Note: two other bosses can spawn besides Urzok in different locations. Driviks is a Taken Fallen that spawns in a ravine near the portal spawn, Ta'aurc spawns under the roots.

Guys there's a grass room skip! As soon as you get in the big room, turn around to face the light and the ramp that you came in on and slide in the shadows. Its 2 minutes save! Spread the word!

This is the most excited I've been for Destiny in a long time. As soon as I saw that post about the Io lost sector i LFG'd some people and we checked it out. We ended up playing for like 5 hours just trying to do this mission. I was in awe of how much effort went into this mission. If only we could have something this exciting every few months.

There is no way in hell I'm ever pulling something like this off. But, I can't help but be amazed by the people who can actually do this sort of stuff.

Love how they brought back D1 bosses like Driviks, Urzok and Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip of Freehold.

It’s so weird coming back 5 years later to get a refresh on mechanics and seeing snipers and shotguns on the heavy slot. Also not having any healing grenades or scorch damage. Very nostalgic but definitely don’t miss it.

The first part about Urzok in the public event is incorrect, you're guaranteed a boss spawn but 1 of the 3 bosses from the end of the mission will spawn around The Lost Oasis in different locations. Urzok is the most visible at the cliffside, but one can also spawn in the rock canyon west of Urzok, and another in a canyon at the southern end of the map (by the Injection Rig PE)

He said urzok and I immediately had nam flashbacks to d1 cosmodrome...the enemy sides are moving against each other 😖

Oh the good old days of grinding out this mission and carrying people from my clan for the OP exotic sniper that basically has infinite ammo until bungie decided to nerf it into oblivion

Stuff like this is what I've always wanted Destiny to be/return to: a mid and end-game filled with missions where its not as large scale or as difficult as a raid but are still hard enough to require a little bit of pre-planning, comms, skill and a smudge of luck. Like you said in the video it gives me VOG vibes and I'm so happy to feel those feels again. Frankly, this mission, from what's around at the moment is the only thing other than nightfalls that isn't ridiculously complicated/difficult like the raid and the lairs and not super casual and unrewarding like the regular game and crucible. Nice to see something in D2 finally give us a FUN challenge.

my fireteam literally finished the mission with 0 seconds left on the clock. got the weapon, but didn't unlock the heroic version. hopefully this wasn't a 24 hour availability lol.

Rip I'm only 367 light. This quest will probably become a lot easier when forsaken comes out as we can get up to almost double the light level.

Just a heads up, it doesn't have to be that exact public event. As long as the public event is in the Lost Oasis, you can kill the boss. He spawns in one of 3 different areas. Just got my Whisper of the Worm over the weekend. Good luck.

There is a knight, a captain and a centurion when the event starts. It can be 1 of 3 spawn locations to get the portal. It's not just the one guy.

Finally something with a little bit more difficulty to it!! These are the kinda exotic quests D2 NEEDS desperately. I myself haven’t gotten it but I INTEND to get it.

This has been the most exciting thing I've experienced since I started playing Destiny. I didn't play D1 until earlier this year when my clan went back with me to guide me through the story/raids so I missed out on all the cool stuff that went on in that games lifespan.

When in yhe rooms with the holes you jump through on sides of walls just go yo right and go all the down last one it will take you straight to grass jump room.

Started playing Destiny 2 last week Thursday for the first time and I got Whisper of the Worm this week friday thanks to this video :D

All the parkour and vex architecture brings me back to year one glitching into the vault of glass to explore it

I bet for the LFG 90% have “NO WARLOCK” in the title.

This quest actually isn't really hard. The only really annoying thing about it is waiting for the Taken Blights. I was able to get the jumping puzzle down to about 4 minutes and made it to the boss room with my fireteam at around 13:30 minutes left. I wouldn't use Sleeper. We had a Titan with Polaris Lance and a linear fusion rifle. An Arcstrider with Polaris Lance and EP shotgun (void) and an Arcstrider with the Ikelos SMG and Tractor Cannon. We completed with 2 minutes left, although we took our time, probably could have completed with around 5 or 6 minute left.

This is the kind of content I miss. The whole decent into hell feeling just makes it feel so epic.

I love how when Datto posts a video, it gets maybe 100k views, but when he posts a guide it gets like a million views in a week. It's so obvious Datto is the go to for this kind of stuff. Still love the vids regardless Datto. Keep it up!

