Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo leads his team on a game-winning touchdown drive late in the game and the defense stands tall in the final moments of a 24-20 win over the Detroit Lions.
Stat-fford was a bum then is a bum now an I’m glad he want to be traded this is 1 of the best times in lion’s history getting rid of that stat chasing bastard
Right because that flag on the punter should have been called? Lol take 7 points away from Detroit, and the pass was at the defender and the offense of guy if you watch the other angle clearly pulled the defender more into him, so that could have been offensive pass interference as well. So no one screwed Lions.
@@007ejgaming you guys get screwed all the time but you also kinda blew it yourselves. Got out scored 17-3 in the 2nd half,Fumbled and lost the ball twice and had 2:32 left to win the game. Not to mention the PI that wasn't called before it. We got karma the next week (so did green Bay after that) but still
I miss romo man either we made a big play or it was a pick 6. But every play I’ll gasp for air . One of the most underrated football players of all time
You think that’s bad man, I’m a bills fan. They sucked my entire school career and didn’t make the playoffs until a year after I got my bachelors degree lol
lions got screwed and everyone with their head screwed the right way knows it. That Detroit front 7 was the most fun defense to watch during that season, and they got screwed like that.
+aretwo deetwo With an awful call like this makes me pissed off at all those Cowgirl fans who were pissed off at that dez bryant catch, which wasn't even a catch. It was the right call, but it's a stupid rule (Calvin Johnson Rule)
+aretwo deetwo Lions fans still can't accept that the penalty didn't change the outcome of the game. Deal with the fact that the Lions aren't a good team lol.
+Shaun Kipp if we would've got that penalty we could've had a scoring drive and there should've been a penalty on dez for running on to the field.. so really the outcome would have been different
+aretwo deetwo I kind of agree they screwed on that one call bad, but you can't deny the offense, especially the line, failed to get the job done when it counted most in the fourth quarter. They had more opportunities than they did in some of their other close games, and plain failed to get it done. It was fucking heartbreaking. This year they have a new OL, RB, and should still be a top 10 defense with all the pieces they kept. Suh was important on the pass rush, and some of what they lose from that they should gain in run stuffing from Ngata, and Ansah has shown he can beat a good T and should still be developing. I don't know why people think Fairly would be missed, he usually only showed up on goal line plays and the occasional 3rd down, plus he injured his knee for half the season.
To sum up the postseason: Detroit got screwed by Dallas. Dallas got screwed by Green Bay. Green Bay screwed themselves against Seattle. New England screwed Indianapolis. Seattle screwed themselves in the Super Bowl. New England got screwed in the offseason.
@@pp3k3jamail so that 10 yard punt didnt have anything to do with it? what about that big lead they blew? and yall think they got screwed because of a bad call? lmao stfu crybaby and dont call someone a moron for asking a question.
That no-call was bs. As a Cowboys fan, or just football fan in general, anyone can see that. We didn't deserve this win, but we took it and paid for it later. I've only cried watching football one time in my life, and that was the overturned catch against Green Bay. Hell of a season, that's for sure. We're due for another electric season like '14-'15! DC4L 💙
@@colepriceguitar1153 'If I block the receivers path to the ball, then that’s good defense.' what?????? So corners should just stand back a few yards and run into the receivers and put them in the ground every play? The rule makes perfect sense and that play was the exact reason the rule should be in place but they picked up the flag for no reason
@@doughy_ That running into the punter penalty saved a Lions touchdown drive that they didn't deserve because the defender stopped and didn't affect the punt whatsoever. Take away 7 and the Lions' final score would have been the same if they got a touchdown on the pass interference drive. And if they only got a field goal, then the Cowboys would have won 24-16.
As well as a lot of other no calls against he Cowboys. Multiple contacts on fair catches. Plus a 3rd down in which Dez was pushed to the ground because he was beat, but no call on that. The result was a Romo sack (in the video) and a missed FG. It should have been 1st and goal at the 5.
looking back on this, it's 1 billion times more ridiculous that Dez was allowed to sprint 10 yards onto the field with no helmat than it was that they picked up that flag after moving the chains and setting the ball down.
as a fan following the team since 1977, this was first and only time i have literally ever cried over a football game, as demarcus lawrence made the ultimate redemption saving play.
***** You're a dumbass... Terrance Williams 3rd and goal touchdown... Ansah and Jason Jones... held. 3rd and 1, Brandon Pettigrew DPI or DH should have offset the play to 3rd and 1 again. Dez was never hit with the 15 yard UC. It's a game changer. not saying the Lions should've won, but it shouldn't have been affected by refs. Your cowboys suck ass anyway. 8-8 next season.
***** You're trippin. I could give two shits over arguing about football. Because that's what it is made to do to keep sheep like you from knowing what's actually going on in the world loool. I talk facts. Go watch the replays and see the game changers of the game. How you gonna call a dude a crybaby over youtube, you're lame af boy. Your team is shit. End of story. There is one goal to accomplish and that's a superbowl. Neither team won so fuck outta here fuck boy.
Suh was getting held all game and that Hitchens no pi was diabolical. What a screw job we would’ve beat Green Bay too, maybe the Seahawks. Could’ve been a magical season for us but that’s just how it goes. T Will did play a hell of a game
I'm a cowboys fan and that was a CLEAR PI CALL (Unless if you are blind AF). SOme Cowboys fans should stop blaming the refs when they lose a game even though the refs were on our side.
