I'm watching this while drafting my own first sets of shoe patterns. I'm completely new into shoemaking (I've just started a 3y course) and your videos have inspired me so much. I intend to make walking boots at first, but there is lots to learn and i can't wait. Thank you so much for your lovely videos ❤
@@flightschoolcustomfootwear thank you! I'm in the Netherlands (it's becoming a lost trade here I'm afraid) and it's a craft-by-hand type of course by someone who used to teach it at a shoe school until the course was discontinued. I would love to find work as a shoemaker, but here in NL handicrafts are highly underappreciated sadly. We'll see where it leads, first I'm gonna have some fun with it ;)
@@Lundinn that's awesome! It is a dying craft but there's definitely a small surge in interest in the craft nowadays. I'm in the US and I started out making sneakers like Nikes & Jordan's but now I'm getting into the dress shoes and boots. There's a couple people in the Netherlands I've heard of that do great work. One is the Shoe Spa and there's one more bespoke maker, but I cant remember his name. I'm gonna search for him and come back
That was wonderful. Could you please add some comments, why or for what you do that marks or holes. I want to believe that I know, but I want to be sure. Appreciated!)
