Help full videos actually This is a Engineering technical service which you guys are doing such excellent job for other which are not access to the Lab. again thx for sharing
I think there is a correction in the second part to calculate the weight of sand occupying the hole W1= Weight of Sand pouring Cylinder with sand upto top. W4= Weight of Sand pouring Cylinder after filling the field hole. Now (W1 - W4 ) gives the weight of sand filled in hole along with the weight of conical sand portion at top. Hence to find out the weight of sand occupied on hole only , deduct the conical sand portion W3 Therefore weight of sand on hole is W1 - W4 - W3 ( But, eventhough he has substituted correct values , it is wrongly given here as W1-W4-W2) Anyway I appreciate the author for his work....super
there are 2 typos in this great video. As Aksay Kumar mentioned, Wsand=w1-w4-w3 (not w1-w4-w2); Also at around 11:30, equation 6, divided by volume Vh (not divided by Wb)
wooow so helpful i really enjoyed the prac so given only a specific gravity of the soil particles, for instance 2.68, how would you proceed to calculate the degree of saturation of the soil
respected sir ,in the 2 nd part of experiment ,i.e in the calculation of bulk density of soil , in place of W 2 ( i.e weight of sand in sand pouring cylinder after pouring ) , W 3 ( i.e weight of sand in cone of sand pouring cylinder ) should be used.
i couldn't understand why the technician was hitting the side of the cone? its wrong. when you calibrating the sand you should avoid the disturbance to the cone. its need to be fill in as loose density. if you hitting the cone, that means you giving some static compression to the sand and it will be increasing the BULK DENSITY of the sand.
sir when u placed sand pouring cylinder on excavated hole i think u hv to remove pit ist becoz the pit will increase the hole lenth by 1 to 2 cm by which sand poured is more that can affect the results