Humble Dallas Fan I wasn’t mad about the cowboys winning. But I’m like why even call it then overturn it. Then you guys got screwed against GB which sucked
Original6Productions The NFL admitted after the game they missed the call lmao. And also Sue was held on the 4th and 6th play so they got away with that call as well.
@@KhariShootYourShot92 On paper, we look pretty stacked. Pretty great draft, young studs on our team, and the rest of our division is floundering. The only thing stopping us are the refs
Snickers Chocolate Bar That wasn't really a good call, but it was one that had to be made; the guy did hit the punter even though it was kind of a consequence of him falling down trying to block the kick.
***** No it wouldn't of mattered, it's just kind of funny that the Lions always seem to get screwed over...and I hate the Cowboys so I never like watching them win.
I’m convinced this is the worst Lions loss in team history. This was the year. This was the team. And Matt Stafford blew it. No offense for almost 3 full quarters. The refs didn’t help, and neither did Sam Martin, but damn man. This was the team to do it.
years later and this game still bothers me.... they talk about Stafford being unable to win the 3 playoff games he was in....This game was never really a loss to me... it was a win the lions were cheated out of.... that was PI... that is why they through the flag.... Hot headed Dez walking onto the field without a helmet... wow.... didn't get called for that? This past season Amendola ran onto the field after a TD that along with the kick would win the game for the Lions... He ran out there not in anger but in celebration...he was called for that, and they tacked on yards for Prater's kick, But the lions got nothing for Dez's walk out onto the field in anger without his helmet.... No the... IMO the Lions won that game.... But the powers that be did not want them too. Cowboys were the favorite and they were given that game. The NFL sent an apology letter to the Lions organization.... what good is that?
They hated us and always will. Were a poverty franchise that the refs always seem to make up new rules on the go. Im excited for this next regime and have full faith in Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell
@@Z2Z9 cry 😂. Mcvay will be gone from the lambs in 2 yrs, he traded a young QB with playoff experience for a washed up injury prone proven loser Stafford. Go Hawks 💙💚
@@demonking4883 LOL, you can bag on the organization all you want, but there is no fanbase that has been tested more and is still as dedicated as Lions fans. The only thing close are Cubs fans, but even there, before their World Series win, a big portion of the Cubs fanbase embraced the "loveable losers" mentality and/or just enjoyed summer days outdoors at Wrigley. Lions fans actively root for their team to be competitive despite not being rewarded in decades. And despite the Red Wings, Pistons, Tigers, Michigan football and basketball, and Michigan State football and basketball all enjoying some degree of success ranging from "decent stretches" to "dynasties" over the past few decades, the Lions have remained THE most popular team in Detroit/Michigan. Anyone attacking Lions fans is basically admitting they've just started following football or otherwise have no real grasp on its history.
I don't see how even Cowboys fans are saying the Lions got screwed. Watch the back judge camera angle of the Pettigrew/Hitchens play. Pettigrew was grabbing the facemask of Hitchens during the entire play, he let go as Hitchens was swipping Pettigrews arm off, and at that exact same moment is when the ball hit Hitchens in the back. It should have been 2 offsetting penaties *if anything* but a good no call in the end. Let's not forget Detroit had 2 other chances to win, and Stafford fumbled both away.
What's crazy is there was still 8 minutes left in this game and the lions were already up. Play some defense and then seal it. With the cowboys situation the following week against the packers is they were down with time running out, Dez caught the ball and was down at the 1 with 4 minutes left.. They could've ran that down to about 2:30 left and got the TD and then shut down the packers O and seal it. It's not the same thing at all
Chris E really? because that dez catch wasent a catch and if it was the packers could have maybe held the cowboys. the packers also could have scored easily with 2:30 left in the game.
Lions should've beaten the Cowboys, Cowboys should've beaten the Packers, Packers should've beaten the Seahawks, Seahawks should've beaten the Patriots
these were the days man... hardly any injuries, Demarco kickin' ass, Romo healthy for the most part, Dez healthy, man that season was fun to watch. Still pisses me off they lost at home vs Washington. Especially the fact they beat Seattle at home but got a lower seed than them in the playoffs. the dez caught it game never would've happened. 12-2 that year with Romo, 0-2 when he didn't start. that year was theirs and too much just a little too much went against them. hopefully they can piece something like that before Romo retires and maybe win something nice for a change. Romo needs to shove all of his critics words up their ass, stay healthy, and kick some ass like we all know he's capable of. Go Romo and Dak, of course. Rooting for him too
Ive seen Romo get hit late(that was also a low hit)so many times throughout his career like at 6:45 yet he never complained about a flag nor did he ever get that call, in his favor, Im not even being biased but he got hit late so much more than any other QB ive ever seen, IMO that also contributed to the toll it took on his body that led to injuries.
After Dan Bailey missed that field goal in the 3rd qtr after being good all year.... I thought a complete choke was about to happen again just like with the vikings in 2010 , props to Tony for fighting back in this game.
Plus how did we "deserve" to lose the game when all those penalties in the first half allowed Detroit to sustain all their drives? So your saying one non PI call with 8 minutes to go when they were up was the game? Maybe it was their 10 yard punt and Stafford fumbling TWICE on their last drive. Watch the game before you talk crap about a team.
Lions deserved that possibly game clinching face guarding / PI call unbelievable that if they had won this game Calvin probably wouldn't have been forced into retirement
yea but he did not go after the ball one bit, he had his back completely turned away from the ball and initiated a contact on the shoulder before the ball got to the receiver, that was a textbook PI
