How are we supposed to take Prager seriously in this conversation? This is SUCH a canard. The percentage of formerly male trans women playing women's sports at the professional level (or even collegiate/highschool level for that matter) is microscopic. Need evidence? Look for formerly male transwomen in the women's olympics. You won't find a SINGLE one. So, Prager derailed the conversation to explore a nonsequitor wedge issue in order to escape the issue that really matters: The abuse of executive power. This is FAR FAR FAR more important, but Prager wants to waste everyone's time by 1) shifting blame to his political opposition and 2) discussing something so off topic and so unimportant to the larger political discourse that he ruins any and all credibility he might have carried into this conversation.

For anybody to lazy to fact check Denise. The law forbidding schools from informing parents of their child's gender identity does not exist in the form he's talking about. The actual law is that schools aren't REQUIRED to tell parents. Absolutely nothing forbidding schools from doing so, it's still up to the school whether or not they do tell the parents. It's absolutely disgusting how he even says the correct interpretation before asserting his own fictitious version of it. I know destiny stated that he hasn't looked into it so he didn't want to make an unfounded claim about it but if steven knew how blatant of a lie that was it would've been an amazing opportunity to make him look even more cartoonishly bad faith.

Just to help you be more informed on LGBT rights, there are at least four good reasons for schools not to inform parents if children declare themselves to be trans at school. 1. If you are gay or trans then that conversation with your parents is usually the most important conversation you will have in your lifetime. It is morally wrong to take that opportunity from anyone and it means the kid has to face the issue before they are ready 2. Trans people experience much higher rates of suicide and suicide ideation. Children don't have a lot of opportunities to have confidential conversations with trusted adults. Removing this resource from trans kids (and wierdly only trans kids) would increase suicides. 3. Unfortunately a great many homes are generally safe and secure for children, but become dangerous when these issues are mentioned. The child well may know that. 4. Children are not their parents slaves. They have their own rights and freedoms Prager seems to think that if kids are forced to tell their parents they are trans that will magically make them not trans. Actually id argue that kids who are trying to explore if they are trans or not are more likely to get stuck in that definition when theres no safe environment to test if they really are trans or not.

i agree with destiny on most of this, but sports at the high school level are definitely not just for social interaction and exercise. high schools are where college scouts look for potential players, people create online athletic profiles and send their footage to universities, i’ve had friends move to larger schools for a better chance to get noticed by scouts and be offered athletic scholarships i’m not taking a stance on whether trans participation would ruin sports at that level because i honestly don’t know, but i do think the competitive integrity of high school sports is important and should be protected.
