I so wish you could do my daughter's hair! It is so long and curly, and just wash or co-wash day, takes us hours to get through. Last summer, I was feeling brave and tried to add blue (her favorite color!) into her box braids, and while it turned out okay, I have a lot to learn! Thank you for the videos! Many blessings sent your way!!

Seeing these braids done this way, I'm pretty sure I can do them myself now. If I had someone to help me part my hair, I'd do my own hair

I have a question, is it important which way we do the braid? I usually braid from the outside to the inside and here I see that you braid from the inside out, I hope you understand what I mean. Does it make any difference with braids?

The way I am going to start asking my braiders to NOT put the product on my scalp, because they don’t need it for those “clean parts”, you just proved it. This looks beautiful.

Omg I hate when they put all that product on my scalp!!! I’ve considered doing my own hair now just because of that!!!! Since when was all that gel on the scalp necessary and why is it a mandatory thing now 😒 and when you say something about it, they get hostile or say “it’s not going to turn out right if I don’t put the gel”. I’m so over it!

My "aha" moment was when you started demonstrating how to integrate the hair into the braid. I've always wanted to learn how to braid but I've NEVER been able to find a video that has a clear visual of the braiding demonstration. Until I found your video 💖

Oh this is a great tutorial! I think my “ah-ha!” moment was just seeing how you’re gripping the hair and laying the braiding hair. A lot of tutorials show these crazy grips and finger placements, but yours is much better. It’s simplified and straightforward. Thanks again for another great tutorial and wow your girls are growing up! ❤

Linwood, this video is filled with many reasons as to why we need informative videos like this. I've watched many long and short form videos where people showed braiding techniques and styles. This is the first one where someone said not to use braiding gel on the scalp. But only to put it on the hair. I've noticed that some braiders were leaning heavily on braiding gel. But I've read many comments under those videos of people saying after they got their hair braided the gel left their scalp feeling itchy or irritated. And the taking the hair and twisting it to get an idea of the width of the braids was very helpful for me. I've been just eyeballing it. I also use the thread holder to hold the hair that I use whether for braiding hair or crochet braids. So your explanation of that was helpful as well. Also the brick laying method definitely solved the problem of some people's braids looking thin or having a lot of spaces. This was so helpful. And your oldest definitely looks like her mom. You have two cute little girls.

Beautiful. Only had my hair braided once because gel was applied to scalp and I was anxious to rip out my braids soon after. And along came tons of my hair that fell out too. The first thing I noticed was you putting gel on your hair only no scalp. You’re amazing! I thought I was maybe allergic to the hair. Thanks!

Thank you for this! The thing you did to measure the size of the braids was so helpful. I’ve been doing my own braids since quarantine. I was terrible at first-just glad to get them done because I taught myself. I’ve gotten so much better and am now working on consistency in my braiding and conquering knotless. I’m going to try this next time I do my hair. Would love any tips on doing this to your own hair; it gets hard in the back. With this video, though, I think I might be able to practice the muscle memory needed to do it well in the back. Take good care!

Thank you so much! I have an issue/request. My daughter is mixed, and she wants me to braid her hair, but I haven't done it in over 20 years. Any recommendations for a late in life mom with a daughter whose hair is coarse in some places and fine in others?

Question - I braid opposite the way you do, can I still use this technique or will the hair loosen
