A compilation of all the clips of the Destiny ship from Stargate Universe cruising in FTL. I left out clips with talking or obnoxious music and added a little intro clip to try to set the mood.
Yeah cause SGA and SG1 had absolutely terrible effect. Especially SG1 with its purple cloud that they kept the whole show. The SGA blue/green effect looked much better but the acceleration effect of the ships was inconsistent throughout the show.
To save Destiny a whole lot of time perhaps the seed ships could had of put super gates at every Galaxy so that Destiny could just travel there instead of having to go through the intergalactic void they also could had of skipped a few billion galaxies as well
the gate system in SGU is much more extensive in comparison to the milky way gates and the Pegasus gate system. and it would seem they are never ending i mean as far as we know the gate system in the milky way are only found within the milky way and the Pegasus gates are only within the Pegasus galaxy. but the SGU gate system has gone through more than 39 galaxy's according to the show. i know their gate systems in the SGU were less advanced than the milky way and pegasus ones. i kind of find it weird that they never explored these gate systems and just left it unmanned, but then they decided to seed stargates through out the milky way and pegasus but seemed to only stop here, i mean it's possible they had newer kinds of seeding ships with better engines and defences that went to other galaxy's outside of the milky way and pegasus galaxy's in another direction with the newer tech of gate systems.
You remember when I was talking about the great filter event and I ended up saying with all the brain power I have to flee the Earth and remain in hyperspace ? I think this is where we are , flying through the empty void , casscading failure system defaillance in progress...... In search of a new home bul nothing was ever found , just eternal emptyness
I didn't like the show when it first aired, it was completely different from the other SG's and I thought it was trying desperately to be like Battlestar so I hated it too.. After it got canceled, I went back and started rewatching it from episode 1 online.. needless to say, I was so sad when it ended on that cliff hanger.. Lol. I love this show now, it's not my favorite SG. Best story, best characters, great cast.. loved it.
Wait supposedly the close you are to the speed of light, the slower everything around you gets. So since they went beyond light speed in normal space, shouldn’t they be traveling back in time by the eons?
What we know of the Destiny FTL system is pretty limited, but it seems that the drive accelerates the ship to superluminal velocity without the use of subspace. This would separate it from both hyperspace and warp drive technology, since both use subspace in some way. As for relativistic time dilation, I think the ship must employ some kind of technology similar to what the Asgard developed (and was used aboard the Odyssey in 'SG1:Unending'). I can't remember from where, but I remember hearing that the shield somehow had a hand in this but don't quote me on that. In my mind, the reason for this roundabout way of superluminal travel was data collection. What we know about hyperdrives suggests that you can't collect any data about the space you're travelling through while in hyperspace. The mission of the Destiny would necessitate constant data collection, so whatever superluminal technology it used would have to allow for this.
This is them going at warp 9.999999 that would take them from the milky way to the pegasus i 43 days. However if you add another 9 making it warp 9.9999999 then the journey from milky way to pegasus is only 2 days
@@willt3223 Yeah, that's why we refer to higher numbers like that as transwarp. Like in 'All good things' they say warp 13, but really that just means a certain number of 9s at the end of warp 9. But even using that system it's easy to confuse with transwarp drives like the borg transwarp system, which is completely different. Isn't Star Trek great?!
@@raymondgradzewicz I thought transwarp is a different method of travel that blinds you to real time space so all they see around them is a blue hue. Were as warp you see space on real time and if you keep on adding the 9.99999999 to it you will still be in real time space. Remember the traveller and how he got them into another galaxy with regular warp?
I would say that Atlantis is the fastest, with the wormhole drive. Not counting the wormhole drive, I would say the Asgard ships are the fastest in Stargate, along with a fully powered Atlantis.
