I cant speak for Poland but as a Turk I hope that Cubans feel proud of Vargas, share and celebrate our victories this past season. I wish for one day Cuba to lead to a win in both men and women teams because every country deserves to feel the way we do now ❤ there’s so much going on in our real lives whether its financial, political etc. and every game played and fought hard for is a bright spot in everyones day. The cuban people more than ever deserves this.
Vargas doesn’t speak a word of Turkish and doesn’t know how to sing your weak anthem. Stop paying her the big money and see if she’ll still play for you. Turkiye has 85 million people and you can’t win any good enough athletes to win. So you buy a Cuban. How sad and weak. Turkish players and Turkish people are not good enough to win anything on their own. Weak players, weak country.
It's not just about players and talent though. It's about creating a good system. You can have the best players in the world and they will still lose if they don't work well together. It was kind of the case with Perugia this past club season.
If they leave the country to play in clubs outside Cuba a.k.a. ‘making money’ then they can’t play in Cuba’s national team anymore. Ask the Cuban government to change its rules.
It’s a joy to watch these two. The shape of their body when they serve, is just a work of art 💪🔥. May be I’m biased 😊 but I think our Vargas 🇹🇷 is more amazing. We love her so much ❤.
@@smartbug1If she was Cuban, if she had played in Cuba, then no one forced her, Fenerbahce brought her here, she became a Turkish citizen, she chose Turkey, everyone lives their own life.
@@smartbug1We have nothing against her Cuban roots. We love her just the way she is. We thank Cuba for losing her. Otherwise we couldn’t have had her. Our Vargas 🇹🇷 is a Cuban born TURKISH player.
Cuba is the birthplace of legendary volleyball players, I love Melissa games, she is the best, very polite and lovely player, I hope to always see her on the world stage, she definitely deserves it.
#proudToTheBones 💪🏻🏐 #MelissaVargas is and will be unforgetable for her unique way to play! I'm sure, the Cubans out there were as proud of her, as we Turks are! She's an irreplaceable member of a really special team, playing full in harmony with each other, including #EbrarKarakurt , #EdaErdemDündar , #CansuÖzbay , #GizemÖrge , #ZehraGüneş & the rest of #turkishNationalVolleyballTeam ... can't get enough of watching them doing their thing out there ♡
For the people b*tching about Vargas and Leon (mainly Vargas)- If Cuban players leave the country to play in clubs outside Cuba a.k.a. ‘making money’ then they can’t play in Cuba’s national team anymore. If you don’t like this, then ask the Cuban government to change its rules. Just by playing in Cuba, they could never reach this level.
No. Vargas and Egonu are totally different cases. Egonu borned in Italy, always lived in Italy and always played for italian national team. She is fully italian. Vargas borned in Cuba, played for Cuban team until 18 years-old and got a new citizenship + started playing for Turkey only in 2023...
Egonu is Italian, born and raised in Italy. While Turkey PAID Vargas to play for them because Turkish players are not good enough and can’t win anything on their own. Vargas doesn’t speak a word of Turkish. Stop paying her and she if she’ll still play for you. So sad, 85 million people and Turkiye doesn’t have any good athletes. Nobody, including Vargas, want to live in Turkey lol that’s why millions of Turkish people are refugees in Germany and the Netherlands. Turkey is a weak country with a weak mentality of paying foreign players to play for them because they don’t have any good athletes of their own.
@@ever5529 @ever5529 Yes, it does. According to Turkish law, if you live and work as a sportsperson in Türkiye for 3 years, you get citizenship. If you marry to and stay that way with a Turkish person for 3 years, you get citizenship. Vargas and Leon are not that different. She has a life here in Türkiye, you can't ignore that. Marriage is not the only way to switch citizenship.
I feel like Vargas is far more important for Turkiye than Leon for Poland. Polish men's team has deep talented bench and Leon often has to sit out important games because other players can do better. Turkish women's team lost all major tournaments in recent decades but this year is steamrolling past others. Yes, volleyball is a team sport but Varga's influence cannot be overstated. Amazing how small country of Cuba can produce generation upon generation of phenomenal players
I agree. Also it took Poland quite a while to incorporate Leon in a way that doesn't mess up their system. And sometimes it's still smarter to play the other OHs instead of him, depending on the rival. Still, he's a huge asset to the team and works so well within it. He was simply meant to play for Poland, he never would've been surrounded by such a well rounded team if he'd stayed in Cuba.
Turkiye has 85 million people and they can’t find a single good athletes who is good enough to win. So they had to pay a Cuban to come and win for them. Turkish players are not good enough to win anything on their own, remember when they lost to Korea at the Olympics? Turkiye does this with every sport, they pay Africans to run for them. Sad that 85 million people and no one is good or talented lol
@@enticingmay435 Hey brainless jeoulous. Turkish league is the best volleyball league in the world. So many talented Turkish players are playing in Turkey. Turkish clubs are th best and now Turkish national volleyball team is the no 1 in the world. Seems like your ass is on fire.

@@enticingmay435 Serbia highly desired to deal with her when she came to Fenerbahce- Terzic was the couch of both Fenerbahce and Serbia- , yet Turkey were quicker than them. Additionally, Serbia offered money too. I don't see any people laughing. However, some people from the countries lost against Turkey sometimes cry.
The American basketball team uses 12 African players. The French football team uses 11 African players. I congratulate Poland and Turkeye. To compete, sometimes you have to use your head. As of 2024, Vakıfbank Romanian-born super star Alexia Carutasu will play in the Turkish national team. We will get rid of Hande, who made many mistakes in attack, and we will become stronger.
Vargas'ın devşirme değil de normal bir Türk orijinli oyuncu sayılması için 2 sene geçmesi gerekiyor. we love lots of foreigners but for LGBT+ part you are unfortunately right. We bash our Ebrar about that but we are okay with Melissa. Probably it is because Ebrar is of Turkish origin so she "cannot" be a lesbian because it is against our "rules" smh It is really sad to see those kind of comments. But Ebrar is a hater-hater and handles the losers well 😁
Egonu is NOT the only African decent and lesbian player Italians act r*cist and homophobic against. This is a chronical issue in Italia, especially racism in sports from football to volleyball is quite common.
@@mertnecati875 I don't know if you are italian or not but I'm an italian and I can say that racism is not the first oroblem in our country or our volleyball woman league.
@@Diana.mantovaniLeon was given MVP award. Why are you trying to overshadow him? He is an important part of polish team, so as Vargas in Turkish team. Why are you in need of comparing them? They are both Cuban, nationalised and super talented players. They have greatly contributed their teams. Both Türkiye and Poland had 2 golds this year. This is not a coincidence. It’s Poland’s 2nd gold in European Championships after a very long period of time. Türkiye was on the podium, winning 1 silver 3 bronze in the last 4 European championships and this year we won our first ever gold.

Vargas has been playing in Turkiye since she was 17 and nobody paid her to become Turkish citizen. Serbians also offered her citizenship but she chose to play for Turkiye. So, you can cry as much as you want but it won’t change the fact that Turkiye currently has the best women national volleyball team as world’s #1.
