I love the gravity of our characters’ line. They’re saying, ‘Do you know who I am? I’ve killed gods. I’m the most powerful Guardian in the City. And I’m using all that power to kill this murderer. I dare you to stop me.’

When my guardian broke, for the first time, broke the vow of silence, I got chills man, chills. Teary chills.

This was the moment when the dlc went from having fun to outright pure revenge

when I first heard the character go: "you won't have to" I thought "oh that is a cool sounding person, who just entered the room?" *turns out to be our character* me: well, you know a man is dead when the quite one who has never uttered a word since his start as a guardian speaks one line to vow vengeance on someone else.

When the one legendary guardian is dead silent but opens his mouth to say hes gonna clap your ass

AFTER A DECADE OF NO TALKING, MY GUARDIAN IS MASTER CHIEF!!!

I just loved how for Cayde that even with losing his Ghost Sundance, and even with Uldren mocking him, he still had to get a good burn on him by asking him how Mara is. At least even as crazy as it was, Cayde got justice when Uldren was put down.

Ikora: This is Cayde we’re talking about. For us to do nothing is...is... Zavala: Say it. Ikora: *Cowardice.* Zavala: I refuse to bury anymore friends. Guardian: ...You won’t have to. Uldren Sov...is *mine.* When the Guardian states they’ll do something, you’re gonna need something a lot stronger than an army to stop them.

Everyone gangsta until our guardian say: "he is mine"

Who else rides a tank and yells "FOR CAYDE!!"

That moment when a hunter walks in the same room sees Caydee 6 dead body and simply says give me a big gun and an hour in the most terrifying voice ever

I just realized we never let Cayde hear our voice before he died

Me, before Cayde's death: It's absolutely unforgivable, the way that some of our enemies wipe out entire civilizations on a whim. Also me, immediately after Cayde's death: Nothing wrong with a little light genocide from time to time.

Crying knowing Cayde never got to hear the guardian speak 😭 it would have been a perfect moment to give the guardian a short piece of dialogue right before Cayde was gone

You see I don't play destiny, so when I saw my friend crying from the game I asked what happened. "They will pay" ME: What? " THey're going to die for that"

I was a hunter in destiny 1 and I was a hunter in destiny 2. Losing Cayde was brutal. He was my favourite character in the entire franchise and I swear to god I have never had as much joy killing a video game boss. Putting a bullet through Uldren’s head brought me so much happiness and at the same time sadness. I was happy to have avenged Cayde but I was so sad to know that this was the end of his story.

One can only imagine the scene and aftermath of the guardians return, not with good nes, but the biggest tragedy since the disaster at the moon of losing a thousand guardians. *Guardians ship comes out of hyperspace into Earths orbit, hailing the vanguard* Zavala: Welcome back guadians. Glad to see you safe. I take it the mission was a success then? Ghost: no...no sir... Zavala: *sigh* ever since the queen died, the reef has been falling apart. No matter, send cayde to us so we can get a proper sit-rep. Ghost: actually sir, its...far worse than just a failed mission... Zavala: what do you mean? Ghost: Zavala...cayde, hes... Zavala: no...*line goes dead* *once they reach the hanager, theres already a scene, medics and shaxx himself are present with the entire hanager crew gathered at the landing spot, as Ikora runs in, shouting* Ikora: One way everyone, give him space to land!! *once it did and the landing platform opened, the lone guardian steps out, pulling beside him not a loot craye, but a stretcher with a ragged torn black canvas, the remains of a ghost on it. Everyone gasps in disbelief. Not just a guardian, but a vanguard eliet, was actually dead.* Ikora: no... Zavala, having arrived: Guardian, what the hell happened up there!? *the ghost explains the entire mission, play for play. Citing they dont inow WHAT exactly happened after they lost sigh of cayde, but they had a killer, and a location.* Shaxx: Then I for one say our next mission is clear: Bring this escaped assassin to justice, and avenge our fallen comrade! Zavala: NO-ONE is doing anything without our approval! *he sighs* we...we need to make arrangements first at least. *Ikora was already taking caydes body from the hangar to the central tower interior* *A day later, the news in the last city was ablaze with the the tragic report* News: Fellow city people and guardians alike...theres no easy way to tell you this. One of the guardians best, one of the vanguard heads...cayde-6 was killed in action...a mission at the reef went badly awry, and his killer...an awoken by the name "Uldren Sov" is now at large. Theres not yet any word of the vanguard is yet planning retaliation, but today, the city, its guardians, and indeed the traveler itself, weeps in mourning of a truely couragous man. In the many heartfelt comments, rage was also a common show amng guardians. Hunter #1: Whatever the vanguard decides, we're bringing Uldrens head back on a pike!! Warlock: We will scour every rock in that reigon to find caydes killers. They WONT get away with this! News: but perhapse the most impactful guesture came from the crucibles own Lord Shaxx, and a visiting Lord Saladin. "Today, we are ALL hunters" *cue to that night, a city-wide vigil is held in caydes honor, as peopke arrange candles in the formation of the hunters symbol, the vanguard logo, and caydes signature mark, the Ace of Spades. One could swear the traveler itself was singing a mournful tune as the tiny flames rose to the stars.*

