Before the season ends, I want to talk about the Palindrome. It's currently living in the shadows of the 120 rpms and that's a shame, but maybe for not much longer. I go through why it's elite and I really do hope you got a good roll. I give ranges, perk combinations, and how it stacks up to other 140s including the upcoming Iron Banner Finite Impactor. To me, it's a very special weapons. One that should stay around for a very long time.

Yo quick question, after the first half of nxt season, would it be back still as a featured weapon for the week or is it gonna be all 3 guns as potential post game rewards. Pali just feels great btw. None of my (I think I got 9 total) rolls are particularly good but they all are hella fun to use. Was one lvl short of gms so that was a rip tho lol.

Pali is a legendary Ace of Spades. At least, that’s how it feels when I use it. Great gun, great feel and totally agree with what you said about this being great for both pve AND pvp. I’d argue that can’t be said for 90% of HC’s (especially 120’s) out there right now. Great video and good to know about the bottomless grief update being applicable to currently owned Pali’s AND ones we’ll get in season 14. Appreciate the content!

After watching this, went through my vault and found the same roll you had cool guy, but it wasn’t an adept Pali. Full bore, amor piercing rounds, bottomless grief and range finder with a stability MW class. I was only able to get 3 adept Pali’s. One I absolutely love has a hammer-forged barrel, option to use either High Caliber rounds or Ricochet, bottomless grief and Rampage. I’d argue the HC Rounds are better in PVP for the purpose of flinch, specifically, but I’ve been waiting to try it in crucible once the bottomless grief perk is updated

After a number of GM completions with no Pali once I finally got it I decided to call it a day. Got full bore/extended barrel, ricochet/armour piercing, subsistence and rampage with handling MW. Only adept mods I got were adept range and targeting so with adept range and masterworkeded I have 85 range. It’s good, no doubt, but I’m in no rush to use it over my basic igneous with hammer forged, ricochet, rapid hit, rampage with handling masterwork. After 120’s get reigned in I might pick it up again

Genuinely, overflow + rangefinder feels soooo good in pvp. Sure, I wish I had killing wind on my adept one, but the amount of times I kill someone because they re-peek me after a few shots go off is crazy. 20-21 round mag feels so sick.

I did a GM Nightfall for the first time on Friday with my friends, and I got an Adept Palindrome with Corkscrew Rifling, High Caliber Rounds, Overflow, Rampage, and a Range masterwork for my first one ever. Needless to say, ecstatic.

@@codywood173 What is roll Extended Barrel/Hammer Forged-Ricochet-KW-RF with a Stability MW would be the only possible combinations to hit those stats. You're lucky as hell if you got this roll. I got a Smallbore-Ricochet-KW-RF, but my MW is reload speed.

Great in depth review! I've been using palindrome in a bunch of game modes and agree with most points in this video (especially the pve red bar part - I find base palindrome sometimes can't oneshot headshot trash mobs!). The biggest advantage I feel it has over 120s right now is how snappy it feels. The higher stability and handling, especially with something like killing wind rangefinder, makes for smoother target acquisition, especially at range in pvp. I've found it's easier to hit shots with it than some 120s, and I really do hope the upcoming 120 nerf will give it its time to shine!

I farmed Palindrome quite a bit and got some decent PvP rolls, but the PvE roll I got is straight from my dreams. Subsistence and One for All with a mag extension. I know people aren't too keen on Subsistence, but I love it and it might get a buff next season aswell, so yeah I'm not putting this hand cannon down anytime soon!

I have an adept range MW, with fluted, ricochet, quickdraw and range finder. It's incredible. I got it on my penultimate GM nightfall before reset. I'm in love with it. Pairs well with chaperone.

I have a Palindrome roll with Hammer Forged, High Cal, Overflow, and Range Finder - love using it on tighter pvp maps. For longer range maps I use my Bottom Dollar with Polygonal Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Feeding Frenzy, and Opening Shot. They have both served me well!

Just FYI. Extended barrel gives that full range and fixes the recoil direction. You don’t feel the handling deduction on this hand cannon. Love it.

I ended up running the GM strike about 65 + times. I got about 6 really good rolls. My favorite is Quick draw and Range finder. Full Bore, Ricochet Rounds, Quick Draw, Rangefinder and Masterwork Handling. With Adept Range I get 85 range. Rangefinder add 20% more range. Love it!

6:05 Do consider one of the several recoil control barrels. 98 recoil may not seem like too much to affect aim, but if you directly compare with a 100 recoil 140, you'll see the difference, and later notice it in live fire. Also, gotta love that buzzer beater win at the end.

I experiencing the same thing. Got one with hammerforged + ricochet, and one with extended barrel + light mag. 10 stability difference yet I had a better time landing quick consecutive hits with the latter.

@@niekvanderkam Consistent recoil makes for better muscle memory. The only reason why I keep/use my g-roll Waking Vigil while using Icarus is because the maxed out Aim Assist seems to be enough to account for inconsistency with recoil.

