Yeah, I used chunkbase to locate a few in closeby loaded chunks that I knew wouldn't have generated full structures, just for the sole purpose of mining all the copper and tuff.
Sliced Lime on his video said that the vaults rotating sprite is never able to be timed. It might occur that you get the item but it's never guaranteed. Since he works for Mojang I take his word as gospel as I've never found his information to be wrong.
came down here to say the same thing. aye; he says on his trials update video (i quote verbatim copy/paste from his video transcript) : _"Within the vault block you can also see an item display - this shows the possible items that players can obtain from looting the Vault. However, the display is not connected to what you'll actually get when opening the vault - once you interact, the loot is selected from the Vault's loot table. That is to say, you cannot time interacting with the vault with when a desired item is shown."_
It's interesting that two of the recent major structure updates both benefit from being stealthy and covering trigger centers in blocks to allow for free movement if you don't want a combat challenge - as someone who's recently been exploring Ancient Cities a bunch, the similarities pop out to me. Sound, sight...if we count the pressure plates and tripwires in the desert and jungle temples respectively, that's 3/5 senses. Next update will be a living room you have to feed its favorite food to avoid fighting. XD
Great video. The smite tip against the bogged is useful advice. I found a trial chamber in my new world and the bogged nearly killed me. Thanks for sharing!
Smite is love, Smite is life, I know it's not the most popular but I like having one weapon with it in case I need to fight a lot of undead, it's great!
am I the only one thats upset that mojang STILL isn't doing ANYTHING with diorite, granite or andesite? C'mon man, where's my Polished Granite Walls? Where are my Andesite Bricks? Mojang I'm begging here man!
@@AutomaticVoiceMessageSystem Eh, maybe it drops it behind a level of obfuscation, but it's still there. The original was still called David for a reason.
What I'll do with the trial chambers: Mine 1 out, and turn it into spawner farms. Have water dispensers flush the mobs down from wherever they might spawn, alongside the drops periodically, into a rather deep dropshute. That way, even if I were to use the trial omen buff/debuff/whichever you consider it as, I'd be able to gather loot from the spawners. Also, build a nice little rollercoaster so I can activate a bunch of the spawners at once, so they can go simultaniously. Requirements: 1.: Dig out the entire trial chamber, except forthe spawners. (can leave parts that are far away enough from the spawners, won't be an issue) 2.: Dig out rather deep below the trial chamber, so I can have the mobs fall. A big distance. 3.: Put a collection system of some kind to the bottom of the dropschute. 4.: build some redstone that can flush the spawner drops and/or the mobs down from the spawners. Note: mobs that don't take fall damage (slimes) might be an issue here. For those, you might have to create little zones of iron golems surrounded by fences and magma blocks in the collection area at the bottom of the dropschute to make sure they are disposed of. Alternatively, you could just leave those spawners out of the farm. I for one, would love to create a farm like this with skeleton/bogged spawners the most. After all, bones/bonemeal are useful. Out of all the mob types possiblein these spawners that I know of, skeleton variants (for bonemeal and possibly funky arrows) and slimes (for slime obviously) are probably the most useful mobs in terms of mob drops. Alternatively, the breeze could compete, once the wind charges get more features, or someone comes up with a good way to utilize them en-masse. For now, the best use-case I see for it is being a dispenser based way to move mobs off of spawning platforms. If they deal any damage at all, than also a possible way to kill off mobs in a funny way. Or to kill ghasts, as those barely have any hp, while have a huge hitbox, meaning that probably even dispensers wouldn't miss. Another option would be spiders, but they're a bit harder to get rid of due to their wall climbing ability. Not all that big of a difference, but a pain to deal with if we don't want to dig out too big dropshutes.
Found a chamber near my base. I am going to pull a Pixelriff and make a huge hole to expose it to the surface. Then I'm going to replace the top layer with glass.
This was a great look at what the trial chambers can offer beyond PvE. Also just interesting from a technical perspective what goes into the structure. Really looking forward to the next iteration of David and seeing what you come up with for farming the trial spawners, if you decide it's worth it...
At 27:00 "which is why I like to set up a copper aging facility" That is one of my favourite things Pix does. Even though the redstone is well beyond my current comprehension, every variant of David brings me joy! Which one are we up to now? David 5.0? 6.0? Can't wait to see how he sets up this one :D
I've unwaxed my copper blocks by turning them to ingots and back. Haven't done much with the auto crafter yet, but I'd figure that be an easy enough set up without scraping, wouldn't it? Edit: of course you thought of that later in the video 😅
You could do with making a big ‘town square‘ area infront of the storage area to showcase and build temporary blocks. Just a big open space with a decorative floor. Keep up the good work!
