JESUS CHRISTH THAT WAS AMAZING Man you really put effort on this one, the animation is fantastic and smooth and the kill was phenomenal, if this was an actual death battle it would be pretty high in the rankings of best death battles 10/10, the best episode of not death battle for sure

Well, well, well. Let's review this baby, shall we? First of all, I think everyone who watched that video knows why Nemesis put this matchup for the 10th anniversary of Death Battle. It's Nemesis's dream matchup and it's a fantastic matchup on its own right. I don't think I need to elaborate much further as to why this matchup is great without repeating what Nemesis has already said about the matchup. Now the analysis. It's great. Not-Wiz and Not-Boomstick are great as always and it's nice seeing them do more things at an analysis segment than just standing close to the camera and talking. The jokes land well and the analysis covered the characters exceptionally well. It started from the history of Godzilla and Gamera and built up to Destroyah and Iris, who are meant to be the Anti-Godzilla and Anti-Gamera. The analysis in general felt like a genuine love letter to both characters and both franchises, perfectly explaining how both movies from which the two combatants originated from are thematic masterpieces...and how many things in both movies just don't make sense from a logic standpoint. Also, the research and conclusion are really well done, I agree with the outcome and the analysis is so detailed. For two characters who rely mostly on scaling, whose final forms appeared just for the 2 final battles of their respective movies and who don't have a lot of individual calculable feats, the analysis did a fantastic job breaking down all of their feats and abilities and taking every possibility into account. Plus, I really like that the music from both respective franchises is playing in the background. Yes, lots of vs shows do that, but since I'm a big kaiju fanboy and since I really like the music from both franchises, it had a bigger personal impact on me. And now the fight. Oh, the fight. It's soooo good! The character models are great, the setting is highly-detailed and it fits the tone, atmosphere and concept of the matchup, the choreography is pretty creative, with the combatants getting to fight on land, on air and even fall in the sea and they get to use lots of their abilities and they bounce off in creative ways. The fight is brutal, fitting for these two, the animation is fast and fluid, yet it also has weight, with some good sound design, and the fight has lots of cool shots, such as the one where Destroyah is shooting his micro-oxygen beams in the sky towards Iris. I like how the climax fits both characters pretty well, since it's basically the two combatants tearing each other apart and trying to get the upper hand any way they can. The death is brutal and nasty and makes good and creative usage of the combatants's abilities, plus it caught me off-guard in a good way the first time I saw it. I can count all the little flaws in this episode with the palm of my hand. 1) The setup is fitting, but it could have been done a little more with it. 2) Some hits don't have the impact they should have. 3) There is the occassional little animation junk. 4) There is the occassional not very good audio during a line delivery in the analysis segments. All these flaws are very few and far between and the good faaaaar outweighs the bad. This episode is easily the best Not-Death Battle Special (with Godzilla vs Hulk coming close), one of my top 5 favourite Nemesis Bloodryche videos and one of my favourite vs show episodes as a whole. Easily 10/10. Recommended to kaiju fans, vs fans, people who want to get into kaijus and/or vs and...well...pretty much anyone. This episode was a fine addition (and in fact my personal favourite addition) to the 10th Death Battle Anniversary collab. Nemesis, keep up the fantastic work.

Godzilla, despite how big (no pun intended) the franchise is, is really underrepresented in Death Battle! I appreciate this.

I'm personally of the opinion that Iris was a prototype guardian partly modeled on Gyaos. Several elements of Iris' design would later be used in Gamera's creation. The shell-like structure on the back is similar to Gamera's own shell, it possesses bio-jets similar to Gamera's, and even the blade-arms would be modified into Gamera's retractable elbow spikes. This proto-guardian theory is supported by the Gamera vs. Barugon manga which takes place between Gamera 2 and 3 and reimagines Barugon and many other monsters as prototype guardians that the Atlantians simply couldn't control and ultimately sealed away. EDIT: I should point out that Legion doesn't release oxygen itself. What it and the soldiers were doing was breaking down glass, which is composed of oxygen and silicon. The Legion would feed on the silicon, absorbing it into their exoskeletons (which allows them to communicate via electrical signals), whilst allowing the oxygen to be released into the environment in high concentrations so as to boost the launch of the flower's seed pod.

Literally the first video I've ever seen by this channel... And I loved it. Tje calculations, the jokes (though the audio drowned out part of the dialogue at times or the voices were too low, so some I couldn't hear) and the result... All great work. I love both characters in this vs and you did them justice... Great work overall!

As Destroyah is my favourite Kaiju, I'm very happy with the results!

What's really funny about this video is it's pretty accurate in how they would do their scaling from feats shown while ignoring scaling from other monsters in the Heisei series and Godzilla himself. Destoroyah scales to like, Solar System level or some shit, but because of how they do scaling he'd be put down to like, City Block level, lol.

Great fight with good reasoning for why it ended the way it did! By the way, they actually did explain Iris origins in a spin-off comic published after the movie. Iris and Barugon are actually prototypes for anti-gyaos weapons that were ultimately discarded as failures and sealed away. Gamera meanwhile was the final successful product of the Atlantean research That's why Gamera was able to kill Iris.

I'm having an argument with a guy on reddit on why Destoroyah would win against Iris and so I sent him this video link to give him a better explanation because I struggle describing it as well as Nemesis and instead he just says "there's no need to continue, I'm right" WHAT! Edit: After he said that I explained how frustrated I was and he hasn’t replied since, so I’m just gonna assume he got way too salty and has lost the argument.

Even if this was an actual DEATH BATTLE the outcome wouldn't change, Destroyah is capable of resisting Godzilla's Infiniti Heat Ray, and Destroyah was at Galaxy level, Iris was only able to take a hit from Gamera going at Mach 3. So the outcome will stay the same, DESTROYAH WINS 🏆

Honestly, godzilla 1998 vs shin godzilla is probably my most wanted match. Ik it's a same series matchup but it's kinda themed. G98 took him the furthest away from the original 1954 movie. While shin gojira was probably the closest to being goji back to his roots in recent times. Plus it would be fun to watch. Godzilla 98 is the much faster one while shin godzilla is far slower. It'd never happen but I can hope Also this was a really good episode
