I agree that part of the issue is rust. Remember, Hendon Hooker simply hasn't been able to even practice in over a year. But I'm sure he'll be ready for a time when the Lions actually need him.

Hendon is a gamer and always has been remember he hasn't played in a year. Also his strength is the fear defenses are going to fear what he can do with his legs and with a run game the wide receivers will benefit.

Hendon will see a lot of snaps this pre season. We will have a better idea of his progress by the end of that time.

Who thought he was going to be a starting QB 2 years removed from that in college? Geez. JJ McCarthy is getting 2nd team snaps but no one cares because he's a rookie. So is Hendon Hooker. He didn't play last year. He's never been through a training camp or OTA's or played in a preseason game. I was watching someone today talk about Caleb Wilson and one of the issues he had in practice was holding the ball too long. Same thing they got on Hendon Hooker for. And he played last year. Let Hendon develop at his own pace. Don't rush him.

I get it. you're saying that Hooker sucks but the good news is we have Goff. My news in that virtually every QB drafted in the first round struggled, many even worse than Hooker. Than Dan said that he loaded up Hooker with different installs more than most so his processing might be slow because of it, so he will have them to work on. They didn't spoon feed him plays because he's a rookie. All those reports from Jeremy Riesman were very negative and they left out that Goff struggled too in minicamp and OTAs. He was even worse last year, look it up. Hooker is going through the beginnings of real football, the good news us he'll get better. The good news is he will be better in training camp. We all will get to see with our own eyes in preseason what Hooker looks like, not listen to one guy who's really over-attached to Goff. Unlike you, I want to see Hooker shine because I don't have great faith in Goff. I don't buy that a guy who is a pure pocket passer is a wise investment. To me, the good news is Hooker is the backup, and learning and getting better. It's wrong to base a young player's career on OTAs and minicamp. Even Jeremy mentioned there were good plays, others mentioned passes that were straight on accurate including a 40 yard dime.

We are in a perfect situation with our QB situation. Fans, don't let the media steal our joy with their clickbait negative hysteria BS.

I just realized, there are 35 helmets on that banner. Why do the Broncos have 2? I see the one under the Lions looks like a gorilla, I don’t remember that team.

He should give Goff a call to spend some time with him and Amon Ra over the summer. Just get some work in.
