Destroy All Neighbors (2024) (Movie Review)

I’ve noticed that with humor there’s a mutual exclusivity between logical humor and absurdist humor, where people who like the former don’t like the latter, and vice versa. This movie fell into the absurdist category, and that’s right up my alley. It was stuffed with fantastic situational absurdity, and I was doubled over laughing the entire time. A few scenes that got me were the intestines playing drums, or the muppety looking burnt neighbor corpse. Or the scene that plays on that trope of best buddies stoned and lying on the floor in a circle, only in this case the arrangement includes severed body parts. Or the over-the-top grunting and absurd excessive layers of noise making. Also as someone who has a love-hate relationship with prog rock, I loved how they made fun of so many prog tropes, like the obligatory flute sequence, and the weird musical elitism that seems endemic to prog artists. This movie was just so dumb in all the right ways.

Glad you liked it, looking forward to this movie. I'm a big fan of Jonah Ray from MST3K and Alex Winters from Bill & Ted. Also a huge horror fan so should be good.

Fk angry joe your review makes way more sense I loved this fresh new movie, reminds me of the 80s

So the first review that came up was a split screen of a dude, and then another fat latino dude who was cloned. Incredibly annoying, on top of completely shedding on the movie, other than a few things like the practical effects. Yeah, everyone's entitled to have an opinion, but sometimes your opinion is wrong lol. As someone who's considered extremely picky, this movie was a very feel-good, and all around good movie I've been recommending to everyone. Even though the main character and girlfriend weren't great, other characters like Vlad made up for it.
