@ 13:00 I thought for so long that naming a material item would be a bad thing because of the relationship it causes… I thought that we had to distance ourselves from attaching to material things but now after listening to this perspective of how our Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW named his possessions, I view it as something completely positive and something worth doing now
Same tbh but I think it goes both ways. I think the thought is that you should respect said Item because you were blessed with having it but at the same time not fall in love with the item because it’s duniya. It’s balancing life between ungratefulness and obsession with the material.
1) a person recognised that if this desire for more isn’t curbed then we will be in ruins. Have zuhd in the dunya and Allah will love and be self sufficient and the people will love you. Zuhd is like minimalism. Look at those who have less than you so you don’t ignore the favours of Allah. 2) honouring what you have. 3) give in charity. You are freeing yourself by saying to yourself I have enough. 4) look at the things you own and ask yourself if I haven’t worn it in the past six months then get rid of it. Seek happiness from the one who owns it.