Zavala : I refuse to bury any more friends. Guardian : You won't have to, Uldren Sov is mine. Is this the Guardian's way of telling Zavala "We're not friends".

This is still the best cinematic in all of Destiny (both bases games and all expansions) for so many reasons. The amount of characterization both Zavala and Ikora get here, to not just be told their personality, but SHOWN them is huge. From Ikora displaying and then owning her fury, to Zavalla really showcasing he puts "duty" first and foremost. This is also the last scene (at least of Jan/2021 when comment is written) that we ever see these 2 interact. This funeral isn't just the death of Cayde, it's the death of this fire-team. Ikora and Zavalla are divided after this, since Cayde-6 was the "heart" of the vanguard and without him their is no emotional bond left. Then the ending this breathtaking and sad dynamic with having our guardian speak for the first time since vanilla destiny, is the final nail in the coffin of what makes this cinematic so freaking powerful. Just so good on so many levels.

Its almost been a year and I can say this He's been avenged and still being avenged

Is it odd that I really love the dialogue here? "I refuse to bury any more friends." "You won't have to." Like I just really like this. Not only is it a direct challenge to Zavala and his authority, but it also has so many implications. 'We are not friends,' and 'you won't bury me' and 'how do you plan on stopping me?' Idk I just think it's neat

I’m so upset. The more I got into the game and the lore, the more I loved Cayde’s character and the more I resented Bungie vaulting all of forsaken. I barely arrived in time to hear our guardian speak a few words which untill recently I did not know was so impactful because we’ve been in silence for half a decade. I did not get to experience forsaken, Cayde. Now, no one ever will, ever again. People paid for that expansion. Grant them some right to access the stuff they paid for. More so, let all these new players, all those who flocked in return for Witch Queen, bestow upon them the right to know personally, who this legend of a hunter was. The notorious Cayde-6

Cayde-6 death, broke my heart. Now Lance, our Commander Zavala, is just too painful. RIP, Lance.

We are Hunters. We lost our Vanguard. He may have not been the best at being a team player. Always wanting to go alone even when the situation may have not been survivable. Yet he did it anyway. Cause he was a Hunter and he gambled. He won and lost many bets. Though he always had a way of making any dire situation into a funny one. And now he is gone. Without him what will we do as Hunters? What would Cayde do? Probably something stupid and reckless. Cause that was Cayde. What will we do as Hunters? Simple. We are Hunters. We are getting revenge.

I literally sat in my chair in silence after he said “The Vanguard...is the best bet... I ever... Lost....” then he died. I didn’t say a word and it was during the night and it was so quiet when it happened
