In order to get my replacement, I was REQUIRED to destroy it. They would not send me my replacement WITHOUT proof that I destroyed mine. I explain all of this in the video. I didn't want to do this, but I had to. :(

I’m sure you both may have but I wanted to ask if you had tried to apply pressure to the scalp/hair piece/face to try to close that gap? Since the rest of the figure looked to have parts that popped on like a resin figure, possibly they were not on fully flush/assembled crooked?

@@rydndrtyllama it was glued and yes we did, but didn't want to break loose the glue and cause a bigger problem that Tsume wouldn't replace due to tampering.

It's pretty amazing that you were even able to get a second one, not only because this is such a limited piece, but also because so many people are still waiting on their order to even be shipped. The company has been rather difficult to get a straight answer from, you got lucky.

This figure is a special one, with a certificate and a specific number, you know? Not all companies require you to destroy the defective product.

@@urhere976 yes I know it’s specially numbered with certificate as well but she mentioned additional companies such as premium one studios require you to destroy the defect as well since these are limited statues and not mass made.

Why couldn’t they collect it and destroy it or dispose of it themselves? Instead of making you go through all this 😟 I know it would cost them a bit extra to collect it but surely they can recycle the figure or do something with it instead of destroying it or at the very least depose or destroy for you instead 🙁

To add to this sentiment, even figures made of resin aren't as fragile as you might think. Most resin is actually also a kind of plastic hybrid, and although they aren't as drop proof as a PVC figure, and there are some fragile aspects to resin, such as the smaller thinner pieces which do tend to be more brittle and can easily snap, just like the bow on this pvc figure or like the pettles on those roses, and heavier resin can crack from drops since resin is heavier and more dense than pvc, you should still try to stay calm and not panic while assembling resin figures either. I have a BJD (Ball Jointed Doll, kind of like Dolfie, but Dolfies are actually vinyl vs traditional BJD which are resin) and my bjd has had thinner sections chip before (I had an S hook chip the inside wall of her wrist) and I also know fingers have been known to be brittle and snap off during shipping. Along with that if you drop one you'll expect possible cracks and scuffing. But they aren't actually as scary to handle as you may expect. I've been posing a BJD before and had joints snap roughly into place and haven't experienced damage. This is all to say when you're handling pricey figures made of PVC OR resin, it is better to be confident and try not to be too scared, because nervousness and fear causes you to clam up, sweat, shake, and be more prone to dropping or snapping parts on accident. In this case, it was a very good thing she got her husband to help her during the original unboxing with assembling the figure, because she got too nervous to do it and as you saw the thin bow was still quite brittle compared to the more durable figure. I just want those new to collecting to know that no matter the material your valuable collectible item is, if you can calm yourself before handling a figure or get someone without as much attachment to the piece to help with assembly, you'll be much better off and less likely to accidentally break parts. I suppose I'm commenting to offer some reassurance and give advice to anyone sinking a large sum of money into a collectible for the first time.

It's to make sure the integrity of their work is not compromised and make sure nobody gets a free second item.

I suppose they also wanted to be faithful to the anime saying Super Sailor Moon was unbeatable. Or at least close to it. This is the most beautiful Sailor Moon figure I’ve seen. As it is limited edition, it is no surprise that now, what can be found on the internet is around 1500 bucks. It may be one of the most expensive things you own, but good on you for pre ordering instead of having to deal with that later price.

I managed to buy shiryu from saint seiya, at the anime expo in Cali from tsume when they came. It was a display and told them it would be cheaper to sell then to ship back, they said ok and even got a discount. So yeah they are cool.

I think besides that its also cause these are limited edition having an extra figure of it out, it wouldnt reflect the true number of the figures (instead of like 1000 figures it would be 1001 counting the defective one & replacement one) out so she had to destroy it … at least thats what im assuming

it was so hard to watch the Figure getting destroyed, i'm happy you got your replacement. If you should get a figure with such a small defect just buy some air drying modelling clay in the fitting color, like Fimo Clay for example and push it into the gab to close it. so the defect will be almost invisible and you don't need to ask for a replacement and destroy a figure qgain.

They sound like a very reputable company and glad they honored your request. My only concern would be that what would have happened if they had backed out of their proposal after said figure was destroyed; If it had been me, they probably would have come back with some excuses such as "sorry we are out of stock, and we are unable to send a replacement" or "haha we were just kidding, but thanks for humoring us by ruining your expensive figure"~ just my luck... 😞

as someone who's not a collector, I would never ask for a replacement for such a small detail, it just seems like such a waste. But again, I'm not a collector and I didn't pay that amount of money for a limited time figurine so I can't judge at all! I'm glad she said that they would at least recycle her broken parts.

@@sofia1161 I'm not sure entirely why, but my guess is it would cost them too much money for me to ship it back and then for them to ship me a new one. I’m so sad you had to destroy her! I know first hand how hard it is to do this. I had to destroy my HotToys Black Widow because of a defect and show proof, so that they would send me a new one. It’s SO HARD! I’m so happy you got a perfect replacement though!!!

I have ordered some sailor moon related pictures from "redbubble" 2 times with a mistake and the support let you know you can keep the product. I got a 100% credit note and ordered even different products with it. One time the picture was printed too dark and the other time the pink was brown-ish and the picture only 95% big. Maybe it's a little bit of a apples and oranges comparison, compared to such exclusive figures, but thats my experience so far.

@@KayoMew because it sounded like they were trying to discredit Sailor Bratzilla or I by saying not all limited editions have to be destroyed. I was making sure they knew it was because those are limited.
