Excellent review with a couple of errors, but who's perfect?🙂 THE GG-1000 does have auto illumination, easy to switch on and off by holding down the light button. Also there's no surprise death of the battery, there is a low battery warning that will give you plenty of time to replace it. It will also last 3 years minimum, Casio always underestimates battery life.I was torn between these two great watches, but as a regular trekker, the compass was an advantage and I liked the better clarity of the dial. Personally I don't think there's enough difference between the illumination to matter. Apart from solar, overall the GG-1000 is probably a better watch and worth the inconvenience of changing the batteries every 3 years or possibly more.
I am thinking about getting the GG1000 . Love the compass and thermometer. This will be my go-to watch for everything for the foreseeable future. Any thoughts or tips about it? Thanks !
As already mentioned, I'm going to Costco in the next few weeks and getting the gsg100 for $170. I just got my membership 2 weeks ago and the watch section is the first place I went to look. I believe it's regularly around a $300 watch.
I have a gg1000 and i like both of them. The fact of gsg100 have tough solar is awesome! And i like the backlight too of gsg100.Im thinking in buy a gsg100 , but the black band and positive display, because i have a gg1000 green positive display like the video. If you want to save money the gsg100 is a good choice. The gg1000 is more expensive due the twin sensor...compass and thermometer.
GWG-100 is not only solar but it also has Atomic time keeping. The GSG-100 is the same watch however, it does not have Atomic time keeping. It is also approximately $100.00 cheaper.
Without Solar……You can’t call any gshock a real survival and combat watch……all those functions mean nothing when the power goes dead and more you use it, faster it dies…..pointless and useless……no solar, no game!