I do have a Pali with Fullbore, RR, Overflow and Rangefinder, but I also have one with Subsistence and HI Reserves. Bungie did say that they're planning to buff underused perks, and I'm pretty sure they meant more than Bottomless Grief and Celerity. My hope is that they buff both, if not at least one of these perks. They already work super well together!

I've got Full Bore, Ricochet Rounds, Killing Wind, High Impact Reserves, Range MW. Completely love it. I'd really love RangeFinder, but unless they give me a way to take it off one of my spares to put on this, I don't think I'll be getting anything better. It performs fantastically on MnK

I get it. ETA: I have a killing wind/rampage roll that I used during the last IB for lulz. It was a lot of fun, and that D1 hand cannon sound effect is addictive. I got a slightly different killing wind/rampage roll with slightly better range and slightly worse stability that I’m going to try out as well. Personally, I find rangefinder really jarring on hand cannons and stay away from the perk, though I do seem to have a killing wind/rangefinder roll sitting in the vault if I ever feel like giving it another try. Sadly it’s a reload masterwork with flared magwell , but I guess they can’t all be god rolls…

I got incredibly lucky at the beginning of the season. One of the first Palindromes I got, possibly the first one in general since I only have like 2 and 1 adept. But, one of them was Chambered Compensator + Alloy Mag + Killing Wind + Rangefinder with a range masterwork. I loved the hell out of it but once Igneous came out, it just felt harder and harder to use, to duel 120s. I hope I can go back to using Palindrome once the 120 nerf hits. I'm much more comfortable with 140s. But I've been having to use my Killing Wind + Rampage Igneous Hammer to stay competitive. I also want to go back to Palindrome because it sounds and feels AMAZING and visually looks like it goes with my Eye of Sol.

My Adept Palindrome with Killing Wind...Rampage is the GOD ROLL. I have an adept Icuras Mod on it which gives it a: Range of 80 (it becomes 100 Range when Killing Wind is procked)! Killing wind makes my Handling of 53 to go up 40 to 93 Handling! It’s basically Rangefinder and QuickDraw in one perk! Killing Wind is highly underrated since you need to prock it. Keep in mind it’s just like a Damage perks like Rampage and Killclip that require a kill to prock. No one is complaining about those perks and neither should we about killing wind!

I've only gotten 3 drops of this, and haven't used any of them yet. I'm not good with 140s in crucible, and I've been crutching my truthteller with blinding nades in PvE. Honestly, I'm really looking forward to the suros handcannon coming in IB next season, and will probably (hopefully) switch back to an energy primary with it. So maybe palindrome will make its way into my rotation at that time. (Sorry, I know I'm not really adding to the palindrom discussion directly.)

I got a Pali to drop with corkscrew/full bore, armor piercing/flared mag, subsistence, one for all. My first thought was 'meh,' but as I looked at it more I realized that trying out full bore with the masterwork (range) fully up will give this 85+ range. AND I can run my favorite kinetic (witherhoard) in pretty much ANY activity and I realized I might have found my new fave handcannon. Having said that: I'd still drop it like a rock if they bring back DUKE in any shape similar to what I used to have.

I've got hammer forged, ricochet, range finder, and overflow on my Pali. It has kinda become my workhorse for both pvp and pve on my Voidwalker! I pair it with my Chaperone for PvP or Witherhord or Blasphemer or Heritage (with reconstruction or recombination) or Izinagi for PVE so I get those overflow rounds on special and heavy pickups. I have been running Battle Harmony lately so I use guillotine as a void sword or Commemoration void MG heavy for PVE or PVP (rampage and reconstruction). Seems to create a lot of symmetry!

It's excellent PVE with that roll. I used it to farm more palindromes. Unfortunately couldn't get the GM going so no adept version for me😢. But the base weapon melts!

I got TWO PvE godroll Palis on my first completion of GM Proving Grounds when it was the GM. I got Overflow/OFA and Overflow/Rampage at the same time... That completed my farming for Adept Pali after one run LOL. I already have a PvP roll I like on my regular Pali: Killing Wind/Rangefinder, didn't feel the need to farm for an adept version and didn't feel like it.

I have two rolls that I am happy with, not sure which to stick with 1. Adept - hammer forged, APR, quickdraw, unrelenting 2. (Non adept) - full bore, ricochet, subsistence and rampage But have very comparable ranges 84 vs 82 and same stability of 65. Suggestions?

I got an *almost* perfect base Pali -- Hammer forged, AP rounds, QD, RF, Range MW. I was slightly bummed it didn't have Ricochet, but even without the +10 stability it's absolutely incredible.

I have basically every roll - I have a max range Adept - Overflow / Range Finder/ Ricochet / Extended Barrel- if I use Corkscrew with Adept Icarus its 78 range/ 78 stability/ 62 handling. With overflow never have to reload . Great gun. I am sitting on a Grief/ RF til they buff bottom grief. I have Overflow / rampage, overflow One for All.. I was blessed.

