Let's face it: Cayde-6 is the best person out of all the Vanguard

When Cayde died in forsaken he said that the vanguard was the best bet he ever lost OH MY GOD Lore is beautiful

I know someone's mentioned this, but Cayde's interactions with the Fallen Baroness really hammers home how much the Guardian classes reflect our enemies. Hunters feel exactly like humanity's best taking pages out of the Eliksni's book, as Warlocks become much like their obsession as they dance about in between the Hive's secrets in order to better defeat them through understanding, and our mighty Titans are practically the Cabal's grandiose power condensed into human form. Even if it's unintentional and unconscious, Guardians-Hell, the remains of humanity in all their forms-are mimicking the strengths, the things that work, that are of the beings attacking them. "If the Fallen can stay warm with nothing but capes and a bit of fur, so can I!" Says the First Hunter, eyeing the tailorship of an expired Captain's cloak. "If the Hive can have such vast knowledge and power, than I'm no different!" Says the First Warlock, observing an ongoing battle between a Wizard and her brood and the fireteam. "If the Cabal, grand and mighty as they are, can devastate the ground beneath their feet, my own feet will make quake the ground upon which I tread!" Says the First Titan, galloping as one does into a feud against a squad of the colossal behemoths, eyes every inspecting of the power within each armed land-beast's being.

The Vanguard may see him as the lazy, laid, and silly back vanguard commander, but we all know that he is just a broken man who lost everything, his love and humanity, striped nothing into metal and bones.

When a side character is more interesting than your main character.

Cayde-6's personality is very close to Mal Reynolds. Brash and carefree exterior, with a darker and more serious inner side. Bungie voice casting sure know how to pick 'em.

"Eris... get your rock, off my map" - One of the best Cayde-6 lines in the whole game.

How about Destiny 2 include some actual play through missions and or strikes with Cayde. Not just cutscenes

I have always knew that Cayde-6 was a tragic character who is also a classic romantic hero. Makes me glade I chose a Hunter as my main.

what if in destiny 2 bungie kills Cayde in the most Caydeish style but the twist is if u play on a hunter during that mission a secret cutscene scene happens and Cayde gives you the hunter vanguard mental and says "tag your it" i would cry and laugh at the same time. i love Cayde and i keep offering him the chance to come with me but he doesn't why?

This video straight up gave me goosebumps at the end.

I like to think that the 'girl' Cayde refers to is actually a reference to Veronica Dare from Halo 3:ODST, the love interest of Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck, a character played by Nathan Fillion.

I love how, when getting Cayde's stashes, you can read his lore from the different things you find, especially that he had a son and a wife while he was a human.

Oookay, I did not know that Exo used to be human... Interesting...

At least Cayde finally got his wish of getting out of the tower

As a hunter main who loves cards and lore and destiny I have to say that this is amazing work! Cayde had so much going on you gave me chills at the end, so much good story and work here. I love his response to ghost when he asks her name. He has been through a lot and keeps fighting.

Learned alot about Cayde after watching this beautiful video........very interesting!

In destiny 2 we can find a page of cayde journal from the chests he hides on each planet, To find the chests you buy maps from him, but on that page we learn that cayde used to have a son named ace. The entry goes like this... "- so there you have it, Ace, that's why I did what I did. I had no choice, really. It was that or the great beyond. Just know your dad did what he had to do if I ever wanted to see you and your mother again. You probably won't recognize me, since I'll be, well, a robot and all, but I'll find you, I promise- - from the journals of cayde-6" It is known that cayde uses cards to remember things. But what may be a little heart breaking is his hand cannon... named "Ace" of spades. Most likely a way to remember his son, ace.

I was expecting a funny background story, but this was really sad 😭

Cayde has such a great story. He is, of course, one of the best (if not THE best) characters in-game, but when you look at his journal entries, he just becomes even more interesting. I've loved delving into his history.

This video was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Cayde-6 is my favorite character in Destiny, and this was perfect backstory on him.

Great vid! Always nice to learn about favorite characters. Random thought while listening on my drive to work. If we can't move our characters forward in D2 what if when the tower is destroyed one of the vanguard are killed and our current character takes over. Zavala for Titans, Ikora for warlocks and yes, Cayde for Hunters.

Cayde-6 is 90% of the reason I'm considering getting Destiny 2.

Now here's a question: Do people (no matter the race, I think) need to be dead before they become a Guardian, or can someone who is alive become a Guardian too? Even if Cayde-6 witnessed the collapse, he might not remember it, since it seems at the moment that only the dead can become a Guardian, through a ghost resurrecting them. The dead have no memories. But if a living person (or exo) can become a Guardian, then Cayde might just be the oldest Guardian in existence. He might also have first-hand memories of the Collapse.

When someone complains that Destiny has no story, I reply, "Look deeper young guardian."

in a future (maybe in destiny 2) i'd like to see an expansion centered around the Exo where we go to Europa. Like maybe Cayde senses a calling back to the deep stone crypt, goes rogue, and we are sent on a long quest with clues to figure out were he went (and we end up on europa).

Damn, Cayde sounds like he had a rough life. I always thought he was just the funny, sarcastic exo vanguard who made me proud to be a hunter. It's always the funniest guys who seem to have the darkest back stories.

this is all amazing. cayde is more interesting as a side character than my main character. the writers put a lot of work into this but then it also begs a question. why is cayde such a badass yet in the game he hardly is able to do anything. if he was this awesome then why did the writers just make him a shop to sell items and rank up VG reputation? in 3 DLC and a full game they still hardly used cayde. I'm triggered

What a great story teller. I for one don't like to go and read grimoire cards and journals. I go straight to the shooting and tooting. But hearing these stories that make game dialog make sense is fantastic and give the characters we meet in the game so much more depth. Thanks man. I am subscribing now.

i fall in love with destiny more and more every time you make a lure video. it reminds me of why i continue to support bungie and it's team, even when i feel frustrated as a player at different aspects of the game or lack thereof. of course it also reminds me why i support you and your endeavors to illuminate the secrets behind the scenes in so many of my favorite games.
