This is a fantastic overview. YoLink seems to have quite the selection of sensors addressing so many different needs. Your video answered the questions I had--and questions I didn't know I should be asking. Well done.
I've just bought over E500 of YoLink products and I must say I am DISGUSTED with their service and their appalling attitude. A month after ordering I had to issue an ultimatum before the goods were finally delivered and it was abundantly clear that the company were being dishonest about delivery. The order has a missing item and even though it was obvious the goods were being sold to a European customer none of the provided PSUs are European, all having American connections instead. The final insult was a bill for 20% ON TOP of the final price in import duty even though this was not obvious at the point of order - the prices quoted were in Euros so one would assume the goods were coming from inside the EU! CAVEAT EMPTOR!
UPDATE... the order arrived MINUS one item so they made me a "goodwill gesture" of a partial refund plus a small compensatory payment... too small to cover the import duty and postage if I ordered the item again! So I insisted on the item being sent, which they ignored until we involved the credit card company!!! And now just to add insult to injury the WEATHERPROOF outdoor temperature sensor has died - so I opened it up and found it was... FULL OF WATER!!! I've reported same complete with photographic evidence but after almost a week waiting for a reply they appear to be ignoring me!!! Make of this what you will but my experience so far leads me to conclude that Yo Smart products are cheap and nasty and their trading practices are dodgy in the extreme. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!
A further update on the basis of full and truthful disclosures regarding Yo Link… I’m pleased to report that a replacement temperature sensor has arrived. Now let’s see if it lasts more than three weeks this time!
I see your rebar sistered against your pex pipe. Is that still working for you? I was looking for a way to install a bulldog without worrying about it disturbing my crimped pex.
Hi Ryan, How have you been? Was I surprised seeing you on the Yolink videos :-) I'm looking at using the Yolink leak sensor and valve products. How has your experience been with the system and how long have you used it? Any major issues with either the hardware or software? Thanks, Bill Grefe (B3 ATK Lake City)
Wow! What a small world! I am doing pretty good. How about you? I really like the YoLink solution for the valves and sensors. The range is unbeatable and the ability to directly connect devices is a life saver if you have a power outage. I am a bit biased as I am now working directly with YoLink (I am doing their tutorial videos now). We actually have a dedicated video on the leak sensors coming out soon. Feel free to shoot me an email with any other questions: ryan@thissmart.house Great to hear from you!
