Amen to that! When Delta Burke left the show it was pretty much over!! I mean I loved all the other ladies and Meshach Taylor. But it was never the same without a Delta Burke as Suzanne Sugarbaker.. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
All the amazing humor aside ( of which there is tons) when Delta thanked Meshack for being her rock when she was having panic attacks & dealing with depression... What a beautiful & real loving moment between true friends. God I loved this show & we truly need this show updated & rebooted ! Strong, beautiful women & men.
Hal Holbrook and Jean Smart's real life husband who dated Mary-jo on the show, just passed away March 18th. I love the show and the cast was so great together. Taboo topics were covered without fear or complacency. It wouldn't float these days, unfortunately.
@@stacyholmes9552 Amen to that! They actually did a lot of episodes of things that were very taboo in the late 80s early 90s. Specially about aids at the peak when things were so bad. Our president Ronald Reagan wouldn’t even talk about it until millions of people have died!! God bless The creators of the show!!
@@SuperWolsey I really wish he had been a part of that show. It was a great show but I think it would have been even better with Meshach Taylor!!! They were so great together
Amen to that.. My grandmother was like my second mama. And she loved these TV shows and I grew up watching them. Every time I watch them I feel like she’s here with me. RIP Nanny
This show helped me when living with my oldest son. He worked all the time, my other children needing help and I had car injuries at the time. Thank you for this video!!!
I had the great good fortune to be in California when the pilot was being done. I was so fortunate to be in the audience. They wanted our opinion. My reply was, “You have a HIT on your hands. Finally women portrayed as they are: intelligent, wise, far more than what we’re ever given credit for.” If I remember correctly; a woman wrote it. Of course; I said Thank you as well.
9:38 I only knew Alice Ghostley as the voice of Corriba in “Izzy’s Quest For Olympic Gold”, the animated special about the 1996 Olympic mascot, but my god she is so funny here😂😂😂
The common thread with so many of these long running classic shows is that the cast really loved and supported each other. There was so much bad press and inaccurate reporting going on when DB left the show claiming they were all so angry at her (and vice versa) but as usual it was just fake news and gossip. As we all know now, Delta's issues were with the producers.
@@ADDrecords you're the one making nasty comments against the mental health of total strangers. you exhibit too much time on your hands and not a scintilla of stable mental hygiene. and the truth still remains, no one was rooting for an anthony and suzanne romance in america.
Did you know that not everyone in america allows their party to think for them? Did you know that not everyone in america would be angry over a black man and a white woman being in a relationship? Did you know that destruction of federal property is a FELONY? Which means YEARS IN PRISON? Did you know that there are an estimated 8BILLION people living in america, and making that broad a statement makes you look like a fool? You didn’t know any of that? Ok, now you do.
@@melodiefrances3898 Anthony was a not a "flamer", nor, imo, did he "come off" as heterosexist or homophobic on the show. He had several beautiful girlfriends throughout the seasons. Meshach Taylor married his second wife in 1983 and they had three children, he also had another child with his first wife. .... PEACE.