My plan is to dig out my first trial chamber. Thankfully it appears to be a small 2 room. I'm surprised it was there because it's definitely close or in to explored chunks
My trial chamber generated funny as well. I discovered separate sections cut off from the main body by chunks of deep slate. I ended up having a lot more trial chamber than I thought I did.
It’s actually possible that the dispenser’s behind wall as not always erroneous generation. I found these in my world and recalled that wind charges can activate red stone and so I used a wind charge and for splash positions then there was an effect, water buckets just clipped through the walls though.
to confirm: in case it gets lost as a sub comment below, i'll copy it here: Slicedlime's video on the Tricky Trials release about Vaults, he says [i copy/paste directly from his transcript - at 10 min 30 on his vid] _"Within the vault block you can also see an item display - this shows the possible items that players can obtain from looting the Vault. However, the display is not connected to what you'll actually get when opening the vault - once you interact, the loot is selected from the Vault's loot table. That is to say, you cannot time interacting with the vault with when a desired item is shown."_
I always thought it it was worth going to a trial chamber and tearing it down for building and resources for building but in the early MC game, it can take a while and plus, if you would want to, need better armor, weapons, and maybe Shulker Boxes if you want to take it back with you. Plus crafting the Copper Bulbs are pretty expensive with the Blaze Rod, so while it’s easy to find natural copper it is gonna take a lot of it. So it’s kinda mixed for me, and I say this because I still haven’t made a starter house lol. But I do love the copper blocks and really want to build from them because they look amazing
Can you just switch to Peaceful without the spawner activating? Correct me if I’m wrong, but are the copper blocks that aren’t corroded coated with wax? If we break the block, does that break the wax, too? Edit: they’re waxed. Thank you! That’s exciting.
@@Pixlriffs- thank you for showing all of the blocks and irons out in the open. I’m a builder, not a fighter, and I really appreciate this video. Thank you for your hard work.
Also a fun source of dispensers, I got around 20 from this half-formed trial chamber. And if you’re a technical player maybe you’ll get a kick out of farming these spawners for unusual mobs? You can shear mushrooms off the Bogged, that’d make a pretty fun alternative mushroom farm
“Pick block” is the in-game term - defaults to middle click, but you can reassign it in keybinds. If you look at a block and middle click, it’ll pop into your hand as long as you have it in your inventory.
Hola Pix, little question: Somewhere, a minecraft SOS mod appeared and the SOS Wiki gonna do a ripoff. Now the following question came up: Is the mod compatible to 1.21 or are we struck in 1.20.4?
I know nothing about the Minecraft SOS mod or its compatibility. We were told the mod we used isn't going to be released to the public, so it's probably fan-made, and it's up to whoever made it to update it
My seed must be busted - the trial chambers are all broken up and I have to use spectator mode to be able to see them all (no way between them without digging).
2 hours actually, but there's no need to dwell on that. June is a busy month for me and I have to backlog videos for the first couple of weeks in July, so the schedule will be a little disrupted
I turned a medium sized trial chamber into a key farm, got a heavy core on the 5th ominous vaults, got a breach 2 book at a nearby desert temple, and have a nice stash of keys to open more chests in other chambers
Can you autocraft waxed copper blocks into ingots and then into unwaxed copper blocks? Although this will only work for pure blocks that's most of the effort of unwaxing the copper from the trial chamber edit: yes this is mentioned at ~29,
I love all the new tuff and copper blocks, but just thinking about destroying such beautiful structure is causing me mental pain XD. I like to preserve my world as untouched as possible, so I will never mine trial chamber. I'll mine all the tuff and copper for my buildings from the ground, even if it'll take me way more time! Still, great video Pix. I love your way of making content for every type of minecraft player, builders, explorers and redstoners etc. You're the best!
Honestly i bet if the copper golem won the mob vote i bet they'd have a big role in the chambers Since in there theres some dispensers with buttons on them and they could try and press them to shoot stuff at you on accident
Nice. So about a full shulker of aged copper. Seems well worth it. Especially if I want to make more copper roofs. I'd likely also use some of the regular fresh copper blocks while I'm at it.
Technically it seems easy then to farm the spawners in the Trial Chamber !! Locking them (does it works with invisibility potion ?), destroying the chamber and then farming them for the keys...
You can get new enchantments pix from rolling villagers I got breach 4 and density 5 from them and it was actually easy the hard one to get was unbreaking 3 took 9 minecraft days to finally get it after rolling several villagers before this one I have 140 villagers all over my world I rolled 132 villagers none of them got unbreaking 3 as I rolled them the 133 villager took 9 minecraft days of rolling him and I finally got unbreaking 3 the 7th villager I rolled got unbreaking 2 for 10 so I took that because I needed it badly in the beginning of my world I'm 2574 days in now and still no deaths I'm the only one left on my realm with no deaths too all 6 others have at least 2 or more deaths I'm super proud of my self that I have no deaths
