@@MindOfTim Your special demons that you got from picking the Diabolist hero talent could sometimes not target or reach raid bosses, leading to a huge damage loss.
ngl, destro shadowburn meta is fun with the mobility, was so long praying for aff to be good, but current aff isnt fun, idk why. destro on otherhand suddenly is
I wish shadowburn remained as a mobility option and execute spam button, not a prio spell in all situations. It kinda breaks what I find an excellent flow of current destro. Other than that I'm happy I can finally play destro without being shamed into other specs :D
Destro, especially diabolist destro, flows so damn well that even if it's behind by 20-30k DPS i'd still rather play it than affliction. Also it has a great toolkit for this raid where most bosses have some sort of add cleave.
It's wild that Destro went from the most clunky feeling spec in the game to being top tier in terms of feels and flow with the rework. Seriously great job in taking a spec and fixing that made it feel boring to play, but still basically have the same core abilities.
Destro is feeling a lot better after the buff, I still think it could use more, but it’ll do for now. I wish Dimensional Rift was a worthwhile talent, as much as I love Soulfire being useful again I love the class fantasy of ripping rifts open to the Twisting Nether and sending bolts of chaos and shadow energy at the enemy.
Always grateful for your content Kalzami Offtopic: Since TWW launched i've experienced massiv lag spikes/ frame drops in RAID. Does any1 have the same issue? Is there a fix to this problem?
Question for @Kalamazi or the helpful warlock community: I have a macro for incinerate and specced to diabolist and whenever that one talent that changes incinerate to infernal bolt(?) procs my spell button just breaks and is just a ? mark. Same thing with Chaosbolt. So how can I fix the macro so that I can press the spell when it procs? I guess having the regular Incinerate and Cbolt spells rhey would change automatically but I'm used to having a macro on them
great vid - quick question, with the M+ AOE Diabolist build without Cataclysm, when would I try to spread immolates to additional targets vs. continuing to use my AOE shard spenders / builders?
Cast Shadowburn Icon Shadowburn when at 2 charges and Conflagrate the same is this correct? cast them when we have 2 charges? do I cast both of them? both charges? or do I only cast one charge, and leave one remaining? maybe now I am clearer in the question, so play with one standing, or cast both 2 Shadowburn , 2 Conflagrate into cooldown? I am trying to learn what procs backdraft and what procs eradication also to keep them up as much as possible I installed WeakAuras and imported the most used "best" HUD, it don't think it is optimal for me, I just want basic information on procs not too much clutter besides my Hekili, but i fell I will learn it anyway, and I know I was missing a lot maybe in the rotation, because I had a raid and underperformed, but now I got my gear up, and now I am doing as much research as possible.
I wanna play my lock alt but I really don't know what to play. Aff is cool and strong, but refreshing agony without vile taint feels horrible; destro is alright but you always have to move in modern wow, and destro is terrible while moving; demo... I never really liked it so I don't have any muscle memory with it, also even if you do big damage it doesn't feel good (similar to BM hunter), but the hero talents look cool af.
What lvl of importance do you put on knowing all 3 specs interchangeably. I’m a demo main at 3k+ and feel like I could get more dmg and better parses if I knew aff or destro better in certain situations. I can play demo with my eyes closed but not the others… do I truly need to be great at all 3 to be my servers lock god ?
Any other expansion since when I started playing I wouldve been annoyed at destro being the best performing spec because usually aff and demo are just way more fun to play, but between the hero talents, shadowburn being relevant, and the soulfire procs, the spec now actually has barely enough depth to be fun.
To be fair - I am not really a fan of Shadowburn spam on cooldown, it is kinda wonky. I wouldn't mind have it even more powerful in the execute phase and nerfed outside of it (keep it relevant on the move but not mandatory press when just turreting the boss no matter the %). But overall I love how diabolist destro flows with all the procs and shard generation.
If playing optimally and everyone else is playing optimally then sounds so. If you're learning or with a bunch of randos doing rando movements and stuff Rift could give you even more mobility.
Shadowburn is just too powerful and CDF and Rifts just don't do as much damage. Soulfire, chaos bolt, conflagrate, incinerate, shadowburn and summon infernal are all I cast.
They would have to nerf shadowburn to be pure execute/mobility spell, not a prio-click in all situations. Also they should make CDF cast on move and buff it by another 20%.
Destro... just go play fire mage.... I don't know why, I have such a hard time enjoying it, haven't been able to force myself since Pandaria. Its so boring and brainless and does nothing for the warlock fantasy. Its supposed to represent chaos.... with 1 spell... ok.... Meanwhile demonology controls an army of demons and affliction is all about periodic corruption as they should be. On another note, our other lock got the trinket from Queen last night... holy hell it crits for 10 mil...
Demonology is better in my opinion...calling demons out while busting off instant cast bolts that drop doom mines and having all warlocks utility it's so cool..and don't forget flinging all my imps to make a big AOE explosion lol..
Hey folks. Pretty new still to the kalamazi team here. Really has helped me out in so many ways to improve. I have to ask though. How is kalamazi getting those timers on boss mechanics? One with the count down right over his toon?
The rapid fire execute Shadowburns, especially on fights (or Delves/M+) with two or more targets, even better if they are low health...it's actually wild to see the damage start spiking as we enter execute. I'm almost certain Destro is now the best execute spec in the game, nothing hits that hard, that often as Shadowburn does.
I don't think we have enough talent points to reasonably go into rift atp. You'd prolly have to give up on the soulfire part of the tree or on sdburn. It's tough.
@@ShadowsOfThePast I wouldnt be against that. Though I'd much rather baseline shadowburn seeing how iconic of a spell that is and it would free up two talent points for either NP or CDF
Diablo is THE spec. One of the few which are worthy of the title Heroic. Maybe the re-worked Dark Ranger will be nice but for now most heroic talents are just meh visually.
Diabolist looks and feels so good for Destro… except that instant Wither adds so much mobility and has spoiled me. Being able to dodge mechanics while DoTting adds with Hellcaller. In dungeons… Even as the tank is moving, you’re moving with him while applying wither. Cata on CD? Instant wither when the game is go go go move move RoF SB Conflag
I like the spec, been playing Diabolist Destro since the start when like 99% of community was ready to only do Aff for whole expansion. Guess I just trusted Blizz wouldn't leave it behind. I solo'd t11 delves and Zekvir on ? after Brann nerfs, I can outperform a lot of dungeon groups, even ended up helping Echo with their splits, so I'm 7/8 HC now. Not the be all and end all, but it can definitely hold its own if you know how to play it and have decent gear. Don't fall into the trap of doing low DPS when trying to play a spec you don't know. Also, around the 610 ilvl range Shadowburn crits begin to oneshot 1.4M health trash mobs, nothing feels better than running around spamming one button and watching everything die.
