I have actually decided to further my own pain in order to grant Nezarec tribute, by making it a goal of mine to solo flawless each dungeon in the game. And I can confirm that it is a multi-hour loop for both the Ecthar AND Simmumah fights
@@Dmaz1337 What if I need to bring him at Oryx's left foot, and he fucks off to the top of his head? Asking for science :))) Love the rest of this dungeon, but I _HATE_ that knight.
Oryx's Theme being interwoven into the mix goes hard, and to top it off the emblem is called *REGICIDE* edit: also this boss's moth attacks has the warlock strand super animation
The exotic, the navigator, is based around some of oryx’s nicknames, that use the word “navigator”, and to top it off, the set is called the “Taken King” Set, to top all of it off.
@@adamboy0559 Oryx is the eldest; Oryx is referred to the following First Navigator First Navigator of Phase Spaces Great Navigator The rifle we get is a nickname to him, Xivu misses him and Savathun. The witness has nothing to do with it
The mix of oryx theme tho sounds so good. It isn’t extremely overwhelming probably to resemble he’s dead whist the lucent hives theme is much more clear as they are the dominant hive force currently.
0:00 Oryx & Savathûn 2:00 Zulmak 2:21 Golgoroth 3:08 Gahlran 3:20 Oryx 3:50 Crota Bungie loves to mix up the themes. I might add that when I first met her, the Titan theme was used, so maybe there are other themes in the mix? Did everyone notice all the themes?
Hopefully they give xivu some equally awesome theme music. I’d personally go with a metal guitar to start with signifying the sky’s cracking with lightning then as she descends tribal war drums as the ground shakes and then a combination of the two as her battlecry signals the beginning of a true bloody war
@@adamboy0559 hopefully, it just dawned on me recently that Xivu Arath doesnt have any leitmotifs yet, hopefully she wont get killed of in the Final Shape :3
@@user-oo3oi9ki2j yeah I just think it makes sense. Why play the 2 known hive god themes then a third unknown? It has to be part of xivu’s. And for her death tbh I think she should. Tie up all the lose ends of this saga. We have killed the taken king. Defected the witch queen. Killed beings that believe them self as higher than gods Rhulk/nezarec. We killed the largest ahmakara that is also taken. We’ve even killed a worm god. Ending the saga off with xivu being killed makes sense. She is the last of the hive gods and there main leader currently. Those who still serve savatun will soon become allies hopefully as we will offer the witch queen peace in order to defeat the witness and I feel like the promise of her sisters death as well will sweeten the deal in her eyes. Savathun is hated by xivu as she allows necromancy to start with which most hive see as barbaric. I see her end being during final shapes either campaign or as a raid boss. Would be cool if they let the luccent hive and the red legion join in on the fight. For the campaign they help us perhaps stun her to deal a massive amount of damage. Or for a raid encounter for final stand we’d need to activate something to allow them to enter the arena to help finish her off but for a raid I don’t see that happening. Tho if it does and done right so it’s not easy at but rather just a cool interaction we get to finish the light and dark saga off. She destroyed the cabals homeworld so they would all want revenge. The luccent hive are shunned by any who follow xivu or even the remains of Croats and oryx hive forces.
Random, but my favourite unintentional part of the track is when you do enough damage to trigger the phase 3 version of DPS at the near end of a phase where 1 or 2 is playing. Makes the phase feel more significant
I made a prediction that they were reviving oryx down there, since i wanted a story related to that for a LONG time... and i was so happy to walk into the arena and see his head
The theory’s are true after so long. How did his body manage to get so deep tho and how long have the lucent hive been trying to force a ghost to revive oryx
@adamboy0559 The keyword here is "Force". Because I don't think there is a single ghost that exists that hasn't at least heard about the Taken King. And knows what kind of trouble he can be. Especially if given even more power.
@@MREric083 will he still be the taken king tho we have seen the witness has become the new taken leader and oryx’s worm is gone. I think personally if he was revived he’d have no one to remind him of the sword logic and his old way of conquering. He’d be made the lucent hives enforcer and potentially leader even if savathun was revived. We know the light removes memories so he’d have to be told of his old ways and the only person I see doing that is xivu who very clearly mourned her brothers death
@@MREric083 I still want to know how oryx remains managed to get so deep into the ocean without anyone knowing. A body of a god landing on a planet wouldn’t exactly be quite
Kinda hilarious how much better this dungeon is compared to Root of Nightmares. I’m glad too cause after SotW and RoN I was worried the raid and dungeon team were running out of ideas.
Hot take: the concept and impact on the story of this dungeon is raid-level important Hotter take : Ron should have been a dungeon and ghosts should have been a raid
I think this would have been awesome. more underwater exploration/mechanics/encounters. Imagine them getting close to succeeding with the rez and facing a zombie/semi-reborn oryx as the boss? That would have been a monumentally epic raid. Then toning down RON into less encounter and nezzy being a dungeon boss. It actually would have fit imo. after all that said though, I am hoping Oryx will still play another part in future dlc somehow.
@@CarlosToribio-os1vfHe has to Play amore important role in the story. The Hive know where his body is and it's too be to dig out and hide from the Hive. Eyes are going to have to be on Titan around the clock until we deal with the Witness. And like Xivu said no guardian has taken up the mantle of taken king since his death, so she might do so and become the Taken Queen. And it only makes sense otherwise why have the taken continued to play a roll in the story even if just in the background.
@@Chckenthecoolrooster He may not be able to beat Oryx in a fight, but outside of the Witness itself, he has hurt us the most and has had the most impact on Sol as a whole out of any enemy we’ve faced - even more than Oryx. The Witness may lead the Pyramids and anyone who follows it, and gave the order to attack Sol, but Nezarec was the one who actually *led* that assault.
everytime I listen to dps phase, it always gets in my head that michael said, "what if the traveler got to the hive first, what would their guardian theme sound like"
Can’t lie I hate spire so I can’t say I like his theme more this dungeon to me plus the fact it’s got so much integrated into it like oryx theme bit of savathuns for me makes it better.
I’m not sure if many people realise this or not (I haven’t heard anyone mentioned it so far) but ‘Long live the king’ is very much in this song. It’s just slowed waaaay down.
We swap from Rockets to precision weapons meanwhile is have one friend using Thunderlord. Should have run div with 2 Thunderlords so we could kill her faster but eh. 2 linear and a thunderlord still works
I noticed some Temple of Crota woven into the ost. Damn, this is fire. Too bad i gave up on Destiny 2. I'm not coming back until I see how final shape pans out... I'm tempted to return to visit though
Roman Warrior records the music in-game. There are other music channels that rip the music files from the packages so a couple ways to get unreleased music.
I just hate this boss in general, unlike Ecthar which can be fun, this one is just pure pain. Also it is the buggiest dungeon encounter in the game and yes I spent a VERY long time in Duality ( Which i still think is a harder solo dungeon ). Nothing more fun than the Moth's teleporting ontop of you or one of the symbols just being wrong for some reason. I love Oryx though so it is cool I get to kiss him. Wait he is dead nevermind pretend I didn't say that.
@@Breshi123 Yeah I loved SotW music because it was different and didn't rely on the guardian theme. As for RoN, Nezarec's theme does have it before DPS.
I get where you’re coming from, but I also get the Guardian Motif in this dungeon. This is a skirmish between guardians, part of a long lasting civil war between lightbearers, it’s likely for them as much as it is for us
@@Chwarzerd Yeah ik it probably makes sense lorewise. It's just so disappointing to me when I hear that fkin theme in every piece of new music that releases haha.
