It's likely to need a replacement GL2 card, which we can supply - please email engineering@hpplotter.co.uk for costs (we can supply parts only or supply & fit + carry out a full service/clean/inspection and recalibration of your printer)
Hello Reynel - you may have a faulty ink cartridge but this is rare - it is more likely you have an issue with your Ink Supply Station (ISS) which needs to be replaced - unless of course you are using non-HP ink or are trying to fit the wrong ink - the ink number should be a No. 82 (C4913A). If you are in the UK please email engineering@hpplotter.co.uk for a repair estimate.
@wazup333 mmm...Anything mechanical like Planes, Trains & Automobiles ...(and printers!) always have components that "wear and tear" with use - it's the nature of the beast. If your printer is always breaking, you are either hammering it, have an environment which isn't compatible (too dirty, hot, cold, dusty) or your service company isn't servicing or repairing your printer properly. The good news is that servicing your printer regularly will extend its life, as it stops unnecessary wear and tear on components - although parts like rubber belts will still perish over time - say every 5-7 years. The main issue is not that they breakdown from time to time, but often its that they have an unerring ability to breakdown just when you need them most...like when you have an important client meeting... so we think it's always good to have Support Cover in place with a fast response - email contracts@hpplotter.co.uk if you'd like more information!
Hi, I have a problem with the power switch on the plotter. When I turn it on I have to leave it on because if I turn it off I will not turn it on. What I can do
Hello Javier - it's highly likely you have an issue with the cable/switch/power supply unit - which is purchased as a single part. You can try turning your printer off at the back - but this isn't ideal. Really you need to 'bite the bullet' and get a new power supply unit fitted. If you are based in the UK please email our engineering team engineering@hpplotter.co.uk for repair costs.
Do these take different printheads than a 500 series? (sorry no sound if you say it in this vid). i have a 500 series plotter and a 510. The 500 used number '11' printheads.
Hp instant printing is no more work on windows 10 for designjet 510 . So which program can i use instead of. Hp click not support by designjet 510 Thanks
You might want to check you are using the right driver for Windows 10 - I have included a link below and you need the top section for the driver. This will only work if you have a HP GL Card in your machine - if you don’t have one you can use the bottom section and use the HP instant printing application (you may need to update your version) support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-designjet-510-printer-series/3737526
Hi, i've problem with this plotter, on the screen appears "open window and check printhead cover is properly closed", i dont know what i must do, printhead is locked and does not exit. How fix problem?
hello Sir, Can you please tell me how to cut roll paper. I have a problem in my plotter Designjet 510 when I print the first page it can not cut automatically the pages continuously printing to the second page. how can I fix this problem?
Hello Bahadar - here are some of the reasons why your printer may not be cutting: 1. Cutter could be turned off in menu 2. Cutter could be missing, which is located on left inner cover 3. Cutter probably needs pulling out to right hand of platen and re-seating as the carriage will pick cutter up on completion of job See video link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--mkkd89G61c.html Hope that helps!
Hello Said. First check that there are no ink leaks around the printhead area and if so clean off gently and then try to reseat the new printheads - failing this it sounds like one of your maintenance kit items has failed (service station, trailing cable...etc) and it will need an engineering visit to replace the worn part(s). Have you been using HP original ink? Some customers using 3rd party inks will need the tubes to be purged. If you are based in the UK please email engineering@hpplotter.co.uk for a no obligation repair estimate.
The DesignJet 510 uses dye based colour inks. So...the ink goes from the ink cartridge, through the tubes and then into printheads which have thousands of small holes/nozzles, which in turn release the ink onto the paper. The printheads gradually get clogged and need replacing over time - but if you've done this already, then as I explained earlier, there are normally other parts that are failing to cause this issue. We can't help you further until we are in front of the machine carrying out checks. I suggest you go back to where you purchased the printer and get them to resolve the fault for you and/or get a refund - or find a competent HP engineer in Mauritius. In short, the 510 is a good printer and still can be repaired if someone has parts locally to you, but it is an older model and is EOL - and has been replaced by the DesignJet T520. A repair could potentially cost you anywhere between £149-£500 to put right (UK prices) ...depending upon what's gone wrong. Best of luck.
