Just to add something, to make it more clear (What you said was not wrong, it just could be misunderstood), is you can extend past 180 days, once per entry. So you could enter, extend to 360 days, leave and come back, and then extend the second stay for 360 as well. There is no limit to the number of times you can extend, but you can only do it once per entry.

Thank you for all the information on the DTV. It is refreshing to have someone give their experience on getting the visa and then saying that certain items they don't know. Other youtubers will give info they have no idea about just to get views. You are a breath of fresh air. I will be subscribing today. Best of luck with your channel and enjoy your travels.

The purpose of these videos is not knowing if someone is honest enough saying I don't know or throwing info randomly pretending to know it all. The purpose should be having thorough actual knowledge of the subject and once ready to deliver it you come out with a video explaining all the aspects and options from A to Z. Sorry, I don't want to embarrass anyone here but understand there are tons of people talking about the same thing and it gets ever more confusing by insufficient or distorted knowledge making it absolutely worthless to watch.

Just wanted to thank you for making this video. I tried joinng the Facebook group and pending approval. I'm living in Thailand now and will apply as a freelancer. My goal is to fly to Cambodia with the hopes that the process will take no more than 5 business days. Your video helped me set expectation that it's possible Cambodia will ask for up to 6 months bank statements, and it's best to apply in person. Also, I tried to confirm the specifics on the website for Cambodia the actual link on their site for DTV redirects to the the wrong VISA type so it's currently not possible to confirm anything on their site. Wish me luck, lol! Thanks again for taking the time to share!

Oh, last question (sorry for all the questions, but at least it helps the RU-vid algorithm :)), When you did this, did you already hold some form of Thai Visa? Curious if I can switch to this while I already have one. Cheers

@@aniquefleur i do wonder when it activates, is it when you enter thailand for the first time and get that first stamp, or date when it is issued, meaning if like you i get my DTV Issued in vietnam and after issued i decide to spend a month or 3 in japan lets say then enter thailand does it start once u get it issued or when you enter, hope it makes sense

@aniquefleur
@aniquefleur День назад
Hee, thanks for your reply. I´m wondering, where does this feeling of doubt come from? Personally, I have not seen your visa approval, so its a bit hard to help you with this. The date of the DTV should be on the visa, beginning date and end date with a 5 year time period in between. Entering Thailand in between this period makes you eligable for entry, make sure to share that you have this visa and that you would like to use it. Cheers Anique

Did they tell your paperwork was good BEFORE taking the payment?
@aniquefleur
@aniquefleur 13 дней назад
They didnt officially said it was approved, but they checked everything before and asked for additional information before taking the payment. From all the offline visa applications I did with Thailand, it has been like this, also with tourist visa. Now they go to the online application, and I don´t know how that works with this as I assume you have to pay during application, so it might be different. I did hear they ask for additional information when needed during the process, but I don´t know what happens if you are not able to comply when the visa fees are paid. I recommend to check this specifically.

Hello. Thanks again for the info. Here is my situation, and concern. I have been living in Thailand for 4 years now, as I am married to a Thai woman, and am on a partner visa. I work out of New Zealand and have had the same full-time job from there for the last 8 years, and financially am not concerned. However, I would like to migrate to this VISA, as it's more convenient to have. In November, my visa will expire if I don't renew it, so the plan was to take a trip to New Zealand in November and apply for this visa while I am there. The only issue is I don't actually live in NZ, so I will have no proof of residency. Did you have to show an electric bill, rental agreement, or anything that proves you are living in the country you were applying from? Cheers.

Hi there, officially you apply in the country where you currently at. I could show a tourist visa stamp of Vietnam and a proof of accommodation where I was staying at that moment. this was an Airbnb in my case. From third party stories, I heard that in some countries showing a local driving license is enough for proof of residence. Hope this helps.

Hi Anique. After getting approved for the DTV Visa, what was the process for getting through the immigration check point a Thailand airport (for the first time with the DTV)? Was it a quick and easy process? Did they ask you a bunch of questions? Or did they simply stamp your passport in a few seconds? Thanks!
@aniquefleur
@aniquefleur Месяц назад
Ah yeah, good question. I think it was one of the first times that the immigration lady saw this visa as she contacted colleagues. I felt vulnerable of something going wrong because of this, but they asked standard questions like purpose of stay and how long I´m going to stay in Thailand. Although the last question seemed to be more out of curiosity. After, they stamped me 180 days. Recently, I received the information on a 90 day report obligation in Thailand, where you´ll need to share your place of stay during report. Report is obligated when staying 90 days or more. Thanks and cheers

He, I dont know if you have been missing information in the video? I hope this is more clarity for you: It is a 180 days stamp per entry for 5 years. Thanks for wachting!

I just got approved for my DTV visa also, I applied online as I'm in Europe, I take it I just arrive to Thailand and they will have my visa on there system now? because when online they make you pick an embassy anyway which was London for me. they did send me a little receipt with a QR code, I take it I just show this to the immigration and I'll get my 180 day stamp?
@aniquefleur
@aniquefleur Месяц назад
He yes, congratulations! Thanks for sharing. I did my application offline and not online. So I have not been in a similar situation like that. Nevertheless, when applying for another country online, for example Vietnam, I printed my visa and showed it at immigration and i received the stamp related to that visa. I assume it is the same with this visa in Thailand. When I arrived they asked me the purpose and length of stay and after answering they gave me the 180 days stamp. I was very excited to receive so much on this stamp. I heard that you have to do 90 days report when staying longer term. Will be new for me to, but something for you to take into account as well. Good luck.

Do you have to pay the $340 before they approve you?… meaning, it is possible you might pay $340 and then be denied the visa? 😮
@aniquefleur
@aniquefleur Месяц назад
He thats a valid concern. Offline, I noticed that they check all your documents beforehand and if they want more documents they request for it. Officially, it is on the papers that they can, but actually I have not heard or experienced a situation so far where they denied visa after taking into the fees. Meaning, once they collected the 340 dollar, it is very likely you will receive your visa. This might be different with online application though, as I understand that you have to pay the fees before document check. I don´t have experience with this, so I don´t know.

@@aniquefleur The Thai bank account allows you to use a local QR code payment system. I see this as very useful because almost every business (like a small cafe or shop) works with it. Using credit cards is uncommon; if yes, it usually comes with a 3% fee. The big challenge is that in 2024 the Thai banks became very strict regarding opening new accounts for tourist/temp visas. So very interesting how they treat the DTV visa holder. P.S: Like your channel, hope to see the first 1000 subscribers soon :)
