In our final video this summer we set out to chase detoured CSX train Q156-02 (SU-100B) over the NYS&W. With the train departing Binghamton in the early morning a chase from Sparrow Bush to points East could be made. We begin this chase at the Mill Rift Bridge; one of my all time favorite shots. Then the train then had to wait on an Eastbound commuter train so we had the opportunity to film it in Port Jervis passing the old Erie station. After this the chase was on as the train would have a clear run to North Bergen on the NJT Mainline and the NYS&W Southern Division mainline. In one of our most involved chases ever we'll catch the train at 17 different spots, many first time shots, and a few oldie but goodies all the way down to North Bergen where it would be handed off to CSX. The decision to make an epic chase of this train was a no-brainer, out of the 3 CSX detours taking the NYS&W on September 3-4 this would be the only one to run in daylight on the Southern Tier/Southern Division. This chase was by far our most successful when speaking of quality shots and having a great time with friends.
