That's one hell of a machine I like all those gauges. I bet it cost a pretty penny. I built mine to be light as possible (30lb) I'm sure yours is more stable. Thanks for the walk about.

I am super jealous pf that cockpit and altimeter! I saw that for the first time at Bad Apples this year. I think I got one of the last Xenits with the Polini 303 and without the cockpit. Looks like you fly out of the same place as Bob C. I have been watching his videos for a while and I am orignally from Ohio, but up by Cleveland and have been in NC now for a little over 25 years. I subscribed. Beautiful area!

Very nice paramotor! If you had your time back would you still get the Xenit or go for the Eco 2 lite?
@comeflywithmeohio
@comeflywithmeohio Год назад
I would stay with the Xenit. Only because of weight. I'm already 230 lbs so adding a heavier trike would really cut into who I could take with me. If I was around 170lbs I would go with the Eco 2 lite only to have the foot throttle. The Xenit is a solid trike and I love it.

Hey Tom, I just received a trike I ordered with the Cosmos 300. Does your gear box make any noise when you spin the prop with the engine off? Mine makes ball baring type sounds that have me a little concerned.. Thank you for your time!

Nice machine. I have the 2017 Thor 250 model. love the strobes and altimeter. Do they come original from the factory? Those options do not show on their website. Next time if you have it running could you demonstrate the testing of ignition one and two? Does it drop rpm's when testing?

I just received the Fly Products Vertigo trike with the same guages and the strobe. Question about the strobe. Mine sometimes comes on and sometimes does not. I'm wondering if it's related to battery level charge or something else. Do your strobes come on consistently with every button press or is there a sequence to the process?
@comeflywithmeohio
@comeflywithmeohio Год назад
Hello. I have noticed that sometimes my strives will not come on in flight. My best luck is turning on the strobes before I take off. I'm not sure why that is the case but interesting you experience the same issue.

You have a gauge for the exhaust gas temp but not one for the fuel level itself. Seems to me that would be pretty important. Does it tell you how long the engine will run on a tank of fuel in the operation instructions?
@comeflywithmeohio
@comeflywithmeohio 5 месяцев назад
From what I have been told, fuel level is tricky since there are no baffles in the tank to keep the gas from sloshing around. The unit is always moving and swaying and banking and it would be really hard to get a good level. I have been looking into ways to try and make that work but haven't pulled the trigger yet. As far as fuel consumption, that is also tricky. It really depends on the passenger weight and how high you want to go. The tank is a little less than 5 gallons (approaching limit for FAR103 compliance). Flying this solo I could easily be up for several hours. Tandem around 1 hour or slightly more. It is pretty easy to monitor. But I agree, it would be nice to have that.

Do you recommend the Dual Spark? Or just change the single spark every 15 to 20 hrs?
@comeflywithmeohio
@comeflywithmeohio Год назад
I apologize for not responding sooner. I thought I had but going through comments I see I did not. Yes, I do recommend the dual spark. Here is my thought and this is only my thought. I have flown on a single spark machine since I started in this sport and never had a problem. So yes you can certainly fly a single spark engine. However, it does happen. If I was flying alone all of the time I may rethink the safety of a dual spark engine but since I am almost always flying with a passenger I choose the dual spark. I want to do everything possible to make sure every flight is pleasurable for my passenger. While we all fly with an engine out in mind which entails having enough height to ensure a field within glide range, I can't imaging landing in a corn field would turn out well. 1. rough landing 2. not a good memory for the passenger 3. damage to machine 4. damage to land owners property/crop If there is anything I can do to help prevent this and give me the absolute best odds (even a small increase), I'll take it. Again. a single spark machine is fine and they work great. I just want the additional margin of security with dual spark.

Liked, subscribed, and hit the bell. I am interested in this hobby and am curious if it might be "doable" for me. I am mid-60's, heavy, and have some physical issues. Would you consider talking one to one via telephone? If not, would you consider Messenger, for a one to one? I don't care to discuss personal concerns and/or issues on a public forum. Also what is the model trike that offers a right foot throttle & left foot brake(s), and would you share package price of yours and the foot throttle set up if you know both?

How fast can you fly this baby?
@comeflywithmeohio
@comeflywithmeohio 5 месяцев назад
Hello. Sorry it has taken so long to respond. This got past me. The wings fly at a pretty constant speed. Some a little faster than other but not by much. With that said, within a couple miles per hour, 30mph is a general speed. And that is not ground speed but air speed. Meaning....If you are flying into the wind which is 10 mph and you are doing 30 mph, your are doing 20 mph ground speed. If you are flying with a 10 mph wind, your ground speed would be 40. I hope that makes sense the way I described it.

I currently weigh in at 251lbs at 5'11". Some is COVID weight. But when I was lifting heavy pre-COVID I never dipped below 216. Is that too heavy? I can up the reps to trim out and maybe get down to 195... maybe. I have been looking at paramotoring, but that can be murder on the knees and ankles on hard landings, plus I want to fly tandem to give my wife some airtime. Am not much interested in radical wing-overs or barrel rolls, so a trike seems to be a suitable alternative.

Hello Michael. Your weight is fine. I run around 225 and have taken passengers as heavy. It's an incredible machine and would serve you well. If you do decide to do this, I would recommend a 42m wing. If you are interested, I can put you in touch with the seller of this machine.

@@comeflywithmeohio Thanks! I have looked at the Xenit Thor before and I think that's the top of my list. Still deciding on a Cosmos or Polini 303 engine. Doing homework now. I live in Texas, but may fly to Florida for training at Aviator PPG. May be just a little bit before I slap down some cheddar and get this thing going, however. I am fortunate to live down the street from our municipal airport too. Win win.
