You saved my life! I tried to brew a pot yesterday and it started overflowing. I came here to figure out why, I must not have had the lid aligned! Thanks so much. Now I can keep my cute coffee pot☺️
Honestly thank you for this. I’ve been looking to get my own coffee maker so I don’t have to annoy my mom by using hers 😂 keurigs just don’t appeal to me and a lot of coffee makers had bad reviews online so it’s nice to see someone putting in the time and effort to give genuine reviews like this ☺️
I got one about two years ago and it just quit last week. I bought another one last week after work and am looking forward to another two years, hopefully. It is perfect for me and works very well. tyvm for the review.
We had one of those $80 Keurig dual coffepot/K-cup machines. It stopped working after 2 years. It's planned obsolescence; that's why you're better off buying the cheapest stuff. Extra money doesn't buy extra lifespan.
Just found your detailed and fun review. THX! Please read the quick tips/instructions. Quick reminder: after the brewing is done, turn it off. The inside warming element inside will burn up if the coffee maker is plugged in and the button shows it is ON. This version does not have the "warmer" option. This version requires water when it is turned on. Hope this helps your "maker" to last long. 😊
Very informative, thanks! I came here looking to find out what filters it uses. That drippy mess on the counter that you get when you pour the coffee can be mostly avoided by lifting up the lid a bit when you pour. It's a problem many carafes share.
Been looking to get an inexpensive coffee maker that makes decent coffee. I really like how you did this review. And Walmart’s website shows 4.5 star reviews for this. Very convincing! Great video 👍🏻
Enjoyed your review. Here's a handy hint for users of 4 and 5-cup coffeemakers. You DO NOT need to use the mini paper filters that (in my area) are more costly and very hard to find. You can use the less costly and easier to find standard 8 to 12-cup paper filters.
Yeah just the standard size basket filters work just fine. There just a little bit bigger and sit up a little higher, but no big deal lid still shuts tight. Have no idea my they got to market mini 4 cup filters when the 10-12 cup ones work fine. That confused me when I bought mine. I thought I need to get the mini ones. Than afterward I found stored away in cabinet pantry some left over standard filters and tried one and it worked fine.
Put the paper filter in, then wet it under the tap & it sticks nicely to the filter basket. I use the regular 8-12 cup filters which are very easy to find.
I bought this frickin little thing like three years ago and I get the best small pot of coffee ever. Only a few minor complaints; the pot leaks when pouring sometimes if you pour too fast. The burner does not heat up the coffee as quickly as it first did when I bought it three years ago. You have to let it sit for a few minutes after percolation is finished in order for it to heat up. Usually five minutes is best imo
Looks like this is a lot of people’s first coffee maker just like it is my first. Your directions were perfect, so thanks! I also have a keurig but kcups are so expensive!
I just purchased this style coffee maker... I have other coffee makers... I just needed an inexpensive one for my shop... Thanks for sharing... Very helpful...
Love this review, so relaxing to watch. I keep breaking the carafe's for the 5 cup Mr. Coffee and then having to buy a new machine to replace the carafe.....so I'm gonna buy one of these coffee makers instead - much cheaper than Mr.Coffee or any kind of replacement carafe I can find online!
Just walked through the door with this and wasn't sure the water went in that place, mom got me drinking coffee especially since my back is relaxing since drinking coffee for the last 4 days, age 60 and now I'm a coffee guy.
I just bought one of these because sometimes I just don't want the bother of the French press. I will say that so far, it's made some excellent coffee for me. I went with 4 tablespoons to 3 cups by the carafe (which is different than 3 "real" cups of anything) and it probably came out slightly stronger than some might care for, but it was very decent. Is it 300 dollar Cafe Specialty thermal carafe good? No, but then, it's also 10 bucks, plus another 7 or so for a gold filter off Amazon. And yes, I've got a pack of those same filters up in my cupboard now because that was all I could find for my first test brew.
This looks exactly like the coffee maker my parents had when I was a small child lmao. Been using the French press my mom has for the past few months however having to put up with the taste of the coffee grains when they settle I'm just completely done with. Bought my very own coffee maker worth over $200 yesterday and came in today and even if it is a bit pricey, in the long run it'll save me many more trips to Starbucks in the long run. Never been big into coffee especially growing up didn't even want to look at it, but every 7 years your taste buds do change and I started loving it so much.
Thanks for making this video. I wasn't sure if I was going to buy this coffee maker, but after your review I'm definitely getting it. Nice job - well done and extremely informative!
@@rockinbells8351 So sorry about your Migraines. I suffer from Cluster headaches, I feel for you!!! take care, I had the new motts Hot apple cider K cup in my Keurig and it was amazing!!
Thanks for making this video review with helpful tips...... I just bought this little coffee maker the other day as my best friend sent my kids (who love iced coffee and beg for Starbucks all the time) some flavored coffee from Java Mama and needed a pot to brew it in. I'm not a huge coffee drinker but do enjoy some here and there. So I am thinking of getting me some ground coffee and I like how you showed the measurement for the coffee per 5 cups. Stupid manual says 1 scoop per cup and for someone who's always done instant coffee I was like how much is a scoop and how much would be for 5 cups. Thanks for the tips. You should also note in here about every 40-60 cycles to run vinegar and water through to clean inside the machine... (my friend told me this tip). I also like this maker doesn't take up much space at all on the counter.
Thanks for watching and your kind comments. thanks also for the Tip on cleaning. I also enjoy hearing everyone's coffee Journey. thanks for sharing your story. I really did enjoy it!!!
Bought one of these yesterday to replace a very similar (but white) Black & Decker model that appears to have died (probably about 10 years old). Most days I only have a single cup o' Joe before leaving the house, made with a Melitta pourover cone, but on days I don't work I like to have a followup second cup without the pour over process and extra filter use. The reason I'm posting is because of the claim of this unit's filter basket impeding the closing of the top lid. The reason for this is that with the carafe in place the basket is resting on the top of it with its spring-loaded drip valve. If you do all of your water filling and coffee adding first, close the lid before putting the carafe in place and you won't run into this issue. Also, any of these cup size ratings for the machine (5-cup, etc.) are referencing some non-existent 5 oz. cup (maybe from your grandma's China set). The reviewer showed he got approximately 26 oz., and this equates out to approximately three 8 oz. cups or mugs, which is a much more realistic measure of this class of machines' capabilities. Thanks for the review.
I bought this today, and it's making very aggressive clicking sounds when brewing. It's almost like popcorn in a microwave. Is this normal? I ran vinegar through it and it's still happening
Thanks for watching and yes you have to use a paper filter or a reusable filter that is shaped like a paper filter but made of plastic and had filter around it.
I use to buy ridiculously expensive coffee makers then I discovered these for 10 bucks & never went back. Just shows you how much profit there is in coffee makers. I can buy ten of these for the cost of one "useless feature packed" maker.
You have to close the lid before replacing the pot if you don't want the basket popping out of place. I put the grounds in, then fill the tank, then close the lid, then put the pot back on the burner. That's the proper order for this design.
Please turn off the coffee maker after the water is finished in the reservoir. Keeping it on will, at best, burn your coffee, and, at worst, burn your house down.
@@brianedwards9616 It doesn't matter. Coffee makers use a heated pipe to move water through and to heat the element. Water keeps it from achieving temps above 212. After the water is out, the temps increase and burn the coffee.
I have this coffee maker and you must enjoy crappy coffee. It doesn’t get anywhere near hot enough to make a good cup of coffee. Do not waste your money on this thing folks. I’m upgrading to a nicer one this week
