn't get it, but You are incredible to watch.
OMG!!! Moments after I was thinking, "I've got to get in touch and beg her to sell that wallpaper!!" ... the best news EVER!!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!
The house we bought last year is 109 years old. The walls of one room started peeling, and under layers of wallpaper topped with paint, I found original wallpaper and ceiling paper with a small border between. There is too much old water damage from years ago before the roof was replaced. I really want to catalog it before we have to do some needed structural work, and likely destroy much of it. I just have no idea where to start. I wish I could do something as beautiful as your work here.
Take pictures! Take pictures with good light, and take many of them! Preferably with a scale and a colour scale if you want to use them in the future to recreate some of it. But just pictures will do! And then save those pictures in multiple places on multiple drives
I have no experience in this but I was also going to suggest well lit, high quality photos, then if you want to develop your skills and come back to it you always can
I also have no experience but it could be an idea to install some sort of gridlines so that you are later on able to see the size of the motives on photos. Maybe you could tape or use tape to secure a string that is visible on your wall and make sure it is spaced evenly. Good luck!
My family home had two and three layers of wall paper, hardly any pieces were good to see the original pattern and color, what I have done is just save bits that are good to have as a reference.
Lol the Swastika was pinched from an Indian symbol which was associated with peace, lol. The irony. Your illustrations and commitment to authentic detail whilst still keeping it “you” are incredible! I can’t wait for the day to see when you have got to a stage where you are done in each room. Xxx
Your talent is astonishing. Thank you for sharing. I live in a 1902 gorgeous Victorian in NH. My husband and I have worked hard to preserve it yet keep it relevant for future buyers. It's fun and a bit stressful sometimes but I wouldn't change it for anything.
That 🧜♀️ is beautiful! Her eyes…you can’t tell if she’s looking to the side, or straight at you. You gave her an illusion like they follow you. Very cool!
ah, Christine, your charisma is timeless! Usually, talented people either become professionals which kind of takes away some of the enthusiasm, or they simply 'grow out' of their passions to live a mere shadow of what once was full artistic potential. You're simply a gracious category of your own, and it's wonderful to have the pleasure of witnessing it 🥰
The thing I love most about artists. I would have stopped so early in the process. She kept adding more and I was like “Whoa!!!” Every time! I wish I were the mind to keep pushing forward.
No RU-vid channel compares to this one. You are the only person I've considered paying for their content. Truly unique and artistic but in an unconventional way.
You are truly a divine being! Stunning! I will totally purchase that wall paper. You should make it available as fabric as well. I would cover my Victorian rocking chairs with it. Thank you for being such an inspiration. Sending you love, kindness and power! A
You always teach us so much. I'm sorry I can't be a patreon person, but I love it when you upload for us others. It's so refreshing how much you know and I'm so glad that house has you as the new owner. I think you've been there almost 1 1/2 years. It is all just the right canvas for you to work your creative magic. Thanks. Take care.
you don't draw alot? your fkn AMAZING at it. gosh I'm surprised your not doing it all the time with that talent. tho obviously your passion is in doing up homes etc but dayum girl, hidden talent.
First of All I just want to say how much I adore Christine McConnell , her unending talent, creativity and beauty inside and out . I have no craft skills at all but just marvel at all her whimsical and magical creations and my God how these videos cheer me up when I’m feeling gloomy. BTW if Christine MCConnell releases a wallpaper range , I would definitely buy it 👍😀🌷🙏😻
I just love getting a Christine McConnell notification and have to get prepared to watch. I must be comfy and have a nice tea and quiet place to savor the delicous art I will consume. However, I uttered a huge sigh of relief that the Greek key was modified. It's a shame the symbol was stolen and tainted but really a wise idea to alter it for her own peice of mind but still keep the feel of it. It has the "vibe" of the orriginal with the beautiful and ever so elegant "Christine McConnell" twist. OMG that Mermaid was manificent! Looking forward to the prints! I WILL BUY!!! Actually will buy a few of them for the Mer in my life! Oh and the Photoshop save advice is much appreciated.
Breathtakingly beautiful work 🤯🤯🙌🙌 I can't get over how gorgeous that mermaid is! I just noticed that when watching your videos time seems to disappear and I'm just completely mesmerized.
I was so excited to receive the new episodes, I viewed them immediately! I would not characterize myself as a "wallpaper person". I generally don't find the patterns appealing and it just reminds me of some very bad decisions made decades ago by previous owners of my house. But...I absolutely LOVE everything about this wallpaper. The colors definitely resonate with my preferred palette and my husband and I are both divers so this underwater theme and images are just so beautiful. It does remind me of sunken treasure or a beautiful shipwreck. I really hope you do decide to make these patterns available for purchase! Thank you for inviting us into your mind for a spell. 🧜♀🔮
This is absolutely mesmerizing! Christine’s talent is mind-blowing and I love the care she puts into honoring the details of the history of her home. I’m excited to see it continue to transform!
I have said it before.....you are a genius! If you ever make spooky halloween wallpaper, I will definitely be a customer! Just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!!!
wouldn't every little mermaid looking a different direction with a different facial or body expression be awesome. Love your work. you are so talented and inspirational
Fabulous and amazing as always. But I have to say, I could help but staring at the candle closest to you while you’re on the couch. It’s the only one with a dancing/flickering flame and in some folk magick, is seen as an indicator that spirits are present..
Every time you post I expect to see some next level art and still you manage to surprise me every time how insanely good you really are and how much effort you put into the smallest details. You couldn't be further from half-assing things and I admire that.
What a master of so many things you are. It’s very impressive. I’m also profoundly grateful you stop the music when you speak. I’m forever at a loss why so many people on RU-vid put music so loud, that I can’t hear the people speak. Thanks for sharing your talents
