Envy’s reaction was definitely an overly defensive compensation for his own guilt, now that he’s committed the ultimate betrayal towards his wife he wants to make sure she never feels even a fraction of that embarrassment again no matter how small and especially from another man

Because at the end of the day yes he disrespected her and he cheated on her he made a mistake and obviously he's done what he could still correct his mistake but just because he makes a mistake doesn't mean that another man should disrespect his wife just like if you had a wife or girlfriend or or husband or boyfriend if you make a mistake and you've done everything to correct your mistake you wouldn't like it if someone else disrespect that your significant other and that's what people are not understanding regardless of what he did is still a sense of disrespect because if it was the other way around I'm sure he was still feel the same way joking or not everybody takes jokes differently but if he didn't stand up for his wife everybody will be commenting and have something to say about that too

He knew that he couldn’t let it go and continue the interview which was eventually gonna become lighthearted and Envy would have been forced to be cool with them. Envy was thinking of everything his wife would do or would expect him to do. This shows what type of relationship they have. She is controlling and all about appearances. Envy is a sucka, because that wasn’t his energy, it was hers.

When they played back the comment, I never heard anyone accuse Envy's wife of being there "just for the money." All he said was that she likes the paycheck. And, I'm sure she does, which makes it true. Envy seems to be more upset that his wife put him on blast the way she did, and he's taking it out on people who are reacting to it. That's kinda how Kevin Hart and Michael Blackson got into a beef over nothing. Keep family drama out of the media if you can't take the jokes about it. They did apologize, which was more than they were required to do in my eyes. This is the consequence of Envy's infidelity there is no one else to blame apart from Envy. If he never publicly disrespected his wife no one would have a opinion on his relationship.