So, this is now the best weapon in the game for stationary boss damage, raids specifically. Great. With all of my friends gone, clans being dead, and LFG being a 50/50 shot of finding someone who's even played the game before, I don't think I'll ever get this done. I like how they actually give us a mission that feels like an exotic quest, something to really hunt for, but as a result of nothing else in the game being this hard or rewarding this well, this is now the best gun in the game for raiders and boss killers, period. Imagine the damage of six high impact sniper rifles with essentially infinite ammo, all benefiting from the masterwork perk. Every final boss in the raids will go down like you're slicing through butter with a hot knife. As much as I loved the Black Hammer's reign of terror in Destiny 1, I was ultimately glad it was nerfed. Now, they're bringing it back and it's better than ever, and only the best players with teams are going to be able to get it. I know that's a good thing, but it's not when nothing else in the game compares to it. Keep doing things like this with a bit more variety, and this can become one hell of a game again.

Just got it myself and if my testing was consistent and good enough the damage of this rifle in 1 shot is almost double the damage of the ikelos which btw (if im right) is the same as darci, and this is without the masterwork if its like box breathing is a 50% damage buff so ya the damage on this rifle is beyond god like. Only thing i don't like is the shot sound has no kick to it lol

Quick tip:the taken enemy that ur supposed to kill during the taken blight public event isn’t always a Knight, it’s either gonna be a taken knight,a taken centurion,or a taken keel(fallen)

Quick note there's a quick 2 to 3 minute time save in the big open room were you scale the mossy walls. As soon as you enter the room look to your right and there's a lamp. If you go behind the lamp into the corner there's a shortcut that skips that entire room.

Datto, there are a couple things you missed, the reason Urzok didn't spawn, is because he is one of three bosses that will spawn, one will always spawn for the blight, and they all work to open the portal, The taken knight, a taken captain, or a taken centurion, the three bosses at the end, and the blights in the mission, no matter the room, have no impact upon anything

Wait, if this is like d1, then there will be a secondary time gate on there, wouldn’t there be? Back in D1, you could only get it on certain weeks, so what if you could only get this on Flashpoint: Io weeks. If so, then i’m screwed, because I won’t be able to play this weekend. WHY BUNGO!

Ah shit these the good days

Getting this took me six tries, one of wich was with one friend, the other was with two. Got it last night with 10 seconds left. I would never have gotten this if it wasn't for the shortcuts and speedrunning guides i've been watching after atempt 1 and 2. Getting it was really gratifying! There's really nothing else to do in destiny forsaken than to gather more triumph score and hunt old exotics.

Im pretty confident about getting this done myself. Just considering watching you never use your shield and not using your super when you shouldve and still getting it done makes me confident

It's really cool that this hidden quest was found. A lot of folks have been begging for unique quests like this. My only problem with it is how fucking complicated they had to make it. I will never be bothered to bang my head against this for one gun.

If Urzok doesn't spawn, check the cave/tunnel on the far side near the tree. A taken centurion can spawn there and that's what you'll need to kill to get the portal to spawn. Found this on accident. Hope it helps!

I just KNEW that if Black Spindle were to return, Bungie would restore the White Nail perk to its original state. There was simply no other way it could keep up with DARCI otherwise. However, what I did NOT expect is that the catalyst would give this gun "Box Breathing". Wtf? Bungie always react in extreme ways. When people call for nerfs, they nerf stuff into oblivion. When people whine that exotics are weak, they buff them the hell up. And when people complained that Destiny is no longer a "power fantasy", they introduced those new subclasses AND this gun, which is even superior to the original Black Hammer. Damn, imagine what would happen if they reintroduced Gally. If our darling were to return, its catalyst would probably restore its power to Destiny Y1 levels...

The big ledge jumping room with that 8-bit music has a starting point that you guys ignored all the way on the bottom of the left wall, so Warlocks can do that part, just not from that area that you guys went on.

Wait WTF? We killed Urzok. How was he Taken? Furthermore, how is he there for the final battle if you can possibly kill him to start the quest in the first place? Something's bringing him back. There's another Necromancer out there. Either that or Nokris isn't truly dead.

@Datto; there's a shortcut after the portal section. Once in that room; you go to the rocks near the entrance you came in from. There is a hole in the shadows you can take which will cut out the rest of the jumping parts and take you to the ledge leading to the door that leads to the Taken enemies!

This is what destiny 2 needed. Difficult hidden missions to get a crazy good sniper.
