Great video. I liked the camera shots, the fact that you gave all the nut/bolt sizes, explanation of what and whys and part numbers that stayed on the screen for the appropriate parts. Clear and concise, well done!

@@Adv4x4 ya dude I love those headlights and grille.. I'm debating if I should stick to the access cab, cause I still want the longer bed. Unless I find the full 4 doors with the longer bed. Then debating if I want 4wd or not.

This is a great video. I appreciate you showing every bit of the work you did. It's very helpful and looks doable for an average guy like me. Lol. I have 2 questions if you don't mind. 1.So could you have used the old metal bumper without issue but you just wanted a different part? 2. If I'm gonna do a regular 2012 and up bumper I would need the crash bar or whatever it's called. But you go metal bumper it is not required? Again thank you for this video it's extremely helpful and should get way more views!!!

Yessir my old bumper I believe would have fit! (Although Not all other brands may have fit) I just wanted to upgrade from what I had. Also if you planned to do the factory bumper I believe you would need the crash bar and potentially some other small brackets. I think there is a thread on Tacoma world that outlines that. If you choose to use a metal bumper you no longer need to worry about the crash bar or anything. Just the stuff I highlighted in the video!

When you ordered that new bumper did you shop for one that was compatible with 2005-2011 or 2012-2015? I want to get a C4 fabrication bumper but am unsure if it will fit once I swap out these parts. I assume if everything regarding the front end is swapped to the newer one then the bumper would have to line up with the newer parts regardless of the fact its still a gen 2.0.

Either body style should fit the truck they just do certain styling to make them flow with each front end. This bumper was designed for 12-15!

Love the video, easily the best one out there! Side question though... Thinking of doing this with a stock 2006 Tacoma but adding an ARB bumper into the equation... Should I be searching for a 2004-2011 or 2012-2015 compatible bumper? Would it make a difference?

All those brackets look pretty similar to the ones you pulled off. I've also heard that all the same mounting points exist between the 2nd and 3rd gen. Do you absolutely have to change those brackets??

Does anyone know if it is posssible to upgrade just the lower bumper cover on a 2007 Tacoma to 2012 without the grill and the headlights? I already have the updated grill to the TRD Pro and upgraded the headlights to the Alpharex Luxx series. I just want to change out the lower bumber cover to make the entire face upgrade complete.

The steel bumper is from Bay Area Metal Fabrication. It is their hybrid bumper. They have a website to order from!

Hey man, awesome video! Thinking about doing this to my 06 Tacoma. Quick question, other than the mentioned x4 10mm bolts for securing the headlights and bumper filler retainer clips is there any other hardware that we will need, or can the old bolts/snap-ins be used for the new parts? Thanks!

Thanks Man! Those bolts I mentioned should be all you need! You can reuse the other headlight hardware and also the grill hardware👍🏼

I believe Some people have converted 2nd gen front end to the 3rd gen front but I’m not sure what it intails and if there is any custom work or it’s all bolt on!

I'm planning on getting a bamf bumper like yours with a low hoop no winch. I have an Acess cab with double cab coils and Bilstein 5100s do you think this will sag down my front end at all been nervous about it. started to consider nfab for the weight savings but i really like the sleek look of the bamf bumper!

The plastic bumper would need to be changed as well as the crash bar if you aren’t doing metal 👍🏼

It took a good 4+ hours to do But Also a lot of that time was wiring and mounting the winch into the new bumper. If you are just swapping the main parts it doesn’t take too long. Definitely need a helping hand for the hood!