Farmed all the Pali Nightfalls this season and the only perk I didn't get but wanted (Barrels and Mag Included) was Rampage. Including Adept Palis

I got stupidly lucky and got an adept Pali with hammer forged ricochet overflow rangefinder with a stability mw. Love how it feels in both pvp and pve. In terms of where it fits in the meta, I still gravitate towards 120 for comp and trials because of the two tap potential but in terms of pve it’s my main gun now. It will be interesting to see how these 120s feel after the nerf and whether or not we will start to see more people using this gun.

I use, and will use until I'm dead, a controller on PC, and my killing wind/unrelenting Pally just feels *right*. It's got chambered and ric. rounds, w a range mw and it's stability is just nutty for duels. Absolutely love this gun

If you have an austringer still, do a comparison with it. I know it is sunset but you can still use it in survival. It’s actually REALLY good if not better than Palindrome

If you use the extra ammo mod it gets 13 in a clip, which returns 2 Bullets per kill with subsistence instead of 1 when the mag size is 10 , quite a fun time

I really value my high impact reserves one because you can start two crit/ one bodying people in the back half of the mag and that consistency makes it super reliable.

It's also pretty good in pve one for all does 5% more damage for the same amount of ammo but you don't need to hit multiple targets.

Was able to snag a couple adept ones last night, I would highly recommend this HC. You aren’t overstating the versatility either, a regular palindrome is what I used in GM’s to get the adept version.

I got 2 adepts from the Proving Ground nightfall on double loot. Both have bottomless grief but everything else is basically perfect. Hammerforged Hi-cal rounds BG Rangefinder Arrowhead break Light mag BG One for All The second one isn't as good on the barrels/mags but its a PvE roll so it doesn't matter as much. I love them both they feel amazing.

I've been using an adept pali with killing wind rangefinder roll with small bore ricochet rounds and a handling masterwork. best primary I've ever touched. the range is top notch and it just feels amazing to shoot. when paired with an adept astral or eye of sol this thing is a serious workhouse and plays great with top tree dawn

I managed to get both killing wind/rampage, and quickdraw/rampahe rolls both with 86 range in total and an amazing stability. It's pretty much laser beam hand cannon that has more range then even some 120's , it's just amazing 😁

Great to hear your opinion on it. It's similar as my opinion on this weapon. My roll has hammer forged, armor piercing rounds, killing wind and rampage. Would have prefered rangefinder in the last column but rampage is still a great pick. Personally I think this weapon feels better then 120's. They feel like a hand cannon should feel. I don't have that with any of the 120's so imma gonna use the hel out of my pali! Just because it feels good!

Got two rolls, ones ricochet rounds range finder quick draw with handling masterwork, the other one is ricochet rounds killing wind high impact reserves with range master work, both pretty good in pvp

Got an extended barrel, ricochet killing wind and rangefinder roll. Feels exceptional! If not increase damage, I think Bungie should give these a consistency buff so there’s a trade off for the range vs 120s.

I wasn't able to get an Adept version, but I have a regular version which is actually near identical to yours! Smallbore, Hi-Cal, Bottomless Grief, Rangefinder w/Range Masterwork. I was pretty bummed to see Bottomless Grief but when I inspected it to see everything else? I didn't care in the slightest! Going back into NF's to try get another one, Bottomless Grief was actually kinda helpful on a couple occasions & with it getting buffed too? It might be a pretty decent clutch perk.

Got a Killing Wind, Rampage Adept Pali. And a Overflow, Rampage Adept pali. Wanted overflow, one for all on one for GM's but rampage will do.

I have a Rampage/ Killing Wind/ high Caliber, smallbore roll with range MW. It is not adept, but I love it. The adept I got was Rampage/ Outlaw/ Appended Mag/ smalbore with a range MW. It is good, but I prefer the killing wind non adept one

High quality content as usual! Looking forward to using Palindrome and Ace more after the 120 nerf. Also looking forward to the change to bottomless grief on my Bottomless Grief/Rampage Palindrome. Here's to hoping we get more good kinetic pairings for energy primaries.

I got the KW Rampage with ricochet rounds and hammer forged with range MW and I love it with the damage buff you get when you freeze someone. 2 rampage stacks and the damage from the freeze I was two tapping with it last night 96 crits

I got quite a few Quickdraw rangefinder rolls but none had range masterwork. So I use my subsistence rangefinder, range mw ricochet rounds, and I like it more for pvp.

The Finite Impactor may come with Iron Grip hopefully just like Steadyhand which makes the definite difference among 120s...

This is straight from the TWAB. Sounds like we'll need to grab the new versions of these perks In Season 14, we're making the following changes to Trials and Nightfall weapons, and their Adept versions (Note: This only applies to new drops of these weapons, not previous drops.)

Only new weapons will roll with the alternate perk choice, but the perk change are global (just like every other perk change that has ever happened)

I have the adept with Fullbore, ricochet, killing wind and rangefinder roll. It slaps in the current meta. Sure 120s out map it but if you can slightly close the gap. Its very strong.

Picked up a Full bore, armour piercing with Subsistence + Range finder last week. Middle of the road perk wise, but it still feels solid. Reminds me of my Austringer. Might have to grind for some more potent perks
